Me too, although most of mine was the 80s and discovering all those remixes I thought I'd never hear again as they were vinyl only. I still collect older CDs, Maxis and promos, I think I am making up with what I couldn't afford or buy as a kid.

Oh totally same! My goal is to buy Geri's spice girl doll in the british dress! A year or two ago i also bought the Martian Spy Girl action figure from Mars Attacks! Love it so much had it as a kid and broke it so im happy to own it again!

And don't forget Real Media files. Those were shitty. For the longest time, that's the only type of audii videos people shared. And you could only play them in RealMedia software.

Then came Napster.

OMG those were TERRIBLE. All official artists websites used them.

For some reason one of my first memories was spending hours downloading what ended up being a non-official "Beautiful Stranger" Calderone remix video combining the official video with porn footage! I was like WTF.

Anyone remembers that one? xd

Why is no one commenting lol as always? Did we all just collectively accept yesterday that it wasn't coming today at least?

Well, I had ghosted forum another time (I have reasons to do it so), but I must reply to you, my dear idol: I also got sad we won't have this single this year, buaaaahhhh!

Why do I dare to say this version could be actually BETTER than the original one? Lol!

Where can we watch it now? I feel nostalgic.

It was a vibe, I have to admit.

Well if Paul Carrigan or Anthony Gallo were part of the "enhanced version," for sure it'd have been an enhanced to capital E!!!

I can only Imagine Dress You Up is being saved for the 40th Anniversary of Madonnas debut tour The Virgin Tour which is April 10th 2025. In fact with Madonnas tours being a huge part of her legacy it wouldn't surprise me if they launch the beginning of the entire reissues series around this time. Quarter four 2024 will likely be devoted to the Celebration Tour audio and theatrical release.

I honestly wouldn't be mad if they based the reissues around the tours they supported. Bit of a damp spot for Bedtime Stories admittedly. Now the singles are all digitally released I can't see any reason for them to be reissued on a deluxe CD or whatever but I know some of you would like that for a Super Deluxe perhaps. I personally would like shelved mixes, unreleased and maybe even new remixes.

The live tour audios however: I wonder if the hold up with some of the re-issues is Madonna going back over all the many archived professional recordings of her previous tours and fine tuning the audio and maybe even re-editing the concert footage for a new experience. I can't imagine she would want some of those early tour vocals re-issued to the world. I love the rawness but I imagine when watching them back she has other thoughts.

They probably lead with the landmark main album of the era (Like A Virgin, True Blue, Like A Prayer, Erotica, Ray Of Light) but it would be a good way to get the other less headline albums housed in an era. A three punch release per era would be quite the flex. Tour & Two supporting albums.

The Virgin Tour - Like A Virgin + Madonna

Who's That Girl - True Blue & Who's That Girl OST

Blond Ambition - Like A Prayer & I'm Breathless

The Girlie Show - Erotica + Immaculate

Drowned World Tour - Ray Of Light & Music could throw Bedtime in here too technically.

Warner has recently been tying Prince releases in with Live Shows.

Diamonds & Pearls. 1999 and Sign 'O' The Times

Who knows. And are they considering landmark albums as the ones that sold the most or the ones that were cultural touchstones.

Sales wise from 2017 (7 years out of date)

  1. True Blue - 22.5
  2. Like A Virgin - 21.2m
  3. Ray Of Light -16m
  4. Like A Prayer - 14.2m
  5. Music - 10.7m
  6. Madonna  - 9.6m
  7. Confessions - 9.3m
  8. Bedtime Stories - 7.5m
  9. Erotica - 6.8m
  10. I'm Breathless - 6.7m
  11. WTG OST - 5.4m
  12. Hard Candy - 3.6m
  13. American Life - 3.3m
  14. MDNA - 1.8m
  15. Rebel Heart - 0.9m

Makes me lol when fans try to big up Hard Candy. Coming after Confessions it should have absolutely smashed. Instead it sold the same as her biggest flop American Life.

Anyway..just thoughts while we wait.

Madonna and Confessions are totally at well over 10M now

Bedtime maybe even at 9M

WTG soundtrack at over 6M for decades

Hard Candy 4M too

LAP is now officially over 15 M (see Rhino's LAP press news)

TB and LAV are way over those numbers too

in short everything is underestimated lol ( yeah I know it's from 2017, but still, some are wayy off)

The next year singles I will probably not stream just because this is taking too long

So why go out of your way contacting people to make sure things are perfect when you aren't willing to stream the very music you are desperate to get online?  This sort of action, just gives them reason not to upload what you want.  Face it, you're not gonna get everything you want.  That's just part of life.   Besides, It's not like you can't stream/download/play this elsewhere or on your own device.  YOUTUBE has nearly everything.  I agree that it's nice to have an official release, but if you're not gonna stream it when it's upload, then why would they want to bother to upload it in the first place?  Saying it's taking too long isn't gonna change anything. It's just gonna keep it from ever happening if they know people aren't gonna stream it once it's available.

Because the idea is having it this year for me at least if the album anniversary is getting treated this year

I get it.  But nothing is going to be perfect.  I'm guaranteeing you, when enough people do not stream and buy what is provided, the label isn't going to bother to expand.  It may be frustrating to you that it's taking too much time or they aren't providing everything you want, but it is what it is.  You either support her or not. The record label doesn't care if you are missing a silly edit or 7 inch or remix that never was available commercially.  They aren't bothered by you being upset that all her songs, remixes or edits are not available for streaming. They will do as they please.  They aren't going to suffer because the fact is, Madonna is popular enough that even if a few here who act like they represent the majority of her fans aren't going to  harm her career like they think.  People will always seek out her music and mixes.  She is way too famous for just a handful of disgruntle fans to keep her legacy from thriving. Especially when most legacy artists do not have half of what she has available.  It's easy to say, "hey, I'm gonna stop streaming or buying her stuff", but there are too many who still will discover her and enjoy her that will keep her afloat for years to come. :)

Yeah definitely important to remember that a record label will only do anything that they think will make some return. With the singles reissues including the last few left, it's overall low effort for some return. Thats why it's usually just the Maxi. Which I'm pretty happy with.

In terms of errors on albums like Madonna, Like A Prayer, Immaculate Collection and STR, I think they definitely need to be addressed as thats providing an inferior product and not providing the consumer with the true experience, especially audio glitches/errors; Holiday and Spanish Eyes respectively.

Guess enough fans bought the "Who's That Girl" digital single (iTunes, Qobuz, etc. digital sales and not streaming) for this to happen.

That's pretty damn good honestly

Wowww, this is amazing!! Fans say what they want, but this is for sure because of the deal with Warner. Her music is getting more exposure, even the old hits are returning and increasing streamings like never before!
