Poor "Lucky Star". Very little love from the fans:

All singles are great, actually I think many people just now start to realize how really good this album is, better than Like A Virgin and deserved more. Maybe fans should buy it for 40th anniversary globally and we could make it to number one, just like with Bedtime Stories

@proxyIt is a great album. I prefer it over LAV album. Still love LAV though, but it's just one great dance song after another. And I like the idea that we encourage people to buying it to get it #1 at least on the pop digital charts. The problem is, some are so against those tactics, but I don't see why we can't show our support for her first album turning 40.

One of the few positive reports, not looking to slight her, regarding her lastst health issue and tour postponement.

Deborah explains her quick photo session in 1982 with Madonna. Said she was all made up, exchanged a few words and they were done in about 15 minutes.

The Rainbow Edition of FEL arrived earlier today. Everything is exactly the same as the original, except the colored discs and the image sleeves match each colored disc. The orange sleeve doesn't exist in the original, yet the original has a black image sleeve instead. I can't help to think this is the way it was meant to be!

In 1982, while Madonna was still looking for a record deal, Richard Cordman met Madonna and photographed her. He considered this his best work ever:

Rolling Stone shared an update on Madonna’s health along with comments from some of her friends, wishing her well. Much of this is a RECAP for most who have kept up to date:
Madonna’s famous friends (and fans) are thinking of her! On Wednesday, the singer’s manager Guy Oseary announced that the singer was in recovery after suffering from a “serious bacterial infection” that required her to stay in the ICU. By Thursday afternoon, a source told Rolling Stone that the singer was “at home and feeling better.”
“Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” Oseary wrote, adding that the start of her Celebration Tour would be postponed. Soon after, her fans and numerous celebrities, including Jon Batiste, Rosie O’Donnell, and Rita Wilson, shared their well-wishes for the musician on social media.
O’Donnell, a close friend of Madonna’s, made an Instagram feed post about the singer, sharing a photo of the two during her Nineties talk show. “She’s feeling good,” she wrote, using the hashtag “love.”
Debi Mazar, also a longtime friend of the singer, shared an update on her health, posting a throwback photo with Madge. “Get well sis! Rest, restore, reboot! Strongest gal I know,” she wrote. “To all of her fans- Madonna is on the mend and home resting.”
“Hope she feels better very soon!” commented Zooey Deschanel on Oseary’s post. “Sending Madonna my prayers for a speedy recovery,” wrote Rita Wilson. “Omg sending her love and healing light! 🙏,” added Frankie Grande.
“TAKE GOOD CARE OF OUR QUEEN,” wrote Drag Race judge and Madonna stan Michelle Visage. Batiste and Ryan Tedder both commented hand-prayer emojis on Oseary’s post, while Evan Rachel Wood typed some heart emojis. Rosie Perez also commented, “Sending prayers and support ❤️❤️❤️.”
Announced in January, the Celebration Tour has been positioned to be a four-decade-spanning greatest-hits show covering Madonna’s extensive catalog. It was originally scheduled to begin on July 15 in Vancouver and would have run through Dec. 1 for a grand-finale show in Amsterdam.

MADONNA HOSPITALIZED! How unfortunate is this? My heart just sinks! Of course, I hope for a speedy recovery. I feel so bad for her; it's like she's been cursed with one thing or another these last few years. Let's all show our support, think positive, and be respectful during her recovery. This could take some time.

26 Years today (June 27th, 1987), Madonna began her 19 City North American leg of WHO'S THAT GIRL WORLD TOUR at the Orange Bowl in Miami Florida.

It was June 22nd, 1996 when Billboard Magazine revealed Madonna's collaboration with her brother-in-law Joe Henry on the Sweet Relief II: Gravity Of The Situation – The Songs Of Vic Chesnutt. "Guilty By Association", the first of many collaborations Madonna would do with Joe. Probably her most rawest and best collab ever. Madonna & Henry would later collaborate on her songs Don’t Tell Me, Jump, The Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You and Falling Free which all have been fan favorites.

@stefo, Like you, this is my favorite and a lot of that is due to the fact, it's more Joe Henry than Madonna. Still, I love those tracks that came from him. I prefer her version of "Don't Tell Me" than his "Don't Stop". The same goes with "Devill.... " . She created something special with those tracks. I can imagine how special or different if she "Madonannized" "Guilty By Association", but it seemed perfect as is.

@tscott absolutely agree about both tracks, even if the best, for what I heard, is still to come: the blues ReInvention early version of Devil is apparently the most interesting and powerful. Who knows if we'll ever get it. The HC version is too Timberlakish, very Cry me a river sound (but that's a problem of the whole album)

On June 21 1993, Madonna’s Rain video premiered on MTV. The video was directed by Mark Romanek, and filmed from May 16 – 19 at an airport hanger in Santa Monica, California. Romanek and Madonna set the video to look like Ryuichi Sakamoto was directing it, giving it a backstage feel. It was entirely shot in black and white and then hand-painted with blue tones.
It’s strange
I feel like I’ve known you before
I want to understand you
More and more
And more
When I’m with you
I feel like a magical child
Everything is strange
Everything is wild
