  1. To whom does it belong? To Diana? To a 90's Supermodel? Is there a way to measure it? I would honestly think a 90s supermodel has been more photographed than Lady Di since they basically worked 24/7 doing editorials and advertisements while also getting photographed relentlessly on runways. If this were the case it would still be difficult to pinpoint which supermodel has been most photographed. In my experience collecting fashion photography I have been surprised at how many editorials and runways Kate Moss has done. And when you take into account that basically only her and Naomi continued a successful modeling career into the 00s & 10s, I would bet the record is between them.
  2. I mean I still like Marco's over-sexualized and unattainable perfection photos, but I tend to give more value to photographs that seem as the photographers did most of the work in the real word rather than in the post-production editing process. I also enjoy Thierry Mugler's photos very much, not sure if there is coffee book of his work but I will look into it.
  3. Yes, maybe you don't recognize her since she is wearing a feathers headdress in honor of Grammy Nominee and Golden Globe Recipient Pia Zadora, who will be playing her in the biopic.
  4. Most of them look computer generated to me. I prefer more natural-looking photography being my favorites: Herb Ritts, Greg Gorman, Victor Skrebneski, George Platt Lynes, Gian Paolo Barbieri & Chris Von Wangenheim. Another that abuses digital editing is Marco Glaviano:
  5. LaChapelle looks like mostly photoshop to me. James Bidgood is the only one of those 3 that looks semi-real to me. American Jesus: hold me, carry me boldly, 2007 - Ph. David LaChapelle Archangel Michael: And No Message Could Have Been Clearer, Hawaii, 2005 - Ph. David LaChapelle Eventide, 2019 - Ph. David LaChapelle
  6. Agree, I think its a matter of taste, you mention LaChapelle, for me he is a digital composite artist rather than a good photographer. Pierre et Gilles are similar but more artistic to me than LaChapelle. James Bidgood more artistic than the aforementioned, etc...
  7. Nope don't have them either. It gives me so much anxiety thinking that there are tons of Herb Ritts HQ digitals on https://www.trunkarchive.com/ and I cant get them.
  8. This is for me the example of too much editing, this is Steven Meisel in the 80s, and yes he has great photos, but most of them seem too edited for my taste. Also, anyone can be a "good photographer" if you have the right editing skills. Its totally destroyed the art of photography. Mert & Marcus are others that go overboard.
  9. I don't have one in mind right now, but I remember that Ive seen some that looked too retouched to me at the time. Doing a quick search within my archives (I collect Herb Ritts photos) this one for example, her face looks oddly brightened (enlarge by double clicking). Stephanie Seymour - Spy Story 1, Van Nuys, 1990 - Ph. Herb Ritts
  10. You can still retouch and leave the peach fuzz, retouching used to be a mostly manual & artisanal craft, almost like an art but it seems photographers these days rely more and more on new software and algorithms and most human qualities are lost via these new editing methods. Herb used to have great retouching, although even Herb went too far with the retouching on a couple of his photos. So not even the greatest are exempt of fucking it up in the editing. In my personal experience, and I am no expert, it can take hours to manually retouch a photo when you are trying to make it look natural and as faithful as possible to the real features of the person Vs. minutes or less than an hour if you use presets.
  11. Steven Klein almost always films tour/performance backdrops at the photo shoots, wonder if they are filming anything for future use.
  12. Your guess is as good as ours, we don't know. We think so, but nothing official.
  13. It's actually a literal recreation of Bert Stern's "The Last Sitting" with Marilyn. Her Last Photo shoot before death.
  14. If they are gone can we unpin this? It's a mess going throw all the pinned posts to try to find the new posts.
  15. His work on the songs for MDNA wasn't finished, I think I recall him saying that in an interview.
  16. Thank you for not glamourizing & sugar coating pot use.
  17. I need a version of RIT's Vogue where she does the upside down step without the camera being upside down. I still cant believe they cut out that step from IGTTYAS.
  18. Her voice is so robust on this underrated song. She could have used this somewhere. Also I always thought she could have done a campy over the top section on one of her tours with the following songs (kind of like the I'm Going Bananas section of the Girlie show). I always thought she could have performed Rainbow High mashed up with More on tour. Scene could have been staged with chandeliers like in the Girlie Show and mirrors. Dancers would bring her coats and jewelry while she sings "Rainbow High" looking at herself in the mirror and then she breaks into "More" while the mirrors are pulled away and female backup dancers join her like in Dick Tracy. By the way, someone please upload Rainbow High in good quality to youtube lol.
