Being angry at or mocking fans for wanting all the old singles on streaming would be the equivalent of being angry in the mid 90s when the original 80s singles were reissued on CD (the Yellow singles). "But I already got them on vinyl!". AND? What's the point in complaining about that? The more accessible her material is, for old and new generations, the better, right? And streaming is the most accessible format now. No one is asking for all the old vinyls, cassettes and CDs to BURN in hell, let's also keep them, thank you very much.30 points

Mirwais Q&A on Instagram
artofdarkness and 22 others reacted to cosmic_system for a topic
So Mirwais did a Q&A on his Instagram Stories and he of course talked about Madonna. The most interesting things: -His fav Madonna collaboration is American Life (song). -He would love to do an updated American Life (album). -Can’t You See My Mind is different from Die Another Day and it’s NOT a ballad. -His fav Madonna production is Die Another Day. -It’s true that the first version of X-Static Process was electro. -There are some unreleased songs. -He learned patience from Madonna and she learned patience from him. -There’s a version of Paradise with Letitia Casta (recorded before Madonna entered the picture) but Madonna changed it and her version is the best version of the song. -He would love to work with her again.23 points -
Single Reissues Campaign - Who's That Girl - OUT NOW
valinecode and 18 others reacted to Aiwa08 for a topic
It's That Girl on CD and double vinyl would be a dream for many collectors. We must insistently ask Rhino for it. Right now, it's the item I want the most as a collector. I did my own It's that Girl replicating the original cassette thanks to my UK 7'' vinyls (except Borderline, It's recreated from a 12'' vinyl). "The actor explained at a recent SiriusXM Town Hall that he and the movie's director, Shawn Levy, had a “personal meeting with Madonna” to show the pop icon the sequence in which the song would be used in the film." “Also, let's preface it with the fact that they don't license — Madonna doesn't just license the song, and particularly that song has not been licensed,” Reynolds pointed out. “So it was a big deal to ask for it and certainly a bigger deal to use it... We went over and met with her and showed her how it was being used and where and why.” Reynolds also revealed that, in addition to letting them use the track in the movie, Madonna — who has directed films like 2011's W.E. — gave them some feedback on how to make the scene better. "And she gave a great note," he recalled. "My God, she watched it and, I'm not kidding, just was like, ‘You need to do this, this, and this in this moment.' And damn it, if she wasn't like spot-on and right." https://ew.com/ryan-reynolds-met-madonna-for-permission-to-use-music-in-deadpool-and-wolverine-8681146?taid=669c276ff2c910000169bc35&utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly_entertainmentweekly&utm_content=new&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com On GMA Ryan Reynolds confirmed that LAP is in movie!!15 points

Absolute trash. He can't style, light or set a scene like any of the other greats she's worked with. The overuse of filters is a giveaway that his images have little to know substance to begin with. He has degraded the royalty of what was once her brand. One is an icon, the other is simply, a con.13 points

Well he's one of the people responsible for the decline or her image and weird social media so I think hes a gaga fan infiltrated on her camp. Also this interview makes he sounda like a Asshole? I never buy t-shirts of my favorite artists, but this one is just fuckin' awesome. I just got an email from her official store, alerting me that since I purchased the Silver Vinyl of LAP, that I could purchase with the t-shirt w/ Free shipping. I jumped at it. What a kick ass t-shit this is. It's wrapped aroung the 35th Anniversary of LAP which was a few months back, but this makes me wonder if there is more to come.11 points

VULTURE: What It’s Like to Work With Madonna on a Movie Set
remixed224 and 10 others reacted to deathproof for a topic
FASCINATING READ! https://www.vulture.com/article/what-its-like-to-work-with-madonna-on-a-movie-set.html highlights: Madonna and Trump Foley was planning to shoot a scene in front of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, and Donald Trump apparently stipulated that he wanted a paparazzo shot with her in hopes of making the New York Post. Madonna initially refused, launching years of scorn directed at the real-estate cheat. (“He’s a wimp,” she told Interview in 1990 when asked about his budding presidential prospects.) But Foley insisted, knowing that Warner Bros. had already negotiated access to the building. “It was one of those moments where I had to say, ‘You gotta do this,’” he says. “I don’t think she made eye contact with him.” Madonna considered for Ruthless People “At that dinner, we were all mesmerized by her,” Jerry says. It would have been an opportunity for Madonna to go over-the-top, to kick and scream and scheme. But something didn’t click. The audience needed to believe her husband hated her, and Madonna showed too much charm to drive a man away. Plus, at 27, she still seemed a bit young to play a housewife. Eventually, everyone agreed it wasn’t the right fit. Madonna and Spike Lee After the back-to-back bombs Body of Evidence and Dangerous Game, casting Madonna wasn’t exactly in vogue. “I didn’t give a fuck,” Lee says. “She’s who I had in mind, and she wanted to do it, so that was it. She’s a pro.” Ever since, they’ve had a symbiotic back-and-forth. Madonna’s team gave Lee a discount on a couple of Ray of Light tracks he wanted to use in his Netflix adaptation of She’s Gotta Have It, and he gave her feedback on the script for the since-canned biopicthat she was going to direct about herself. Lee says she also gave him a friendly talking-to when his son, Jackson, was apparently pursuing Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes. “She said, ‘Spike, your son is bothering my daughter,’” Lee laughs Chicago Weinstein also floated the idea of casting Janet Jackson, Poster says, but it never went anywhere. Imagine Chicago starring Janet and Madonna! Image change for Evita “We had this really candid conversation with Liz Rosenberg,” says a former Disney marketing executive, referring to Madonna’s former longtime publicist, “and said, ‘She’s going to have to transform over the next year.’ If you go back and look at what she wore to public events, she was sort of buttoned-up. Liz saw the wisdom in an image shift.” According to Peter Adee, another Disney marketing veteran, Madonna was one step ahead of Rosenberg. She understood that softening the reputation that Sexand the R-rated album Erotica had given her a few years earlier was essential to winning over highbrow Hollywood types, especially because gossip hounds were calling her first pregnancy a PR stunt. (“Some people have suggested that I have done this for shock value,” she said. “These are comments only a man would make. It’s much too difficult to be pregnant and bring a child into this world to do it for whimsical or provocative reasons.”) Disney sold Evita as an elegant love story above all else, and Madonna partnered with fashion brands like Bloomingdale’s, Dior, Ferragamo, and Estée Lauder for in-store displays and cosmetic lines that gave the campaign an upscale sheen. She weighed in on every detail. Forever indebted to the Old Hollywood luminaries she idolized, Madonna remade herself the way Elizabeth Taylor would have. “There are times in advertising where you wink, wink, nod, nod — you make fun of it,” Addee says, referring to Madonna’s spotty acting résumé. “We never did. We sold it as Evita starring Madonna, basically saying, ‘This is something new.’”11 points -

To be honest, I’ve been making playlists of all my favourite artists and most of the legacy acts don’t have their past remixes/b-sides handled any better than Madonna. In fact, she’s one of the better ones. Michael Jackson for example does not even have his old remixes/singles uploaded at all. Kylie is missing all the singles pre 2004. Janet Jackson has some uploaded but way too many missing. I think what Madonna has done is quite fantastic as most of the best remixes are at least available now.10 points -

“Madonna is reissuing LIKE A PRAYER this summer to celebrate the acclaimed album’s 35th anniversary. Pressed on opaque silver vinyl, it will be the second release from the Silver Collection, a series of limited-edition vinyl reissues celebrating 40 years of Madonna’s illustrious career. The Silver Collection debuted last year with True Blueand will continue to spotlight other Madonna albums in the coming months.” Madonna has worked particularly hard for months personally curating just the right colour of silver for the vinyl. Sorry to keep this going in here... This is the last. But I want to offer advice to @Adonna and I want to do it publicly for transparncy. Let me just offer some advice for you. Because it's no secret that people have strong feelings about you and this may help. When you are engaging in conversation, you tend to come across as a "know it all". And you seem to post on every single thread. I think people's frustrations stem from their perspective that you are trying to dominate the entire forum. Pair that with your writing tone that you and only you know the right answer to everything it becomes exhausting. You also tend to use phrases like "we all know" "at the end of the day" "let's not forget" that seem like you are speaking for everyone. No one likes that. It may seem innocent, but it indirectly invalidates someone else's opinion when you contradict everything they say while saying it in a tone that you know better than them. (We are all guilty of it, I do it sometimes too)9 points

Thankfully she didn’t do something as dumb and annoying as the climate terrorist. T***** S**** in general copied her entire marketing strategy from KPOP. The latter is a highly manufactured and synchronized music industry. They are focusing 100% on marketing strategies without substance to profit off the fanbase and increase their obsession. Swifties were easy victims for that crap.9 points

James19709 and 8 others reacted to androiduser for a topic
As a Gaga fan - Lady Gaga is the most Madonna-coded major pop star, partly from genuine admiration, partly from fanatical obsession... But I do think that she has developed into something different and I don't really see many similarities anymore. Gwen Stefani looks similar and finds inspiration in the same Hollywood era as Madonna, but in my opinion the credit goes to Jean Harlow, Marilyn etc who inspired both Madonna and Gwen.9 points
