I'm very interested in the economics of this 'little' theatre tour.

At the the moments she's scheduled to play 67 dates (47 in the US, 20 in Europe), but looking at the gaps in the itinerary, she could play another 17 in the US and possibly another 10 in Europe, which would bring the total to 94. That's assuming she doesn't extend the tour, but it would also make it her longest tour, surpassing MDNA's 88 dates. More likely it'll end up being somewhere between 80-90 shows, similar to Rebel Heart (82 dates) and Sticky & Sweet (85 dates).

Obviously the overall attendance figures for this tour will be much lower as she's playing theatres, averaging 3,000 tickets per show, but if she played 85 dates that would be 255,000 in total attendance.

However, the average ticket price will be much higher this time, so if she played 85 shows, averaging 3,000 tickets per show, at an average ticket price of $300, the tour would gross $76,500,000. But if it's an average ticket price of $400 it would gross $102,000,000! Given that demand will far outstrip supply, I wouldn't be surprised if average ticket price ends up being far higher on the secondary market, meaning this supposedly scaled-back, intimate little theatre tour could end up being another huge money-spinner for her and Live Nation.

Any artist makes $0.00 off the secondary market, that's all pure profit to the seller and the reseller site, they only make off the sale from the original face value.

But Ticketmaster and artists are actually known for selling off their tickets to sites like StubHub so I'm sure if she wanted to Madonna could get an under the table kickback too.

So I got tickets for a Brooklyn show already. Does this mean I cannot enroll for this time around?

If you're a Legacy member you can apply for another show in a different city, but then it makes no difference since afterwards you would be placed into the general requests priority anyways and It doesn't specify how many requests a general person can make.

And lots of people still on the waiting list...this should mean they move up to get a chance. If not that is not fair.

Yeah it doesn't state what happens with those on the waitlist if they can apply again, which I guess you could, or even just make another e-mail lol.

I just got off the phone with ticketmaster. They said the order will not be canceled and that it is valid.

29 minutes ago my friend got an email saying his was cancelled.

    Hello,

This is not the kind of email we like to send. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the tickets you purchased for the following event because they weren’t supposed to be available for sale. When we caught the error, we quickly pulled the tickets down and issued a full refund to your credit card.

    Madonna – Madame X Tour
    Howard Gilman Opera House
    Sunday, September 15th @ 8:30pm

Maybe someone can help me out... I registered for the Paris shows and I know that I have to wait for a possible code. But do we have to open an account at Ticketmaster as well or will the purchase link and personal code be enough to select and buy the tickets?

Yes you’ll need an account. the code is usually just a code sent to your phone followed with one that has a link that’ll open up to Ticketmaster but you would still need to purchase through them.

So bizarre that you can just go on Ticketmaster and buy the VIP packages like that! I haven't been charged or received an email yet. But at least now I know that there's hope even if I'm not selected!

Why are they making tickets available? I haven't gotten a charge yet on my Citi Card. Thos almost isn't fair. I'm fucking terrified...

It's quite annoying that what seemed like a 'fair process' really wasn't since Ticketmaster should have been offering the best available, and they FULLY knew the inventory of tickets that was going to be made into VIP and at the click of a button can and HAVE changed entire rows of tickets from regular priced into their ridiculous Platinum Tickets.

They will send us an email and we have to tell them whether we accept or reject the tickets. We’ll reject one set of tickets so they can see to someone else.

I don't think that's how it was working, you already got confirmed so all sales are final. If you're thinking the 'additional email with instructions to accept your tickets', it's like when you send mobile tickets like if you sold/bought them from someone else. You're just clicking the link that '___ has sent you tickets' and you're logging into your account to accept them.

Can I cancel my ticket request?
You must cancel your request by Friday, May 10 at 11:59 pm ET. To cancel your request email customerservice@ticketstoday.com, or call our team at 800-594-TIXX (8499). Make sure to have your receipt number, email and the last four numbers of the credit card used to submit your request. No cancelations will be accepted past this date and time.

Does getting a confirmed request mean I will get tickets?
Yes! If you receive a confirmed request this means your ticket request was successful, your card will automatically be charged, and your tickets will arrive in just a couple days. Keep an eye out for an additional email with instructions to accept your tickets into your Ticketmaster account.

My request was confirmed, can I cancel or exchange my tickets?
No. All confirmed requests are final sale and no exchanges may be applied.

If my request is confirmed, can I confirm my seats before my credit card is charged? What if I don’t like the tickets I got?
If your request is confirmed, we will immediately process your credit card for the seat preference you selected in your ticket request. You should not request tickets for any cities, shows or seat preferences that you do not actually wish to purchase. All sales are final, refunds and exchanges will not be available.

Can I use the code for all the cities or each code is for the city itself? than u

You need to register in each city. The generated code will only register in the presale for that specific city.

so just for clarification: those who got picked for the London presale will receive an email on May 23rd and Paris on May 26th, right? The presale for the London show starts on May 24th and Paris May 27th through an SMS sent by ticketmaster to all the confirmed registered fans?

I’ve only ever gotten a text the night before that I was selected and then a code  either that night or the next morning. I have only received emails to say I was rejected and put on a wait list.

Same here, but we both got tickets for the same night! We both selected all nights to increase our chances, but what are the odds of that?? :Madonna032:

Despite selecting all night, we both got the same night too!

What are you guys doing with your extra ones? I know a friend wanted to do more LA shows. He never mentioned to me which date he got though.

The thing is for London you just have to register, you don't request tickets, you don't indicate any price!

So I suppose the first selection on Sunday will just be based on luck.

Do you think Icon Legacy Members may be more than the available seats??

@SimonVenekeoyou say that sometimes you don't get selected, which means you don't even have access to tickets?

Just for that presale, I can do the other ones, but then it's more like getting the leftovers from that presale where if there was anything good to begin with has been already taken.

  12. The process isn’t that hard to grasp. You basically go on and enter your information again. Then you have the chance to be selected to purchase tickets. There’s no way to change your luck since I go to hundreds of shows and stay within ticket buying limits and sometimes I don’t get picked.

Im contemplating switching to NON VIP(Medellin). What sort of "gift" do you think comes with the VIP experience? I dont really need to spend 1300 more if it's just a dinky key chain or something. :Madonna037:

And do you think the VIP gets priority over regular purchases? :Madonna038: i need help!!

VIP merchandise is always a toss up so I keep my expectations low. And honestly if it’s that good I’m sure you’ll be able to find it on eBay no problem. It killed me that people were selling the VIP book for like $250+. A friend of mine got 2 for us from some random online listing for $100 for both.

And I think VIP would be first and they’d have tons of rows dedicated to it as well as Ticketmaster loves to flood the venues with them and Platinum tickets too. ??
