EgoRod got a reaction from Veronica-Electronica in Madonna x Charli XCX?
I saw Charlie at Club Motherfucker in 2009, this was a dirty basement not far from my house with lots of bands and djs curated from MySpace. She sang with a ipod mini plugged to a tiny speaker. I loved her song Francheesckaar!! and something about a T-Rex. I knew of her because of some music blog I followed. She was the first act and we might be about 40 people in there.
After that I saw her months later opening for Peaches at Southbank Electro Festival, I think we were about 10 people paying attention to her in a huge filling up auditorium.
I thought she was cute and generic electro punk chick sound at the time. And then she went huge.

The Promo CDr lists it as "Rock Version", so that would be the closest thing to a proper, correct labelling of that version (the CDs had no mention of it being any different from the Confessions version, and the Spotify version had it listed as "I Love New York - Live").
    https://www.discogs.com/release/15519652-Madonna-Im-Going-To-Tell-You-A-Secret
Despite this it is commonly known that this rock version is an early version. It was probably mastered for the live album, just like how Back That Up got mastered when its demo got released.

Yes it was. Most of Dallas Austin's work from Bedtime Stories was remixed near the end of the album completion in hopes to give it more of a pop feel, less urban.
Daniel Abraham reworked "Keep On" as "Don't Stop", and "Honesty" was reworked as "Your Honesty". Though as we know only "Don't Stop" made it to the album. "Your Honesty" was then set to appear on the 2003 boxset that got scrapped and the song instead appeared on Remixed and Revisited.
Secret is the only song that appeared on the album with Austin's production intact. Let Down Your Guard and Freedom were later released, but as rare tracks, and Right on Time was left unreleased.

But that's because Bowie is dead. And you know how happy are to 'open vaults' and release every single cassette they found while hoovering the studio, under a sofa.
But Madonna is precious about this stuff and perfectionist. that's why we don;t have any of the special anniversary boxes with new material and demos.

correct, I never had it named as demo. Maybe it's because it has a similar sound to the instrumental demo. And someone somewhere  add that demo bit.

It’s completely polished and finished, they just chose to update the sound to fit in on Confessions.

Let Down Your Guard is on the Secret single.
Your Honesty is on Remixed & Revisited.
Both are Madonna projects, both are officially released.
    The end.

They totally can rework a demo to complete the track and make it sound like a finished song.
They have multitrack so it's not very difficult to work on it. Do we know if Your honesty was totally finished in 1994 ?
    Just hoping.

My experience  from TV programs and other documented material I always tried to find from when I was a kid , most part of the times I found it was lost, damaged or destroyed for lack of storage. Maybe it was stuff from the 50-70s as @me1981mentioned.
"(..) It would take years, but when Malden eventually assumed the post of Television Archive Selector in 1979, she had educated herself on the BBC’s stern and unsentimental methods for dealing with the bulk of their content. Because shows weren’t often repeated, there was no long-term need to retain them. And because videotape was an expensive storage medium at the time, it was far more sensible to reuse cassettes rather than buy new ones. The company kept a bulk-erasure machine on hand to systematically wipe out shows that were believed to have exhausted their usefulness. Reams of paperwork indicated a large chunk of their content was rubber-stamped into destruction using just three words: “no further interest.”
    Also in wiki:
There is lost material in all genres — as late as the early 1990s, a large number of videotaped children's programmes from the 1970s and 1980s were irretrievably wiped by the BBC archives on the assumption that they were of "low priority", without consulting the BBC children's department itself
I remember reading similar stuff about Spanish TV were I was raised. Most part of programs were lost or damaged because of bad storage.
I guess from the 90s with digital recording this wasn't much of an issue.
But hey, maybe the US were better at this.

People keep mentioning demos in these releases, but have we ever had an official demo of anything released?
Seriously, I always thought Madonna never wanted to put out unfinished or demo versions. We've had new edits and unreleased mixes, but I can't recall any demos. Or did we?

Well she didn't, someone used it in a tiktok and uploaded without permission in Spotify, so they learn the lesson quick after Frozen and instead of sue them, the ride with it.

unreleased is not a demo, it's unreleased. Your Honesty, it's properly produced.
We had non official leaks of demos and we have non official leaks of unreleased tracks, we know the difference.
ROL demo assembly are demos, they sound like demos, same with lots of the Hard Candy, Rebel Heart.
Maybe we need more people making viral obcure tracks.
