I have to say that I don't completely agree with this. It's surely not the best version she performed, at the same time I think that with this simple and folkish string/guitar arrangement the track gets a new twist, light and cool. I prefer this than the MDNA one, completely out of place imo. One version wich I really ADORE is the Girlie Show Studio 54 performance, the closest to the deep funky feeling of the original version musically (the Girlie Show is amazing). It's a great song, so much connected with the undeniable impact of the original release, the video and the mood of the remix sound, that it's hard to surpass that. She got a good chance with the military version in the ReInvention Tour, but I always thought it missed something, the coreo moved the American Life rage and grit into a kind of Broadway pointless excercize.

Goodbye to Innocence straight pass had the chance to be a real bomb but it lacked something, especially a strong chorus to give that electrifying bridge a proper climax. Still it's maybe the most interesting for me. I'm in love with the Erotica/You thrill me demo, as I am with Love Hurts, wich was recorded much ealier, the gorgeous (and who knows why fucking short) Bad girl demo with the electric guitar solo in it (wich gave an AMAZING shift to the track imo) and I do like the Thief of Hearts OLD music a lot Erotica is my favourite M album/era and that session is hot. The only better one in terms of unreleased and demos is ROL imo.

I go with Nothing really matters Justify my love Bad girl Die another day Bedtime story With honourable mentions for Live to tell, Like a prayer, Erotica and Ray of light (and of course there's only ONE real hit in my top five ) By the way, about the Rain/Frozen pont, I think that the backdrop for Rain, even if always using the Frozen video material, is completely reworked.

This is interesting, I wanna take part of this. I agree with you about the Madame X version, it's visually fascinating at the same time it's too much lowered for me too. It just needed to be cut imo, also visually, after 4 minutes and a half I was ok, I did not need to get 6:30 EDIT: This "Toronto version" of Frozen is nice, not the mess of SS at all, and it's clear that everything was staged for Frozen in that part of the show, STILL Rain gives the perfect uplifting feeling and the song is too beautiful to miss this event.Still team Rain, for ever. The best Frozen vocal performance definitely remains the Rainforest Benefit one, it seems we all agree about that, BUT my prefered one musically is just the ReInvention Tour one, it's something wich I feel about the whole show. For me it was the last one in wich I heard the strenght of the live instruments, even Drowned world had already a more "perfect/plastic" sound in many tracks imo. Then I loved the "giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive yourself to me" with her arms stretched ahead and the video was cool. Still the videos had a real artsy feeling at that point - this is another topic, I know - especially Paradise, the best ever imo, The Beast within, Frozen. They became just routine with the passing of time (I think of the Iconic intro, Future Lovers or Get Stupid ... nice, all of them, but the inspiration got weaker imo, as normal I think). Another good choice this time was to avoid them actually.

Yeah that's true, but I think we can acknowledge at this point that she is quite close to make the absolute majority of us happy with this tour. Maybe the big absences in terms of hits were Material girl, Express Yourself and Frozen and she managed to perform two of them during the tour process. About the deep cuts, of course everybody will have their preferences, but the most requested ones in the poll I did on July on this forum, wich was voted by around 130 people, were Nothing really matters, Bad Girl, The power of goodbye, Rain and Causing a commotion (wich is also nicely hinted in the first speech) and the majority of the people who voted expressed their preference for a different structure than the usual four acts one, something more flexible to tell the whole story, wich is exactly the way she took. We had the most amzing setlist, stage and coreos ever to proper celebrate her legacy AND NOW the BA bombers are back AND we have the long awaited tour program (wich is fine, but not that incredible for what I had the chance to see - EDITED: IT'S A FAKE ONE, BUT STILL TONY SAID A PROGRAM IS IN THE WORKS) AND we have the Express Yoirself acoustic version needed in this hits tour AND we have the Frozen performance tonight or soon as she rehearsed it (making clear that I want Rain for the video release) AND, if we'll be good babies and buy all the tickets we are able to, I'm sure she will give us some other goodie too (I want SECRET in the acoustic session)

Wow this country version unexpectedly works! I loved it. Maybe just the special is not much in that kind of mood, still too funky, but the whole thing is quite good.
