In 1994 my best friend hated Madonna without any logical reason. I knew she loved ballads, so:
    Live To Tell
    La Isla Bonita
    Take A Bow
    Oh Father
    I'll Remember
In 1995 my best friend became a casual fan.

Why not? I'm fan thanks to the remixes and video-clips: Open your heart video and remix, Like a Prayer single Remix, Express Yourself video and remix, Where's the Party remix, Fever video and remix, Bedtime Story Video and Remix.... These remixes and videos made me a hardcore fan, not the album versions without videos.

Edit One although the Album Version is amazing. One of my favourite singles with some great remixes and a underrated video.

In my opinion, Live To Tell was the first single. I wasn't fan in 1986 but I remember how LTT impacted in my life (you know, first love, first heartbreak).
Maybe "Live To Tell" is my favorite Madonna song, but many videos and singles (Express Yourself, Vogue, Fever, Deeper and Deeper, Ray of Light, ...) buried the beauty of "Live To Tell" in my mind because I love dance songs.

Only her first singles (1982-1989) and the album "Like a Prayer" need a remaster. Why do you want a remaster of "Music" or "American Life"? Even "Erotica" or "I'm Breathless" have an incredible sound. And "The first album", "Like a Virgin" and "True Blue" were remastered.
A complete remaster with all the Warner albums will be a waste of time and money. They don't need a remaster.

But hey, I'll try not to be a judgemental asshole. I only want all the single edits in my lifetime. I can't see any re-recordings sounding good with her current voice.

I only want for a greatest hits compilation, the "remix/edits" and the "7'' versions" only available on vinyl from 1982 to 1990 (Dress You Up, Open Your Heart, etc, etc). After 1990 her catalog is available on CD so you can create any Greatest Hits without any problem.
And I want her classic videos in real 1080p. Maybe is expensive to scan the original 35mm, but Madonna is part of the popular culture and her videos must be saved in the best quality.

So people hate Celebration and the way the release was messed up, yet don't want a replacement that could potentially fix issues and include material that we haven't heard or has gone unreleased on CD/digitally?
    Okay....
It's actually a great idea to have a decent GH compilation for casual fans to be able to buy. I however would prefer a box set or anthology collection as apposed to another 2-CD GH set.

at this point she should start looking at a complete singles/promo singles/club single collection. a definitive radio edits, 7" version collection of each release including songs limited to smaller markets.

Aiwa08 reacted to RayOfLight in A Fan’s Piece on Madonna Haters
The problem is that Madonna has loads of ( way too many) FATERS - fan/haters ?.
    How to spot a FATER:
    * Theyre never ever happy with anything new Madonna releases. They write long and tedious essays on why her new material is no good always comparing it to her previous works which im sure they had slagged off too.
    * They pay so much attention to details and little insignificant things to the point of dissecting it like a CSI agent. So there will always be something for them to moan about and criticise.
    * Theyre often and usually part of the ageist and sexist narrative.
    * They waive their right of free speech and accuse other fans of being blind sheep; basically if i dont hate a particular song or denounce M on a particular issue then i am a stupid follower with no opinion for myself.
    * Theyre passive/ aggressive on pretty much everything. They might express some positive opinion on something but it usually follows with a negative one so that anything M does is basically meh.
    * They use Madonnas long history with controversy to highlight her perceived missteps. Quite often siding with the biased media machine than actual standing by M.
    * The failure to grasp that M started out as a dance/ urban artist. Yes people thought she was black. But they quickly jump on bandwagon of accusing M of trying to be cool or go down with the kids when she does urban music. The whole thing comes across quite racist and ignorant in my opinion.
    * They are very critical of how Madonna looks; color of hair, fillers, wrinkles, ass size... Honestly i dont even want to bore myself with the long list of how Madonna should or shouldn’t look like.
    * They hate anything else M does besides music. No films, no other lucrative businesses ( gyms, hotels, restaurants, clothing... and of course MDNA skin)!  Madonna should only have a music career which more than likely they are also not too happy with anyway.
    * They fail (they refuse) to understand how the music business works these days. They cant see how features, duets and collabs are practically nothing to be stressing about because its the norm in music today. Same for autotune and other production trickeries.. nothing to lose sleep over because its the norm but for these fans those issues are the make it or break it of a particular song.
    * They use charts as a validation point. Basically Madonnas music is no good if it doesnt reach the number 1 spot. Instead of being logical on this charts thing they love to compare Madonnas today impact on the charts with the likes of Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. As a fan i cant for the love of God even consider todays messy charts with the glorious days when M had global number ones after number ones based on sales rather than likes, clicks and views ( which are extremely easy to manipulate and buy these days). Madonnas the most successful female artist of all times not having hits in the late stage of her career wont change that so i dont understand this morbid obsession.

    15 are too much, but:
"Bitch I'm Madonna" & "Human Nature" are in the top (I hate them, I hate them, I hate them)
    "B-Day Song"
    "Best Friend"
    "Superstar"
I don't include more songs from the official "Rebel Heart" album because I played it only once. I prefer the demo versions.

The gay connection and inflences have always been clear, and also the fact that many female popstars are gay icon.
What I find interesting is that strong and evident change of fanbase, which I don't think happened to many other singers or celebrities.
In the mid Eighties all girls wanted to dress like Madonna, everybody fancied her. But then when she became opinionated and started to show how she owned her sexuality, many went off with her.
Definitely the Sex Book is important but believe me, it happened before. As @Aiwa08pointed out, Express yourself and Vogue are probably "gayer" than previous singles, especially in their videos, showing naked men and gay dancers. Maybe the Mary Lambert videos, with the double image virgin/whore, fit a larger audience, while the David Fincher period shows a different Madonna. And finally the BAT, more theatrical and less rock than WTG, with the group of gay dancers and their lives portrayed in TOD, determined a clear change of direction. Vogue in XViii century style is also very gay! I wonder if this was intentional and if M realized about losing part of her audience.
