It's a Parody film, a lot of people who know or follow Weird Al know this is all an exaggerated story line just like all his previous work and interviews, its part of his overall persona. A lot of his fans also appreciate Madonna because he did a lot of cover songs from her back catalogue. It actually helped Madonna gather a lot of the indie crowd in the late 80s and 90s because of Weird Al as he made her look cool as a sex icon on his edited skits for MTV.
