Doubt she wears heels around her house. She obviously fell skiing. Who doesn’t fall when they go skiing? ? It looks worse than it is probably. Bruises show a lot more on very pale skin. Some people bruise a lot easier than others.

I thought the Basquiat movie was quite good. I don’t think it was a vanity project, it was very well done. Does this new movie have the approval of Basquiat’s family? They are organizing a big exhibit in Chelsea in NYC this spring.

Another movie about Basquiat? There have been quite a few, documentaries and with actors!

What the Pet Shop Boys said was Warner originally did approach them, but then Warner changed their mind and wanted her to go down the R&B route to do better in the American market, and rescinded their support. So it’s not true that Warner was pushing her to work with the Pet Shop Boys and she alone was the one that said no. I have never seen the big fuss about the Pet Shop Boys. I like one or two songs, but a lot of their songs sound the same, it gets boring after awhile.

Candy Perfume Girl is an outlier though. It’s hardly one of her most remembered or loved songs. It got a negative reaction from a lot of fans. Trent Reznor’s sound isn’t anything like Frozen or Live to Tell which are more on the vein of classic Madonna ballads, not guitar heavy or industrial.

I’m pretty sure it was exactly the opposite of that. Warners wanted her to go in more of an R&B direction to have more success in the US market. Confessions was huge in Europe but underperformed in the US.

The Halsey album is very different than her other material. Trent Reznor has a pretty distinctive sound that comes through in his work, and the Halsey album even though I enjoy it definitely reflects that. I just don’t see Madonna’s style blending well with industrial and alternative producers.

Yes, but their other styles might not suit her. Wouldn’t she be copying Halsey if she worked with them? People always complain if she works with the same producers as other artists.

I like Hurt, but personally it would be hard for me to listen to a whole album of songs like that. Maybe if she did 1 or 2 songs with them.

I still want her to work with the Weekend. His new album is really great.

I loved their work with Hasley. Her album was one of the best of last year. But I don’t see Trent and Atticus sound merging well with Madonna. Blood Orange seems like a much better choice.

When people say disco what do they mean? Do they mean just 70s style or any type of dance and electronic music? To me disco is a very specific kind of dance music. Madonna started on the dance floor and loves to dance, so I think her music will always have electronic and dance elements, but not necessarily 70s disco. A deep house album would be really cool. Dance and electronic music is a wide category so there is still a lot for her to explore there without repeating herself or rehashing old glories.

I have never listened to him that much, so I don’t know much about him. Why do people dislike Ed Sheehan so much? Madonna goes against the grain of conventional wisdom, so if she hears everyone hates someone, that is the person she wants to defend or work with. Same with Kanye. Right or wrong, she’s an independent thinker.

I highly doubt she is redoing a lot of her songs. It is probably just Frozen for either an EP or bonus tracks on the ROL reissue.

She said surprises in the New Year. I don’t agree with Kanye’s political views, but he did a good job on Rebel Heart.

I doubt that. It would most likely be bonus tracks on the reissues, not a whole separate new album.

I’m of two minds. I get bored with just dance music, but I think dance music suits her and her voice so well. If she didn’t something completely different it might not work or seem inauthentic. There is a part of her that will always be on the dance floor. I think she should have some dance elements mixed with other things but never completely abandon dance music and electronics.

There’s this amazing black female metal duo from the UK called the Nova Twins. But most people haven’t heard of them unless they follow that genre because rock isn’t played on the radio that much anymore. You could say that mainstream music by people of whatever race has become uncreative. Quite a few black bands and artists in alternative but you wouldn’t know their names because that genre isn’t mainstream anymore. A lot of people can’t name current alternative white artists or bands. Two wonderful black female artists who released EPs this year were Jensen McRae and Hannah Jadagu. Check those out.

What do you think we can reasonably expect in 2022? I don’t know if the movie will be finished by then. Maybe the reissues. I wonder how much promotion she will do of those?
