  9. Not people on here saying that this monotonous and generic club remix is better than anything on Madame X, one of her most creative and meaningful albums ever... the lack of flavor.. the lack of taste...
  10. twitter isn't the only place it's being dragged on tho. YouTube comments are pretty reflective of the GP and the reception is not positive.
  11. i saw that, hopefully it doesn't get more traction. luckily cupcakke hasn't been relevant since 2015. alright tho what do we do as Madonna fans if this blows up, we need to prepare
  12. i mean i thought it was kind of cringey when i first saw it (like i think about a lot of her insta posts) but some people on twitter are acting reallyyyyy pissed about this, jesus. it's definitely just outrage for the sake of being outraged honestly. a lot of people hate madonna and will take any opportunity to drag her. something that kind of concerns me tho are people taking this opportunity to pull up that 2013 post where she calls Rocco the n-word. it already caused a controversy but I think the general public forgot about it and we as Madonna fans reallyyy don't need people to start talking about that again. That's something that could really hurt her legacy and image in the eyes of the public. Scared i'm gonna wake up to a #MadonnaIsOverParty
  13. yeah i mean i guess like a virgin is overrated by the general public but it's trashed by fans pretty often, it's consistently ranked near the bottom by people who are actual madonna fans.
  14. Right? It's basically mentioned in every single review of Madonna's new music
  15. thanks for your response, I'm 20 so sadly I wasn't old enough to experience the album's era but I'm sure it must have been wonderful to see Madonna back on top and returning to the style of music that made her famous. Not to say this applies to everyone but I do think a lot of people associate how much they like an album with how much they liked the era, (music videos, tour, photoshoots, promotions, outfits) and not the actual music itself.
  16. that makes the era a cool pop culture moment but that doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the music itself
  17. I'm fully prepared to be dragged for this but I think we should have this conversation. Confessions is an album that has aged very well, the production is amazing, and it was cool of her to release an album of this style in the middle of the 2000s. That being said, a great portion of the songs just aren't very good. In fact, the production might be so good that they hide the fact that many of the songs are quite weak on their own. The album does have great songs like Hung Up, Get Together, Let It Will Be, and How High, but the rest just isn't great. Madonna herself doesn't seem to be a fan of this album either, which is why after the era was finished she stopped performing songs from it (besides hung up on the occasional tour). Confessions was the beginning of her creative decline, where she started feeling obligated to make a certain type of music after American Life (one of her best albums) flopped. Thankfully Madonna's creative spirit lives on with Madame X. It's not that I don't like dance music, her 80s albums are great examples of dance music well done, because the songs themselves are actually good and can stand on their own if they were to be stripped down and played acoustically. Even Hard Candy and MDNA are at least good for working out to. Most of the songs on Confessions are too slow to work out to or even dance to, but too fast to just listen to while relaxing at home. I'm always confounded to see Confessions consistently ranked in the top 3 of most Madonna fans album ranking; people really like Confessions more than masterpieces like Ray of Light, Erotica, or Like A Prayer? Really? I think fans at the time were just happy to see Madonna making music for the dance floor again, but the album really is a sad shadow of what her dance music used to be. The album definitely sounds better in the mixed version, but that just adds to my point that it's the production techniques that makes the album seem good, not the songs themselves. Anyways, I think it's time to stop pretending like Confessions is her best/only good album of this century. Every time she releases something new, it's always compared to Confessions or called "her best work since confessions", as if nothing she does will ever measure up. I am not saying it's a bad album I just think it's overrated and honestly maybe one of the most overrated pop albums of this century (because of how incredibly highly it is regarded). Anyone else agree? disagree? let's discuss
  18. Confessions and Music, both have great songs but are full of meh tracks (especially confessions) and seem to lack real personality at least Hard Candy and MDNA are good to work out to
  19. I'm still so satisfied by Madame X that I haven't really been thinking about a new album I'd honestly be down for anything, after Madame X I trust her taste again. I'd love a nice spiritual album where she reunites with Patrick Leonard, nice and mature, beautiful music like they always make, that would probably be my ideal album for her. I also would enjoy a trap/hip hop album that is nice and vibey, where the songs are in the vein of Crave and Champagne Rose, something to play at a chill party It'd be great to see her return to uptempo dance music, but if she does I hope it's like her 80s dance pop music or Hard Candy, please no disco like Confessions. It's sad that a lot of her fans and gays won't appreciate any of her new music unless it sounds like Confessions.
