I love Mer Girl it´s cool, deep, haunting but Has To Be is awesome, I was so surprised when I got the ROL maxi single. I prefer Har To Be

I think Has To Be is a better song, but Mer Girl is the perfect way to end Ray Of Light. It's sort of like Act Of Contrition...it's not a song you'd really want to hear on a random playlist but it is an essential component of the album nonetheless.

Has to be no hesitation. This song has been my non-single favorite of all time. I love the Asian ambiance and the ambiance in this song, very relaxing and peaceful. A Masterpiece. I like very well also Mer Girl (a personal song about her mother death)

Both are superb songs.  But I'm leaning towards Has to Be!  It's such a lovely song and if I had any input on the album tracks back when it was being put together, I would have suggested "Has to Be" be on the album rather "To Have and Not Hold".

Same here.  I just love HAS TO BE.   Mer Girl is a beautiful song it's own way too.  I love how dark it is.
