You just know she hates that she didn’t write 50% of her biggest streaming hits and that her top tracks are Material Girl and Hung Up that she has to pay large royalties on the sample for.
Love my frugal mom.

Unfortunately M's way of creating art isn't too much shared by the masses from nowadays... They'd rather go for something more stereotypical than something which would come right from her mind... This is the world as we live in...

I feel like this song has become forgotten over time.  Even though not a single, radio played it from time to time.  I believe it was being considered a single back in the day, but Who's That Girl ended the True Blue singles.  It probably would have been a great way to promote it with the You Can Dance album that came later that year.  I believe it would have been a huge smash if it was released.  Radio did play Spotlight, but there was no push for that song to be a single other than in Japan.

I heard Where’s the Party on the radio all the time. As a kid I thought it was an official single. While we’re on the subject, does anyone know what she says at the very end and why there’s a baby crying? I’ve always wondered about that.

While I knew it was a single, I heard it many times on the radio, and was actually surprised to hear it.  But then radio was more apt to play some of her non-singles.  I also remember my local top 40 radio played the full I'm Breathless album from start to finish when it was first released.

That’s interesting. Mine played Erotica in full (except for Did You Do It). I remember loving Fever at the time. It was a Hartford station.

I assume her numbers are sky rocketing with the hype around the tour ?

She's still riding the "Popular" wave and high thanks to that, but I've noticed some of her tour songs are growing faster than before, obviously, like "Don't Tell Me" or "Die Another Day".

Anyway, the tour is amazingly NON Spotify friendly. :Madonna009: I love how she's almost completely ignored her all time Top 10 and left out: "Material Girl", "Popular", "4 Minutes", "Frozen" (Sickick or album!) and even "Like A Virgin" is just an interlude. She's so punk for doing that in a world where it's all about Spotify and numbers, I loved it.

Interesting.

They never played it here in the states. Or at least where I lived in California (major city).

Isn't it Siedah Garrett going, 'I've got Madonna!' and then her doing a snorted silly laugh

This is so the Madonna thing to do.  She constantly bucks conventional ways of doing things.  This is why I love her.  While the tour does lean on some of her Greatest Hits, but it's not necessarily such a tour.  Rather she decided to tell a story with her songs and that makes the show even more interesting.  :luv:

It is. Everyone expected the "Material Girl"s, the Frozen Sickicks, the "4 Minutes", the "Popular"s... and yet she goes and does her own thing.

That's why Madonna is Madonna. Gotta love and admire her guts.

They really need to merge the Holiday from Celebration with the Holiday on the first album. It's still the wrong mix and it would bump numbers too.

They had the chance to do it when they released the "Borderline" digital single and finally fixed the album version on the "Madonna" album, but they didn't do the same with "Holiday". I think they want to keep the edit cause it's in lots of playlists already...
