  1. Thanks for thinking objectively, it’s nice to see people who don’t defend everything she does. Yes the show seems great but this seems like a real bum note.
  2. I wouldn’t go that far, but his book came from a clearly mentally disturbed place. He’s obviously not well, or wasn’t at the time. nothing in his book struck me as being written to poke fun though, it seemed just brutally honest from his own perspective - which seemed likely jaded. It’s sad, but I personally don’t like to see people’s addictions and personal circumstances ridiculed, no matter how horrible they may present. if you’re comfortable finding pleasure in it, fine... but ask yourself would you like it if you were ridiculed in the same way, or somebody you care about.
  3. Ha! She’s not the only one, my father has a drink problem. I can relate. Thankfully he doesn’t own a vineyard!
  4. I wouldn’t. It’s cruel behaviour. I think you’d have to be a pretty nasty human being to actually find any humor in it. I’m actually so disappointed, she seems to preach love for humanity but she doesn’t present as somebody who cares for any people at all, her children aside. She’s so changed from the person she was in IGTTYAS... At least around then you could believe she actually cared about people. I’m sure the show was great otherwise though
  5. It’s bullying. It’s so so cruel. He’s obviously really troubled and calling somebody out for their addictions before an audience just strikes me as very very cruel. Very disappointing to hear... it’s none of the audience’s business.
  6. That’s nothing to laugh about, that’s just a shame.
  7. 3 possibilities. Move everyone from the top balcony to the stalls. Give away tickets to the empty show like they did in Brisbane for RHT. cancel the show. I asked the exact same question with a screenshot of this show a few weeks ago and was called a hater. Not sure why, I’ve done exactly the same thing as you, for the same reason, to generate discussion. Personally I think they will move fans down to the stalls and reduce the remaining seats. I can’t imagine playing to a theatre full of free ticket goers would feel particularly good.
  8. Oh without a doubt. I can’t imagine doing my job in front of my parents, it must be very nerve wracking!
  9. Just flicking through the October 1st recording... My impressions of it are below, for those of you can cope with an opinion, and don't have to resort to a fake account to give me shit. God Control, way better than on other audio. The spoken bits sound annoying... but she sounds super confident. Human Nature - well, it sounds better here than it has on tours previous so Papa Don't Preach - sounds okay, but I feel like she cold sing this better, I'm still not sure why she refuses to sing this song it's entirety, it's sad to think it hasn't been performed in it's entirety since 1990. The chorus sounds good, the verses sound okay. American Life - you could be fooled into thinking you were listening to a 2004 performance. It's great. Batuka - I admit, I hated this on the album. I still don't like it. I don't think I ever will. Pretty sure this is pre-recorded live vocals with the vocoder, doesn't sound like a live vocal with a vocoder. Welcome To My Fado Club - This is the bit she sounds the best... live instrumentation finally too. I do think a full version of La Isla Bonita could have been segued into from this. Sodade - sounds beautiful. Medellin - I just don't see the point of the vocoder. It's live, the whole idea is the song doesn't have to be CD identical. Frozen - you can literally hear the autotune correcting her in the first few lines, there's like a tinge to her voice, but it's subtle enough. She sounds lovely, the Madame X tour version of Frozen is obviously way better than every other previous tour vocal. Some fans might not hear the autotune if their ears aren't particularly sharp, but I imagine most will. It's particularly obvious in the lower notes of the verses, on virtually all previous tour performances of the song she's always gone really flat because she's failed to hit those low notes. They're hit with ease here, and the clarity of the mic is seemingly adjusted to match. This makes the RIT performance of Frozen sound amateur, if she'd sounded like this on Eurovision she would have been universally praised. Future - Such a relevant song, and I absolutely love it, even though most fans seem to dislike it. I hate the vocal effects. Might as well be playback. There's nothing really live about this performance, she's not playing the piano as far as I am aware, and the vocals are either processed beyond any live quality, or they're just pre-recorded entirely... I'm inclined to believe the latter. Sitting down to mime the piano and the vocals... why? Crave - This is my favourite part that I can't wait to hear live. I love this remix, I know a lot of fans said it seems empty, but I really love it... and it sounds good. She sounds like she sounded on CT. Like a Prayer - Completely off again in the first verse. I wish she would just retire this one. She's proved in the past that she could sing the hell out of this song, but this has absolutely no energy, no energy. It's just horrible. I keep thinking she's going to surprise the audience and absolutely nail this one day soon, but she just doesn't, it sounds absolutely awful. Her voice box just sounds entirely worn out, and the control over the sustained notes just isn't there... live pitch correction can only move you to the closest possible note, she's moving so much that the notes they're being shifted to aren't even the correct notes. Overall, a great bootleg, but if I was listening to it in the car for example, I'd take Like a Prayer out of the playlist and just go from Crave to I Rise. I'll always have RIT or BAT to fall back on as what I think of as brilliant performances of the song, this one she just doesn't sound very good at all. The rest of the show is pretty excellent when she's actually singing live and not covered with vocoders... every song clearly has real time pitch correction except Fado Club and Sodade.
  10. Thanks Mark! I've never actually put anybody on ignore before but I can't be bothered with trolls. Thank you for the suggestion
  11. Oh and you joined 13 minutes ago, just to send me an abusive PM. so you’re obviously a double account troll.
  12. Why do you speak to people like they’re rubbish? Your attitude and the way you conduct yourself is disgusting. Reported
  13. I suppose it’s ‘faults’ in the eyes of the opinion holder. My favorite tour is WTG, most fans seem to rank it as the worst (my worst is MDNA, awful awful show), but I don’t get offended when people rip it apart and rightfully so express their distaste.
  14. Personally I believe those start times should have been stated at time of ticket purchase. but that’s just my opinion, and I’m apparently always wrong! LOL
  15. Opinion is the SOLE PURPOSE of a forum. If this show is ‘art’ like M insists it apparently is, then it’s partially created for criticism, partially for expression.
  16. Again, I’ve done absolutely nothing to warrant going on an ignore list. If you’re not open to opinion, why join a forum? theres nothing endlessly negative about my post... it was very well balanced. some of you can’t handle M being criticised, which just shows an obsessive mentality.
  17. You don’t need to have seen the show yet to have an opinion of it. im sure you have an opinion of Madonna performances you never saw live, or tours you never attended. does that make those opinions invalid? no. you’re just unintelligent, and it really shows. ’next’.
  18. Your response is ill thought out and contributes nothing to active discussion as usual... well done. ive focused on positives and negatives, as usual. It’s called balance.
  19. Sorry, but no. it’s obvious Like a Prayer isn’t sang well by comparison to yesteryear. Pitch isn’t affected by the recording, and she’s flat for the entire song, by around a quarter tone. Sorry that it doesn’t fit your agenda, but a crap recording is good enough to determine whether or not her voice is in decent shape. If anything, the nature of the recordings actually show her voice more clearly than backing track and the ‘band’/taped music. she sounds okay, but it’s obvious she’s declined further than tours previous. God Control is very flat also. Why do you think she’s absolutely covered the show in vocal effects and in some of the Madame X Tour, studio lead backing vocals? Sodade and Fado Club sound the best. LVER on RHT was flat, and on some shows off key. Not a good example.
  20. It hasn't leaked at all, it's officially released as a clip from Madonna's social media. There's absolutely nothing 'leaked' about it. Her voice has changed quite a bit listening to the October 12th bootleg, in comparison to opening night. There's a sweetness missing, the same sweetness from the first night of RIT and CT that vanished thereafter. I must admit, Like a Prayer sounds a LOT better than it did at Eurovision yet I still think it sounds as flat as a pancake and it's still quite out of tune, also there's absolutely no power to the her voice that she had when she performed it on the RIT. I think the song is crying out for a really stripped back, slow emotional acoustic version like on Hope For Haiti, which incidentally was the last time she sang Like a Prayer really, really well. Still, very nice to hear a clear recording of the show finally, the audience seemed very quiet which is great for recording. It's obvious the speaking parts of the show are a little excessive, but the musical aspects of the show seem pretty decent.
  21. Stefo, you've just reinvigorated my desire to actually attend London. Thank you.
  22. It can be very artistic, it’s simply how you approach them. consider an act like Tori Amos. Total musical freedom to perform whatever she wants every night, change her setlist from 90% old to 90% new every night and anything in between. Then tell me she’s not producing great art. Art is subjective. She could approach her old songs in ways that would render her higher and greater than ever.
  23. It’s her only chance of selling our larger venues at this stage. excellent Damage control.
  24. You say this like you know her personally. you don’t. i don’t. we will have to wait and see. We may never see another full tour again... we may see a GH tour next year. consider the fact that her contract is up after this. A new deal isn’t going to be easily negotiated for another Madame X tour. A greatest hits tour they’d snatch her hand off.
