Was the album released on CD upon its original release? CDs were still new to the market, so not every album was necessarily released on CD at the time. Madonna being a new, unproven artist, I could see Warner Bros opting not to spend money printing CDs because it was presumably expensive at first.

I think the video version of “Burning Up” is on all CD pressings because the first CD pressings came AFTER the second, third, etc pressings of the vinyl and cassettes.

Or maybe they simple finalized the CD master after the vinyl and cassette masters…

Honestly my patience with that users persistent negativity is wearing thin. It's almost like begging for attention. They sure as hell spend a long time in the Singles Reissue thread moaning about the Reissued Singles.

Being angry at or mocking fans for wanting all the old singles on streaming would be the equivalent of being angry in the mid 90s when the original 80s singles were reissued on CD (the Yellow singles). "But I already got them on vinyl!". AND?
What's the point in complaining about that? The more accessible her material is, for old and new generations, the better, right? And streaming is the most accessible format now.
No one is asking for all the old vinyls, cassettes and CDs to BURN in hell, let's also keep them, thank you very much.

I think we have to keep in mind that The Immaculate Collection was not meant for fans but for the GP (and it worked!)
The title is flat out iconic and probably one of THE smartest titles for a greatest hits album. Personally, I have would have done something a little different and add the "missing" hits as b-sides to the singles that were released.

I would argue that the radio edit of 4 Minutes is the superior version. Gets rid of that intro and outro and makes it tighter. It's a shame that's not on the streaming single but thank goodness I have it on GHV2.
