Would someone explain GOODBYE TO INNOCENCE......please......

Recommended Posts

Since we don't have all the dates confirmed, we can only speculate, but that would be my guess from oldest version to newest:

1. Goodbye to Innocence (Straight Pass) [from The Rain Tapes] - 5:57

2. Goodbye to Innocence (Final Edit) [from The Rain Tapes] - 5:36

3. Goodbye to Innocence (Demo) [from the Demo Assembly] - 4:57

4. Goodbye to Innocence (Final Demo Version) [from Erotica - Demo Tape 15.08.1992] - 4:39

5. Goodbye to Innocence (Released Version) [from Just Say Roe] - 4:52

Instrumental Demo (5:52) from ""DAT""

Straight Pass (5:55) from 'Library of Congress / Rain Tapes' Cassette

Final Edit (5:37) from 'Library of Congress / Rain Tapes' Cassette

Demo (4:57) from 14-track Demo Cassette, leaked today

Demo 08-15-1992 (4:58) from 15-track Demo Cassette

Final Version (4:52) from Just Say Roe CD

Up Down Suite (12:16) from Rain Maxi CD

There is a Fever remix with 'Goodbye to Innocence' samples as well!

And since only Nikki can be heard on the final GTI version (released on Just Say Roe) and the Fever Edit 1 and 2 remixes, not Donna, it is safe to assume that the vocal recording of these songs/remixes were done after Erotica's sessions had wrapped. Maybe even as late as Jan/Feb 1993. Does not the Waiting remix also use an alternative vocal take which M laid down?.

I'm not sure if a digital source exists. I presume though - I just can't remember!

I haven't found a digital source for Back To The Dub 1, only the 2

The remix is horrible. GtI samples are distorted like shit. Sounds like a spawn of Luke Slater's creations. No wonder why we haven't got it with the rest of remixes.
