  1. Hope so - all smart phones should be committed to the dustbin. Forever. Especially where gigs and nightclubs are concerned.
  2. Great idea / impossible score / even with insider contacts, this one appears to be an impossible blag.
  3. Silly question - but how do I know if I have an icon number? I've been a paid up member in the past.
  4. So what's the website for the announcement?
  5. I'm gonna spark up a ciggie when she does in that case.
  6. I guess the I'm Breathless showtunes would suit the place. Hanky Panky in the Palladium = Hard to create that 4am club feel in there though.
  7. I know - it's where Joan Collins performed. It's bloody Madonna, not Liberace! Pet Shop Boys did the Royal Opera House - that was great for a dance off. Going to a gig at the Palladium would make me feel like an old queen. Might have to smuggle some poppers in to spruce things up.
  8. I'm not keen on the Palladium - it's a bit Royal Variety Show/Liberace in there. The National Theatre on the Southbank would be much cooler - it's got much more of an arty feel - plus the sound is amazing and it's bigger. The Grace Jones Hurricane show was very cool in that space.
  9. My two cents is that we'll probably need more than two cents. Tickets for the highest bidder says nothing about fandom and everything about wealth. Die hards will be seriously in debt or left out in the cold while high rolling corporates pop the corks. That said, smaller venues does sound like a refreshing change - I just hope she combines with stadiums.
  10. This worries me - increasingly, she's going to turn into a Rolling Stones type heritage act charging £££
  11. Folks in Hyde Park said the same for MDNA - but they were further back. We were at the front and completely immersed. Fight to the front and the atmosphere is way better than anything else - plus the crowd is better - they've worked to get there and not lazily shelled out £1000 from their trust funds.
  12. Sticky and Sweet mosh pit at Wembley ranks as one of my faves. This gig wasn't without issues though - I think one of the back speakers failed so folks at the rear had an entirely different experience. I just don't particularly like the O2 as a venue - it's sanitised and dull, lacking all the elements that make a gig feel lawless and exciting. Sound is great though! And Prince did a grand job in there for his Planet Earth tour.
  13. Yes. I always find these more hysterical and I come away feeling I've participated, rather than herded into a theatre with seat allocations (boring). My best experiences have always been in stadiums - people are generally more hyped. Sound issues are less common in arenas, granted - but this isn't true across the board. The Glastonbury pyramid speakers really hit you in the gut for instance and are really nicely balanced.
  14. I reckon she'll do Glasto 2020 as it's the 50th anniversary - so that'll suffice.
  15. Arenas are horribly corporate and the atmos is sterile. I want egalitarian stadiums - hysteria, screaming, moshing, football stadium cheers, no golden circle privileges and flying cups of piss (!) It beats being ushered into a seat with the feeling that you need to be on your best behaviour whilst surrounded by banking logos and high rollers who have paid for front seats - yuck. That or dingy, one off, basement club appearances like Prince did please.
  16. Much prefer stadiums/festivals here. More anarchic, better atmos and the mosh pits are ace fun. Sod the golden circle bores.
  17. Barcelona - she's much more fierce/funny and has better hair (plus I love the bloopers). Nice is crass/forced by comparison, although I love the emotional ending.
  18. This! It's all about the nuns, headbanging, feet shuffling and "GOD?" stabs. BAT was laced with humour and raunch. All the later versions were annoyingly anodyne and they kinda lost of irony of the song lyrics in the process.
  19. Controversially - I only ever liked the Blond Ambition version. Every other attempt since then pales into insignificance (even MET gala). Am I the only one?
  20. I'm not sure she's inner circle enough for that.
  21. So no one is trying for tickets? (I'm all over it just in case).
  22. Legends slot is Sunday early afternoon. Headline set is on Saturday night (or Sunday I guess) - I predict The Cure for Saturday though - which I'm also EXCITED about in fairness. I wonder if she'll do it? Literally no clue.
  23. God I always think of this album as quite recent but it's 20 friggin' years old. :/
