  1. You might be interested to know, Ain't No Big Deal was among a number of early demos when she was shopping around for a contract. I believe it was one of the songs on her demo tape, given to Seymour Stein, when he agreed to sign her to Sire Records. At some point, Madonna and Stephen Bray had a falling out and since Bray had attained rights to the song, he allowed the Barracuda's in '83 to record it. Madonna later re-recorded it, and first appeared on the album Revenge of the Killer B's in 1985. It became the b-side to the Japanese release of Angel, and her world-wide releases of Papa Don't Preach and True Blue in 1986. Here is the Barracuda version of the song: As you can hear, Madonna's version is far superior and while some of her demo versions were a bit out there, she still sounded best singing it. But of course, I guess that's subjective.
  2. Makes me wonder if she and her family/friends took a private airplane recently being she was reported to be in her Lisbon home not even a week ago. I bet that was a bit tricky being flights from Europe were not being allowed in the U.S. at the time. It pays to be a wealthy celebrity. Meanwhile Newt Gingrich is currently still quarantined in Italy.
  3. I blame it on Madonna's influence. She was shooting guns as early as the WHO'S THAT GIRL tour performance during "White Heat". LOL!
  4. I think they were going for more of a "shock and awe", especially with the original video until it got too real in the U.S. at the time, and she and her team back down. I don't blame her because the DIxie Chicks got a lot of hate and death threats when the lead singer criticized George Bush in a different country. The cool thing is; they may have gotten a lot of crap thrown at them, and slightly was pushed off the radar some, but even now they are back with an album that heavily criticizes the current Trump administration. No one is saying shit these days about it.
  5. Great question! I put it with the album it originally came with. For instance, I would put "Ain't No Big Deal" with the Madonna album, knowing that song had demos before she even got a record contract. "Supernatural" would go with the LAP album (even though I believe it's actually a left over from the True Blue album).
  6. I agree with @PWCCA. All of them are gold! True Blue stands out to me the most. That cover is just iconic. Every song I love and can listen to over an over without ever tiring of them.
  7. Good idea. Though, I don't like how Itunes/Apple makes it nearly impossible to include other formats or non-apple music to sync up. I feel like I have to jump through hoops to get the music on my Iphone. And since Itunes is being fazed out, I'm not sure if it's possible anymore since I haven't tried since updating to Apple music. I refuse to pay for a subscription.
  8. Oh, I assumed it was both the soundtrack and film. I never pay attention to these things since I rarely stream anything of hers since I own it all. It's the same with most artists I enjoy. I prefer to own their work, rather rely on streaming services.
  9. It probably isn't getting a lot of plays. They may have removed it to make room for other more popular steaming films. Honestly, I wouldn't put much thought to it. It'll probably be back up down the road.
  10. I do agree there. Though, her "Golden" album seemed a bit different than the rest. I remember being a fan of her first album and then excited to buy her follow ups and was very disappointed. Though, I do love her cover of "Tears On My Pillow".
  11. Yes, "Body of Work" was so complete at the time. It was when I discovered Bedtime Stories was going to be released as I had been so busy and didn't realize she was releasing an album at that time. I would love for her to document more of her making her albums. Kurt and Madonna got a long so well. I missed those two.
  12. Fascinating info @TonyMontana Can't wait to hear your other "secret"!
  13. It wouldn't be American Life would it? LOL!
  14. Here is a compilation of all Madonna's vogue performances minus Madame X:
  15. Yes! And very songs I love the bridges in. Causing a Commotion may have the best bridge of those you mentioned.
  16. Ha! So if someone pointed a gun to your head and told you to choose, which would it be? (I know! It's quite extreme, but I'm determined to get it out of you).
  17. I don't see the comparisons between the two, but I do know Kate Bush is far more talented and artistic. Kylie is a huge pop artist. I never was able to get past her second album. Then she got popular in the U.S. with "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and while it's a good song, I liked a couple other follow up singles better. But again, it's just pure pop fun, nothing too artistic.
  18. Hmm I don't really hear it? Are you referring to this?
  19. Wow! Thanks for posting this. It's interesting that Celine had to do over a thousand shows to get almost 300,000 less than her. Though, Taylor and Beyonce could easily catch up to Madonna. Do we know if Madame X is actually included in this count? I know it says up to 2020, but I'm just curious?
  20. So which of the three do you like most?
  21. Such a cool of a fan mix of Vogue with people in the club vogueing and dancing to the remix:
  22. Yes, I do too! So many songs we'd love to hear that are in the vaults.
  23. Do you really think she chooses her B-sides? I bet you that is a record company decision just like that Crazy For You re-issue you're referring to. They definitely were using the Immaculate Collection and Justify My Love era to entice people with that cover.
  24. It's actually a couple years old, but fascinating tid bits from the directors of Madonna's videos. Much of it we know, but I thought I'd post just in case some haven't read through this before: Express Yourself: The Making of Madonna’s 20 Greatest Music Videos https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/express-yourself-the-making-of-madonnas-20-greatest-music-videos-140803/hung-up-2005-64968/
