Yes but she has done disco inspired albums, so that would be repeating herself. I want her to do something that’s slightly different for her that she hasn’t done before but that’s not too out of her comfort zone that she can’t pull off credibly.

I haven’t read the book, but from what I heard it seems to focus more on her dysfunctional upbringing with her family than after she became famous

Her first album isn’t synth pop or new wave. Synth pop and new wave is like Blondie, Human League, Depeche Mode

Has Madonna ever met Mariah in person?

Mariah has never been close friends with Madonna so I don’t see why she would discuss her extensively in the book. I assume she would primarily discuss her close friends, people she dated or people she worked with.

I guess maybe she is talking about recording demos for other artists, not recording or getting signed for her own music.

I don’t understand the comment. Mariah vocal and musical style is very different from Madonna’s. Mariah always hit much higher notes than Madonna ever did.

That would be something slightly different than what she has done, but still something she could credibly pull off. Everyone says do another Confessions but that doesn’t excite me. Why make the same album again?

Me too. The Dreaming song is really good. It would be cool if she did an album with a new wave synth pop influence.

Yes, everyone will slam her especially her so called fans. I don’t understand why some people follow someone that seem to have such a dislike for and such contempt for. A movie about her life is very different from a movie she acts in playing a fictional character. Because those flopped doesn’t mean a film about her life will because people find that interesting. I don’t see the difference if she writes a book if her memory is so bad. Isn’t the book going to be her version of things that she is in control of as well? The movie is just an autobiography using a different visual medium.

I think we need to be prepared for certain inaccuracies. It may not be geared just toward us hard core fans, but to entertain a more general audience. Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody were well received by the general public, but hard core Elton and Queen fans complained incessantly online about all the inaccuracies. The point is to make a good movie, not a word for word, event for event documentary.

Do you think Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody uses the actual dialogue? Do you remember the exact words you said 20 or 30 years ago? Even if you keep a diary, you don’t write down verbatim conversations.

Is Kickstarter a reliable company? There was pledge music which took fans’ money and didn’t give it to artists but redistributed it to their other operations. I ordered an album from pledge music that was never released and a had a hard time getting my money back. This soured me on crowd funding of music. I would rather buy something after it’s released. Lots on indie artists finance their own recording and don’t ask fans to pay many months or years in advance.

Yes, I didn’t think he was using an actual orchestra which would be expensive. As a well known producer I would think he would have enough funds to finance it himself. I always thought Kickstarter was for lesser known indie artists.

The project never seemed that interesting to me. Why record instrumental versions of your old songs, instead of writing something new? It just seemed a tacky effort to cash in on Madonna’s fame instead of doing new work. His whole Instagram seemed like a big ego trip, where he got off on fans praising him and begging Madonna to work with him again and saying how he made Madonna and no other songwriter or producer was good enough

That’s interesting. But they aren’t going to be able to fit all these people in. I think they will have to pare down the people in her life, even if that makes it not 100% accurate.

I just hope they can find the right tone for the film. What makes Madonna fascinating but also confusing to some people is she has a serious emotional deep side, but also a silly lighthearted humorous side. The movie needs to reflect that with serious dramatic moments but also humorous ones.

She said Covid caused a delay. I think it will also with this movie. Now people are saying large concerts will not even return by 2021. So depressing

She releases them eventually usually within a year and a half or so after the end. Many artists don’t release DVD’s of their tours at all. For example the Spice Girls never released one of their reunion tour. The demand for tour DVD’s has definitely declined with you tube. I don’t think she makes any money on tour DVD’s. I always buy hers, but of all the concerts I go to I haven’t bought one by anyone else. For me watching a tour on DVD is a bit boring. It doesn’t capture the excitement of actually being there.

Madonna has a way of getting things done. I don’t think it will take ten years, although Covid may cause delays in filming.

People have the right to their opinion, but it should be based on facts and correct information. I find a lot of people who hate Madonna will say things like Madonna isn’t her real name or she doesn’t write her own songs, which are just factually wrong.
