I didn't take what you posted as "hate" towards the album.  Though, I do know some seem to use the fact some of her music hasn't "aged well" as a criticism.  I guess, I don't see it as such because in most cases for most artists, they are always at least trying to keep up with the times, and not necessarily thinking... "oh this will be timeless".  Also, there are plenty of timeless songs that sound dated. Anyway, I love music in general, so I try to enjoy it the most I can.
 

I understand what you're saying. I didn't mean my post as a hate towards Hard Candy. Of course, it's an album that's not on par with her best works, but I enjoy it usually during warm days. It's a nice summer album for me with only one song I truly despise (Spanish Lesson). 
The point of my comment was only a simple comparison that her album that was released 10 years later (2008) actually sounds much more dated in 2025 than anything on Ray of Light from 1998.
But we all know why it is... Timbaland/Pharell sound hasn't really aged well in general in pop music. 

Not necessarily a disagreement.  Just an alternate thought here from my perspective.  I don't mind that some music has "aged" because that's all part of life. Nothing stays fresh or current forever.  Meanwhile those songs that don't transition well in the current music climate, are still fun and nostalgic for a lot of people.  In no way, do I claim Hard Candy is close to being her best album.  But there are elements of that album I appreciate and love. It definitely was an album of it's time and I don't mind she's done that from time to time.  Especially knowing this is a woman who started in the 80's and still doing her own thing. 

What's even more fascinating is that this song was released 27 (!! - like I was 10yo at that time !!) years ago and sound absolutely fresh even in 2025. Absolute timeless classic! If there is a music definition of "aged as a fine wine", it must be Frozen. I cannot imagine any other song by Madonna or any other artist.
(while every song from Hard Candy, released 10 years later aged like a milk)

WiFLFAG, Forbidden Love and Impressive Instant all sound so brand new. I can't believe that no one thought to mash Rescue Me with Move Your Body til now. It works so perfectly. And this version of Future Lovers inspired by the Confessions Tour. The album version always gave me blue balls. That little bit of "I Feel Love" just seals the deal and takes it to Mars.

It's very well done, in fact, his entire Celebration re-works were amazing!

This made me laugh..The craziest thing about this is I still have this packed away somewhere in my attic on VHS...lol🤣

Yeah but this was the one image that sucked 😂 Also, they used this and then nothing else from the shoot. Instead, they dyed the Mario Testino shoot green and used that for the back.

We got Material Girl when there was nothing new on it.  Who ever said there was some sort of limitation that they would only release singles with unreleased songs?  That never happened.  Like A Virgin had nothing new.  True Blue had nothing new.  You don’t know what’s coming so don’t definitively say that something isn’t.
It’s my personal opinion that even if it’s a one track single (like Everybody) that’s just the 2027 Remastered Version, that it’s probably going to be released at some point.

Of course we remember this, it was a lovely interview, what we didn’t remember was @Stanley rewriting history… 

If it hadn’t been included on Music there would have actually been an incentive to buy GHV2. I’d have dropped Argentina it’s so out of place on that record and we could have done with another uptempo instead of a low energy song. 

I love Funana and B-Day Song, they’re fun songs! Catchy and both kinda silly. The only album I have a hard time pressing play and listening to in full is MDNA, idk it just doesn’t click with me like Beautiful Killer is a dumb song fight me.
To me the last really amazing song was… this is tough but I like Crave. Those 3 C songs in a row are such a sweet spot on that album.

Another fan of the AL rap here. I remember when I first heard  snippet of it on the news (coverage due to her pulling the video) and being horrified by it, thinking it was lame. But I grew very quickly to love it. AL (the album) as a whole is one of the Madonna albums I revisit most. 

I think STR was her choice - they needed something to bridge the gap between BS and a new album. GHV2 was probably more Warner than her - she was hot again, in demand, and they would have wanted to cash in on that - likewise with Celebration - although I think that was probably her as she did record new material for it - but again she was hot property in demand again.
