30th Anniversary Bedtime Stories Poll

81 members voted

  1. 1. Favorite SONG from the album?

  2. 2. Favorite VIDEO from the album?

Recommended Posts

We've had many discussions regarding this album over the years, including more recently with the 30th Anniversary coming up on Oct. 25th.  I thought it would be interesting and timely to Poll Infinity members, asking what is their favorite song and favorite video from BEDTIME STORIES?  Also, feel free to add your thoughts or memories surrounding this album's release and/or singles choices, etc.  Which song and video will reign as most popular among the Infinity members?  Will it be something you chose?  Let's begin....

And here is the 1994 IN HOUSE Promo video directed at Warner Bros.

Bedtime Story: the song, music video, remixes, Brits performance, Reinvention video, and Celebration performance. Top tier M.

I will die on the hill that it is one of her finest pieces ever. And personally rate it higher than some of her biggest chart toppers.

Make Madonna Bjork Again.

Bedtime story song - i think its the only song that has stood the test of time from this era - the rest of it sounds very dated imo and i dont like that dull droning 90's r n b sound anyway (same goes for most of HC too) video was  tough choice as i love both BS and HN  - HN one as its more fun and i love the choreography in it too

Bedtime Story is so overrated to me. It doesn’t even sound like a Madonna song. It’s pure Bjork.

Admittedly, I do love the remixes (not the Mark Picchiotti ones, though).

Human Nature is one of my favourite Madonna songs and videos, not just from this album, so it was an easy pick for me.

The Bedtime Stories era as a whole was something I didn’t “get” at the time, and for many years/decades later - but I have come to really appreciate the aesthetic and sonic sensibilities much more in recent years.

the Bedtime Stories video is a work of art, but I chose Human Nature because it feels more “Madonna”.

I went with Secret as my favourite track (the others are Inside of me and Love tried to welcome me: the thing I like the most from this album is the intimistic/melancholic tone combine with such a sensual sound, I'll die if she ever record a track with that lulluby-like whispered singing) and Human Nature favourite video (I think her irony, grit and elegance here are at the top).

I think it's one of her most underrated albums, the writing and the production are among her best, even if not experimental as in many other works (the only  experimentalish tracks are Inside of me, Sanctuary and Bedtime Story imo). I precisely remember when it came out, I was at my fourth high school year and I left two hours earlier to reach the records shop and buy it, so I could be home for lunch and close the world, the school, the phone (when doin' it was still possible) and my parents out of that door, put my earphones on and enjoy it. I remember it as the one I appreciated the most at my first listening with LAP and ROL (I still think these are actually all very easy listening and good quality albums). The only track I would have really thrown out of the window (and I still would) was Don't stop.
