Yeah, I am not sure why Ricky Martin didn't capitalize on that moment. At the time, Madonna was back on top and he just came off of a huge publicity rush from his Grammy wins. Though, I can see why they went with songs that were much more impacting. "Be Careful" was a bit sleepy compared to what he was releasing which were high energy songs.

I love Be Careful, but let's be honest: She's All I Ever Had and Private Emotion (duet with Meja), both of them were 2nd and 4th single respectively, and they were more beautiful and powerful ballads than Madonna's. Plus a 5th single by Ricky Martin with a third ballad wouldn't have worked (And anyway, RM's album didn't need any more singles 'cause it was one of the 1999's top-selling album)

Wow I completely forgot about the duet version actually. The solo version is far superior though.
