If anyone has upgraded to ISO17 when you play an album on Apple Music  that has the moving artwork it shows that while playing now which is a nice fun cool touch. Especially on TIC as it still has rubbish bad artwork.

It really is fascinating reading all the detailed information on Lucky Star and Borderline. Thank you to everyone that clarifies everything it's so helpful.  For me personally I always loved the version of Lucky Star on the VHS "Madonna" which has the echo on the "He Yeahs" which is think is an edit of the extended / New / US Mix. I also had the 'It's That Girl' cassette back in the day and so that was my go to version of  "Borderline" with the additional echos. Whichever version of Borderline plays I still do the echo in my head even when it's not there. I can't say I noticed much else as I must not have the same ear as others. I never knew about the cowbell or even heard it until this thread ha ha.
I love having all the official single edits / mixes in a playlist  but I also make my own singles playlist with the versions I like best so win all round for me.

Even though I am absolutely unable to retain all this super specific information on each version of each song, I enjoy it so much to read it every few week/months. I don’t know why but I love it

The video version / 7" edit is not an edit of the album version…
    it is…cause it’s the original 7" Version.
I don’t know how many times this has to be discussed but no. The version of STR uploaded on streaming is the version from The Immaculate Collection.
That said, if they were to update STR with the correct version, it still wouldn’t be the original 7" Edit.
Crazy for You has 4 official versions and they are
    - Soundtrack Version 4:12
    - Edit/Fade 3:58 (Video Version, released on 7" Singles)
    - Q-Sound Mix 3:46
    - New Edit [1995 Remaster] 4:04
Finally someone who got it right. I wanted to rip my hair out reading the 1000th discussion about the Borderline versions a few pages back.

The YouTube video you posted IS the 7" single version/video version. I think on some releases it was labeled radio remix or radio version. Record companies aren't great at being consistent with what they call remixes (i.e. US mix vs. New Mix vs. extended mix vs. extended version, etc.).
That version, the It's That Girl version, The Immaculate Collection version and the Celebration version are all very similar in structure and length (approx. 4 minutes). That's what makes it super confusing. The same with "Lucky Star". There are several different versions that are all very similar in length (although the structures aren't as similar to each other as the structures of all the "Borderline" versions).  And don't get me started on "Human Nature" with it's radio version vs radio edit, one of which is a totally different remix altogether.
Anywho, these are the versions of "Borderline" that I know of, which we also recounted several pages back in this same thread:
album version 5:18 New mix a.k.a. US remix a.k.a extended remix  ~7:00 single version a.k.a. edit a.k.a radio version a.k.a remix (no cowbell, used in the video) ~4:00 Brazilian single version (an edit of the album version, but not exactly the same structure as the single version) also ~4:00 It's that Girl version (w/ cowbell & echo-y vocal and drum effects) also ~4:00 The Immaculate Collection version (same as single version, but with cowbell & Q-Sound effects, but no echo-y vocal and drum effects) also ~4:00 Celebration version a.k.a 7" version on streaming platforms (super similar to TIC version, but with some echo-y vocal and drum effects, but not exactly the same as the It's That Girl version) also ~4:00 Clear as mud?

jemboy1973 reacted to Adonna in MADONNA AND WARNER MUSIC GROUP ANNOUNCE MILESTONE, CAREER-SPANNING PARTNERSHIP!!
I'm sorry, no disrespect to you and you're not the first to share this sediment about Warner, but I just have to laugh when someone calls Warner "lazy"?  It's a bit dramatic, don't you think?  Especially knowing how massively huge and successful they are.  The years and years they've been in business!  The many artists they back and the many things they release even without their artists' permission, depending on their contract and control of their own catalog.
You have to remember, Madonna has a lot of say in what happens with her catalog.  This is why we rarely see her music whored out to non related Madonna soundtracks, decade compilations or for commercials or ads.  You can bet if Madonna relinquished all rights to her catalog to Warner, they'd have released multiple GH's compilations, box set, etc. by now.  Warner isn't lazy here.  It isn't even about who is lazy. It's about Madonna controlling how her music is preserved and not allowing her work to be cut up, sliced and diced in a way that doesn't respectfully represent the original work released.  I know fans want more, and this might change with this new Warner deal, but it still is under Madonna's terms.  It may not be how you wish it to be, but it's her work, and while she's still alive, I think it's only fair that she has a right to have a say in how her work is being represented.  I'm sure she realizes at this time in her career, fans are probably expecting some goodies, but again I'm sure while she's still breathing, she's going to do it the way she wants, not how fans want it.  That's how she's always operated. No one is being lazy here.  It's about her idea of respectfully preserving her work.  She's no fool to making money either, so I'm sure she knows exactly what she's doing here by not re-releasing and whoring out her music to just anyone and letting them do what they want with it.  And keep in mind, just because you may not like it, doesn't mean others won't.

I know what you mean. It wasn't really until 1986 that I started buying her albums and singles.  But when I did, I was like a rabid dog trying to get everything up to that point.  Before then, I taped songs from the radio, checked out her albums from the Library and recorded them and so forth.

I discovered one of my favorite Gloria Estefan songs (Don't Let This Moment End)  is on streaming and that single has 21 remixes and 2 mega mixes. I know it's a different music company but still, 23 tracks is huge.
