I can feel you, the disappointment for the final release was huge for me too. When I think and talk about that album I actually consider also the demos. It's the excepionality of that era, the excitement, the sense of absurd and it was definitely the way we experienced those songs. I remember it as a unique experience and when I listen to the demos, wich is quite frequent, I feel like I'm listening to "Rebel Heart". There are songs like WAOM or JOA that I NEVER listen in the album version. I must have heard that solemn bore of WAOM three times at most in ten years   while the Avicii's demo with the title track one are my favourites from the whole session.

For me it is Rebel Heart. There’s some good stuff buried on there but all in all it sounds disjointed and rushed to me.
there’s that saying “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” and for me, Rebel Heart is the opposite of that. The whole is weaker than the sum of its parts imo.
also, I think I’m still just butthurt that a lot of the arrangements I liked from the leaked demos didn’t make it to the final album. Like, I will never get over the Avicii arrangement of Rebel Heart being replaced with the arrangement on the album. And while we’re at it, why is the title track relegated to bonus track status?
Rebel Heart is the most glaring black stain in her catalogue for many reasons for me.

Hard Candy (aged like milk), MDNA (need a proper master, too loud) and Rebel Heart (the demos are light years better)
Madame X is not thaaat bad, but it is totally forgettable. I only like Medellin, lol.

Probably MDNA for me. There are some good songs in it but the only song I think is truly great is Love Spent.
Superstar and B-Day Song never should have been released, they are some of the worst songs she ever did.

MDNA. Half the tracks on the record shouldn't have gone past demo stage.

Rebel Heart is my pick. I will point out that Ghosttown, Messiah and the title track are highlights for me on that album but for the most part, it just drags on and on. It's way too long of an album especially factoring in all of the special editions that extend the length unnecessarily. That album should have been way shorter and should have only been whatever songs she did on the tour including the interludes.

The attitude of some fans that any artist ‘owes’ them anything, or that they are somehow being ripped off by not having deluxe editions etc is bizzare to me.

The fact that fans didn't realise that Human nature was the first digital single reissued and Finally Enough Love the first curated physical project of this deal, still amaze me.

But that's because Bowie is dead. And you know how happy are to 'open vaults' and release every single cassette they found while hoovering the studio, under a sofa.
But Madonna is precious about this stuff and perfectionist. that's why we don;t have any of the special anniversary boxes with new material and demos.

I mean i don't think that ad is a reference to any particular Marilyn or Madonna shoot but obv Iconic is a callback to the Oscars and i get it, it's about putting her as an icon on a pedestal and her falling off it especially given the context of the song so while I think it's boring i understand it. The V shoot just looks like they ran out of ideas especially Madonna is waaaaay older than Marilyn was so it's sort of been there done that and she got the most out of what she could in the early half of her career. I thought Madame X was ridiculous as well and paint by numbers. It would be interesting if she referenced old hollywood stars that suffered ageism and misogyny in their older years like Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Ingrid Bergman, Marlene Dietrich etc. Heck, if she wants something weird and 50s get David Lynch to do something with her! Blue Velvet is definitely something she should've referenced for Madame X.
I am curious if Brigitte Lin in Chungking Express was an inspiration however....
