  1. Hi! My first post... Here's some tea on original plans for the WTG tour in 1987. There was going to be a date in Basel, Switzerland on August 31 1987, but negotiations fell through because the Swiss organisers were unwilling to pay the $1m Madonna and her team demanded. The show that took place on August 31 1987 in Nice, France, was Switzerland's replacement. (Source: Andrew Morton's 2002 biography) The legendary Paris concert (which remains Madonna's most attended show and the most attended show in France) would have been cancelled if Sceaux's mayor (Parc de Sceaux is in the town of Sceaux, in the city of Paris) had his way. Then President Jacques Chirac overruled him and gave the concert the go-ahead because his daughter was a huge Madonna fan at the time. Humphrey Metrodome, but was moved to the St Paul Civic Center due to slow ticket sales.
