Lol yup. Happy for the folks who want this, but not only is it pointless, I despise the remix version. Still don’t understand how it was such a hit internationally. Kills the song’s charm imo.

Here’s hoping DAD or DYU are still coming down the pipeline later. Even OYH if they include the cute UK 7” mix.

I agree but it's just a question of having her whole catalog online.

True Blue being my least favourite single she released in the 80's and that remix made it worst. The only reason she wasn't sued by the Chappel of love writers is because Seymour Stein owned the rights to the song i guess. Repeating the bridge (a Bray/Ciccone favourite) wasn't necessary. That song is at least a minute too long to be barable.

Let Down Your Guard is on the Secret single.

Your Honesty is on Remixed & Revisited.

Both are Madonna projects, both are officially released.

    The end. :kiss2:

I agree but LDYG is on the Secret single only in certain territories.

I wonder if this is really happening, if we can expect her to release what could be bonus material from her albums as stand alone releases instead of doing the usual deluxe version.

Warner who is now in charge of Bowie's back catalogue (but not via Rhino though) released a demo/unused material/ B sides version of Ziggy Stardust for RSD last april  then they released a complete box set in june

Yes, Holiday is listed in my post. It was held off the number 1 spot by Into The Groove. And Borderline was re-released 1st Jan 1986.

It's insane, i know WEA (warner europe) funded her contract (as told by Seymour Stein in Siren Song, he signed her but Mo Ostin, head of warner us was not interested so he got the money from wea whose head was a japanese businessman) but they might have killed her career by saturating the market like this.

  4. She must have her own copies, maybe more polished ones. She must have tons of tapes since she spent almost 2 years in the Music Building writing and recording all day.

For instance i remember reading Gambler was a rework of a song called Ambush she did with Leslie Ming from BT Express. There are also collabs with Nervus Rex and Kenny Compton's band Ike Yard...all while at the Music Building

Yes, there was no getting away from her in 1985! She had eight singles in the charts...

    • Like A Virgin (peaked at #3 on 06 Jan 1985)
    • Material Girl (March, #3)
    • Crazy For You (June, #2)
    • Into The Groove (July, #1)
    • Holiday [re-issue] (Aug, #2)
    • Angel (Sept, #5)
    • Gambler (Oct, #4)
    • Dress You Up (Dec, #5)

It's strange that Warner Bros gave the greenlight to saturated the UK market with singles from several projects (Like A Virgin, The First Album, and movie soundtrack singles), but they took a different approach in the US denying single releases for Into The Groove and Gambler due to not wanting to detract from the Like A Virgin singles campaign.

Didn't they managed to re-release Holiday and Borderline as well ? Like early 86 ?

Was that the young girl who was stalking her or was that someone else?

I'm sure I remember reading about a girl who was always around and M actually attacked her (there's a picture of her being held back) floating around online.

She was obsessed by Madonna and was like 15, Madonna's entourage was aware of her so she sent her younger brother instead to as ask for an autograph or a picture.

it was a single in 1985 in Italy they released both a 7 " and a 12" posterbag and as a 7" in the Philippines in 1986

I meant a worldwide release with a video. It's better than Dress You Up and it's written by her, the lyrics are empowering.

She tried to serve it again with GMAYL but with bad production and lyrics 😈

  8. My favourite bit when i was a pre teen was that time when she shoved a 10 Y/O fan while walking in nyc. People were outraged, i thought it was awesome. I was never a fan because she's sweet, i'm a fan because she's a bad bitch.

You know all these american popstars pretending to be nice are fake as fuck. The only one i believe to be behind doors like she presents herself ipublicly is Celine Dion (and i'm no fan of her songs). You don't call fans "friends" and charge them plenty. Popstars are not our friends. Stop selling this idea to kids.

I tought they where friends one day. I don't get their story. Some say they got on bad terms together some say they where never friends.

They were friends in the late 80's until Madonna stole Ingrid (who was sandra's girlfriend) from her. Since They made up at the Kaballah center when Sandra was still a member ( before madonna). But she's still being asked about these 4 years in her life 36 years ago.

  10. I wonder if she's interested in making music now, she does not have deadlines because of a contract, she's not forced to make a record anymore.

She said she wasn't into making the 3 albums before Madame X while promoting it, maybe she wasn't into it either but wasn't gonna say it while promoting it anyway. It's been 5 years, longest break and she still has no recording contract.

  11. I once dated a plastic surgeon and his motto was "remove but never add" (that's why i removed him from my life...kidding)

I can't help thinking  her health scare in june 2023 was related to a procedure gone wrong. Her face and butt looked different, better and more natural when she reemerged. The fact that she's not filling her face since (as she kept doing it after the Grammys on pics from the rehearsals so she wasn't that disturbed by the hoopla it caused) makes me think something went wrong and maybe that was her saving grace. But her plastic surgery is like Kaballah, just because it is more "demure" now it does not mean that it's not there.

Maybe it’s my age, but the only thing I knew Patti from was, Life Goes On. A late 80s TV show.

To me and my generation, Madonna is Evita.

Patti is talented, but she falls into the Mariah Carey, Gaga and Elton John talent section:

Talented, but awful, bitter personalities that make you not want to listen to them).

I don't believe gaga and mariah fall into the bitter section, they, after all, were responding to attacks Madonna made first, at least Mariah did (i'm no fan of either gaga or mariah), i think gaga became publicly bitter after the "reductive" comment. Elton John, Cher and Debbie Harry it's because when she came into the scene their careers were nosediving as hers was soaring. Elton John became more bitter after she declined dueting with him on his first duets album then there was the James Bond theme she got and he was never asked even though he made one on an album of his and the last straw was her Oscar party even though they are not happening at the same time. Debbie Harry tried to ride her coattail by first working with Jellybean because she liked Into The Groove but she did not know he had no input in it. It ended badly, only feel the spin was released from these sessions and they really had a big fallout. She then popped up at Madonna events with Stephen Sprouse. Thing is Madonna praised them both many times. I think Cher was also nasty because she was friends with Sean first and took his side, like many celebrities (David Bowie regretted mocking the abuse she was subjected to by sean on a Tin Machine track, he later apologized for it saying he was hanging out with Sean at the time)

But yeah, me too, she's the mother of Corky for me too :)

And i really dislike Evita with or without Madonna. If Madonna had not been in it you could have paid me millions to watch that shitfest, i wouldn't have had.
