An original black and white studio photograph of Madonna taken by Edo Bertoglio, with yellow, green, and red-toned tinting on the hair and lips. The photograph was taken in the Hellmuth Building on 18th Street in New York in April 1983. The purpose of the shoot was for the cover of Madonna’s first album Lucky Star that was eventually changed to Madonna (Sire/Warner Bros., 1983).PROVENANCE From the Estate of Martin Burgoyne

Yes, I'm glad you dived into this more.  I touched on this a little bit, earlier on in the thread.  But, I didn't post all the pics from the initial album shoot.  You've provided more info behind it.  So thanks again.  Feel free to update this thread with more Debut album info, pics and insight you have!:heart:

  • Adonna changed the title to Madonna's DEBUT ALBUM 40th Anniversary: promo performances, demos, rare photos, interviews, remixes & more!

Warner Europe (WEA) insisted that Rusty Egan (of Visage fame and DJ at the very influential New Romantic club Blitz in London in the early 80's) remixed the track for the UK market. It was remixed at famous Trident Studios with Steve Short as sound engineer and released in a plain all black sleeve in February 1983. Madonna did not like the result.  After trying to make the best of it, in an early 1983, she finally said what she really thought about this remix in her first interview for THE FACE magazine a few weeks later when that remix flopped.
