I just wanted to chip in that I think most of you who are happy with all the releases from the last year are probably from the US and Europe, where everything has been released and you have a tour coming up RSD is not a worldwide event (even though if you check their website and they say they are), at least here some select stores bring them later as imports, meaning for example the everybody vinyl retails at 50 dollars. So virtually no RSD releases here + no tour South america has only gotten FEL from the deal, that’s why I keep saying there’s nothing released. im very glad you guys get these but we don’t. So it’s been largely boring and that’s why I am waiting for a large release that I can buy - since I already bought FEL) that is all ;)

Well to be fair I defended it because it was too soon to complain in my opinion, but 2 years later it’s super frustrating having nothing at all. I guess we’ll have them when we’ll have them, probably for the 100th anniversary by 2084

It really confuses me why people still defend this. I mean: - “nothing was promised, everything was fan hyped”: YES EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT, we are pointing out at the absolute waste of an opportunity to ignore all important landmark dates - “FEL was the start of the deal”: ok cool, we could argue a photo shoot is the start of the deal, who cares about that. Everybody wants expansive reissues. Will we get them? Maybe not, but this just shows the huge gap between what fans want and what the label/Madonna wants - “nobody cares about anniversaries”: ok then why the announcement 2 years ago made such an emphasis on the 40 year anniversary? - “they had to announce this 2 years ago because if not fans would be confused about the madame x live dvd being released by Warner”: more confused about that than the 2 year old vague announcement about possible re-releases? We are at page 216 of confusion lol - “a Madonna tribe insider said that…”: who cares about insider non-info. At least they could come up with something false but at least interesting so we could talk about it lol - “they will release it when it’s ready”: WE KNOW, but it’s been 2 years, what are they re-recording the whole thing? Re-shooting every picture? WHAT TAKES 2 YEARS TO IMPLEMENT? so sorry about the bitterness but all of this makes no sense. I am in “prepare to be disappointed” mode, at least if it’s great I will be pleasantly surprised. If nothing happens and the deal is about uploading singles to streaming, then so be it :(. I could live with it, I wish they just said what’s going on and if that’s the most we can expect. if it finally comes and it is great, I will be so happy. JUST TELL US WHATS GOING ON

Even though I am absolutely unable to retain all this super specific information on each version of each song, I enjoy it so much to read it every few week/months. I don’t know why but I love it

What I think is the worst is that if they announce a sub-par reissue with like 2 remixes in the following months… I don’t think they’ll be able to pull it off. They could kinda do it now being “forced” to reissue it as an anniversary edition, but what would be the point to randomly re-release it AFTER the anniversary? I hope what they plan to release (assuming the Warner deal is still on, and something will be announced #soon) is worth the wait. Otherwise this is a massive fuck up on Their part. I really do hope we get something massive :( (btw I’m still bitter she’s not coming to South America for the tour)

Getting back to the Warner deal, even though some people insist that nothing was promised, I think we can all agree that not celebrating the 40th anniversary of the debut (besides an Instagram post of her dancing to lucky star and the release of lucky star to streaming) is a huge missed opportunity and makes no sense commercially i am really disappointed :(

I remember many months ago someone shared a website but I lost the link RSD is not available in my country and I missed out on all releases, I want to see if I get to find the Madonna ones thank you in advance!

2 weeks until the start of the tour. I think if we don’t hear anything in these 2 weeks it’s probably not going to happen. last chance would be an announcement in July 27th (the anniversary of the release of the first album). so from now on we have 1 month. If nothing is announced in this month then we can just forget about it I guess

Ok in summary i don’t want to convince you that all features are excellent or the specific subset of songs you are referring to (lol). I just think it’s super weird - to me - to read all this negativity (especially on the sam smith thread) about songs we know nothing about. I am exited about new music, and then if it sucks I’ll complain just like any other gay here, lol

I am just commenting on the whole 60 pages Sam Smith collaboration meltdowns about a song we don’t even know the name of, and here some “great, a song from a terrible show”, but we haven’t seen the show and haven’t heard the song. That’s about it. it would be great to see a more exited mood about new music instead. Just my opinion

But maybe let’s hear it before hating it?

let’s not forget Gambler was also released in streaming, which is something the fans have been asking for for years. I really think they are doing their best to release good stuff, considering Madonna is probably withholding most of the unreleased things. i would really love a re-release though. Erotica was such a missed opportunity. I don’t think they did any money with that, nothing of notice (except the vinyl single) was put on sale.
