I found the idea of sorting Celebration into three discs with different themes, as considered at one point, really interesting, so I brainstormed about this a bit.

It’s not only supposed to be controversial songs but also rebellious songs about Madonna fighting against whatever is in her way, against critics, doubters, etc.

Causing a Commotion & Gambler both fit that theme.

I'm relaly loving this idea! The Celebration project had so much potential and I feel it didn't really meet some expectations, but on the other side, it was nice to see a good compilation of her hits. This tracklist really fits an ideal selection.

I also like the idea of calling it "The Holy Trinity" in lieu with The Immaculate Collection.

Would have been cool if they also kept that concept for GHV2 and called it The Second Coming.

You know if it would have been possible, I would have tried to fit these in but the thing is:

Oh Father and Keep It Together were regional singles. The latter was a bit of a hit but not one of her most memorable although I love both of them. Oh Father was already included on STR and that’s honestly were it belongs, not on a GH album.

Bad Girl, imo belongs on STR but got omitted. Looking at Erotica Era singles, Rain and I’ll Remember were the bigger ballad hits. One could consider putting Bad Girl instead of Rain on the album because the latter was already included on STR.

WIFLFAG was already included on GHV2 and even that was a huge stretch because it was easily the most forgettable single. The remix doesn’t keep enough of the original song to be actually considered for a GH compilation. Maybe on a Remix best of.

Nothing Fails was the biggest flop out of all the singles from AL, as much as I love AL and all the songs on it. Being a GH, Nothing Fails really doesn’t qualify.

It's interesting that we are so used to put Justify my Love and Erotica together. Linked to the sex , heavy breathing and talking.

But Justify my love in core and without that video is a love song with a drum roll beat. Not too different from Frozen.

tbf the 2000s didnt have as big of hits as the 80s and 90s.

Blame declining sales, war with Warner and 3 singles per album as standard for her 00’s albums where her 80’s & 90’s albums had 5-6. 
She also didn’t submit much to soundtracks in the 00’s

Die Another Day & American Pie. That’s it. 
Gags didn’t show up til the back end of Hard Candy really.

What would you like to see?

I use iTunes for my collection (although I have everything in lossless stored separately in folders as well). 

My personal collection covers all the singles (including a few promo singles and the ones that were cancelled). I don’t have a personal greatest hits on there as an album but rather as a playlist. The only thing I did is that I added It’s That Girl & She's Breathless to my collection. I use It’s That Girl as a replacement for the Who's That Girl soundtrack. My version of She's Breathless has a few unique edits I made just for fun.

I changed GHV2 entirely cause I absolutely despise that collection. I also made a few unique edits for that compilation as well.

I kept the song selection of Celebration but changed the sequencing to chronological order.

I have this spreadsheet of my singles collection but I’m still completing it. It’s not entirely done yet:
