  1. For that same reason I wouldn't be surprised if they uploaded a fan made video to the official channel. I don't think they even bothered creating a new one
  2. Objectively speaking, these 4 sum up what she stands for: 1. Like a Prayer 2. Express Yourself 3. Vogue 4. Justify My Love
  3. Not necessarily my favourites, but i feel these 4 sum it all up (could't cut one out) 1. Holiday 2. Like a Prayer 3. Express Yourself 4. Vogue
  4. i feel like you're not hearing me. did this exist in November 2005 when the single was being promoted? regardless of whether it's official or not also check the reply from @MiB, I wasn't sure either but i think i'm with him on this one. It just looks sloppy and I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to use a fanmade video and upload it as an homage to Tracy Young. And btw they also uploaded that Vogue 12" version from Rockamerica. That remix video was official but I was shocked how they just didn't bother to find a normal copy and they had to use an old TV rip that even had the logo. So after seeing that I wouldn't be shocked if this Hung Up video was fanmade after all.
  5. They are so weird for uploading it then.. Maybe it's just a shout out to the fans
  6. But my question is if it was made and used back in 2005 to promote the single or did they just make it recently. I do not remember seeing it back then
  7. Hi guys, Is the video for "Hung Up - Tracy Young Remix Edit" that was posted on her official YouTube in October 2020 official? I have not seen it prior and literally no-one ever mentioned it before that. I see it's also not on various lists on this forum, so I was wondering if it was officially created back in 2005 or is it just something they put up recently as a congrats to Tracy Young for her Grammy?? Any thoughts?
  8. What about the video for Hung Up - Tracy Young Remix Edit that was posted on her official YouTube in October 2020? I have not seen it prior and literally no-one ever mentioned it before that. 9. LOL, vh-1 did that (i think), don't know wtf were they thinking. Warner had nothing to do with the montage. I assume they had no rights to do a Blond Ambition montage. Could have just aired black screen, would certainly look better than that mess of a video
  10. Great, thanks for the Rain, Fever and ROL info
  11. There was supposed to be a video but she decided to focus on Me Against the Music instead. It was released unexpectedly so they changed the plans for releasing the NF video as they didn't want 2 Madonna videos airing at the same time. They figured MTV would choose to air only one (and the one with the more popular Britney at the time) so NF video would be wasted money for the label.
  12. I don't think she makes these decisions on her own tbh. there is a lot to consider and I think the general rule is the more money she brings to the label, the more creative freedom they give her. and vice versa: as soon as the money drops she has to suck it up and do things she wouldn't normally do. I don't think Something to Remember was her idea at all, it was obviously developed by Warner to soften her public image and prepare her for Evita, and possibly to make up for the "poor" sales of Erotica and Bedtime Stories (at least compared to her previous records, and especially after she just signed the unprecedented 60 million deal. she delivered artistically but not financially, and STR was supposed to fix that to an extent). As for including This USed TBMP and I'll Remember, well that's called marketing. Two chart toppers previously unreleased on a Madonna album are included to boost the sales. As for GHV2, she obviously had more saying on that one after the massively successful ROL and Music eras. The bottom line is that it's a collaboration/negotiation between the artist and the label. Sometimes you give in more than you want depending on the circumstances.
  13. It wasn't abandoned, it was always meant to be a tour video- like Dress You Up. The only thing about Bye Bye Baby that was abandoned was the commercial single release.
  14. not really hate, just bewilderment with where'd all that money go ? I'd say Bad Girl looks expensive but noone ever mentions it in that context. DAD is a good video it just doesn't seem like it cost that much. Bedtime Story certainly looks like it was a lot.
  15. true, however music videos nowadays generally cost less than they used to 20+ years ago. MTV is not where it used to be anymore and the technology has advanced so all the technical/graphic work is cheaper as well
  16. I think so too, but she was convinced to release it as a single and then promote it which she knew she couldn't do very well and then the couple of those not so good performances happened, so probably not the best memory for her.
  17. Just like the Erotica situation 10 years prior, she needed to do what it takes to soften her public image after the infamous American Life video and the backlash. AL sales really suffered, so the damage control included Me Against the Music, GAP commercial, Remixed & Revisited and this Love Profusion single/video. Didn't really help though.
  18. The video was done as part of promotion for an Estee Lauder perfume, I dont think there was any additional money spent on it because they used the actual set for the commercial also directed by Luc Besson. Or maybe she agreed to let them use the song in exchange for the video.
  19. They spent all their emergency cash on Fever/Rain videos. Plus they decided that american public couldn't take another unconventional/adult song from Madonna. Erotica cost them a lot of money. The same story for all other remixed songs that never got the proper single release. Impressive Instant was meant to be a part of the fourth Music single- the double-A Amazing/Impressive instant where the first one was meant to be serviced to radio and TV and the second one to the clubs (much like the Bad Girl/Fever single) but then when Madonna rejected Amazing we were left with only Impressive Instant remixes. Same with Nobody Knows Me. It was supposed to be Nothing Fails to radio/TV and Nobody Knows Me to clubs, during that summer/early autumn, but then she decided to participate in Me Against the Music while NNM was already in the clubs but she pushed NF for later that autumn.
  20. I never understood what exactly in that video cost 6.1 million USD. Could be the CGI, but there weren't that many used tbh. Whenever I see it i always wonder the same thing ?
  21. I think she's just goofing arround when she says she doesn't like Into the Groove or Cherish, or she even may really think they are silly, but at least she wanted them released. But I feel the ones from the poll were made/released because somebody told her to make/release a certain type of song for a particular reason. That's why I think she doesn't feel them. Or she may like them but didn't want them as singles. For example The Power of Good-bye was never meant to be released as a single. Drowned World was originally planned as the third worldwide single including the US, but due to the pressure from the public and radio, Warner decided to release it before Drowned World (in the US), which was then dropped altogether. The same with Rain, which was only brought in as a damage control for Erotica, when Danel Abraham was brought in to remix Fever and Rain in a more radio-friendly manner, as an intervention for radio/TV which at that point were not too keen on airing anything Madonna. From what I understood, Rain jumped in instead of the planned Bye Bye Baby whose hip-hop remixes had already been made and would have served as the fourth single off Erotica, but was eventually scrapped for a worldwide release.
  22. True. However the Rescue Me single was not initially planned as part of promotion for the IC album so there was no budget allocated to making the video.
  23. It's widely known that Madonna openly dislikes some of her singles because she was "forced" to release them and they don't reflect her personality. These were pushed by the label either to soften her public image or to get her overall sales going, and most of them are from around or post-Erotica era. Which of these singles do you think she hates the most?
