    You're right.
Joan respected her fans until the end.

    Irrespected isn't a word.
And I don't need the door. I never entered the Madame X house.

Well sorry to sound heartless but charity begins at home and Madonna has enough cash to donate to Malawi.
Not to mention the whole concept just seems off. All that time she lived in NYC and never seen a comedian do this? FFS I went to Joan RIver's A Piece of Work, VIP, front row and backstage pass for less than $200. She was glorious and she has fans come up and undo her costume zip and threw her "incontinence pad" to someone in audience - the show I went to it was lucky me which she then signed backstage.
There's just something off with this tour, it's like the theatre version of the film "The Money Pit".
Remember she used to throw her guitar pick out into the audience...now I'd expect someone from management coming to person who caught it to say it costs then $1000...!

Which is ironic because all the "Do It Better" shirts she wore in RIT were from Banana Republic.

    Yikes. From MadonnaTribe:

Opening night in Francisco didn’t go too well - the crowd was seated for much of the show including many in the front row which clearly upset madonna . During god control most of the crowd remained seated until mid way through when they finally woke up, woke up, woke up woke up...

One fan who I know has seen Madonna 100+ times around the world including most of the NY and Chicago shows said “this was the worst crowd at any Madonna show I’ve ever seen”. Eek. Try harder San Francisco!!

A couple in the front row left during Human Nature - Madonna asked “why?” And called them “trash” who were probably wearing Banana Republic!!

Adding to the problems is that the stage is 12feet from the front row. Madonnas management were asking fans in the front row to fill the gap but venue security kept sending them backward.

There were no serious bidders for the Polaroid. Someone offered $400 and was told by a playful madonna to fuck off, so a friend of Madonna’s bid $10k and promised to pay later.

The Beer Bitch moment looks to continue to be over for now at least, and was Madonna sat on the stairs having a group chat with the audience, although one fan was chosen to hand her the beer before the group chat began.

She excited on the beer bitch side as there was no centre aisle.

Hopefully the next night in San Francisco will Come Alive!

Not to be hateful towards her or anything, but this seems like the most realistic reaction from the audience here. Based on the audio recordings and the stories she shares on Instagram, the opening, while it's an epic song, wasn't really performed in the best way possible nor with an epic entrance like say Girl Gone Wild at MDNA Tour or Future Lovers at Confessions Tour.
People leaving early? they were leaving early in most dates because she was late and many wanted to catch public transport or trains to other cities.
Management and security issues? well yeah, those are no long surprising, seeing that they made ticket sales a lottery and sent out merchandise 6 months later, were never on time, scheduled and cancelled so many dates..etc.
As for the polaroid, I'm actually really glad that people offered $400, because really, why would anyone pay $4000 or or $6000 or even $1000 for a polaroid that is badly photographed, mimics roughly the same pose every time and doesn't even feature the fan or the singer's autograph? Like I'm not one to tell you what to spend your money on, but for me just because there's a price tag on something or someone paid a certain amount for that something, doesn't mean that the quality and value of said thing is worth the price. You may say "who are you to decide?" well who is anyone else to decide that it's worth more or less? The fact that this tour is selling way less than her past tours and the polaroid has had some issues and low bids before and now too, goes to show that people value their money more than hype culture, which is a good thing, and that just because she's Madonna doesn't mean that she could put shit in a box and write $1000 on it. Many people thought a terrible seat for $500 isn't worth it for them, so they didn't go.
The beer bitch moment seemed rather weird as multiple times people mentioned her being rude towards the person, like saying "do people have jobs in Greece?" or making fun of their accent or telling them that they should've thought of better answers..etc. That's really rude and for someone who have paid to see her or hell even met her in the street, no need to talk to people like that and kindness is free. She may not "owe" them anything, but common decency is a thing really. The fact that someone respected you enough pay for your show should be at least treated with some basic manners and gratitude, regardless of how famous or rich you are.

    I feel the same.
I adore her as a performer and as an artist, but I don’t believe any of her love and humanity speeches actually represent how she would treat her audience, or treat a stranger on the street. It’s been well documented for years that’s she’s probably not what many of us would consider a ‘nice’ person.
    Its a hustle... it’s a con...

But again, that’s okay, I wouldn’t say any of us are fans of her because of her sparkling
, kind and friendly personality... she’s an artist and performer, and she does that very well.

I love your thoughts on the show!

interestingly your views match mine and that’s purely from bootlegs, as I don’t see the show until February. The second act is certainly where the show seems to sag, and the communication between her and the audience is the weak point in the show.

I would hate to spend all that money for her to sit down next to me and be rude to me. I’d rather her entertain me on stage (as that’s what I’d be paying for) than have her sit next to me, and then bitch that she doesn’t like what I have to say because I’m probably way too mortified that Madonna is sat next to me, in a questionable mood, with a microphone.

I wonder if she’s aware of the way her remarks and general attitude seems to impact on her audiences emotions and perception? It’s something you touch upon twice in your review.  I seem to recall her I refractions in 2015/16 being really, really friendly. I wonder what’s happened? It’s like she’s trying to be a smart ass but maybe comes across more nasty than smart. We can all be a bit snarky at times but it costs nothing to be nice on the whole.
I think I’m the only fan who LOVES the new remix of Crave! It’s AMAZING
ah well, just a thought. Some fans would relish in that type of contact with Madonna but personally it wouldn’t do anything for me, I’d much sooner be ten rows back and out of her target range

Britney has done it too where she's made other musicians turn around and not say a word to her (or someone on her team demands this) I love Madonna to death but it doesn't justify it especially given the user posting this information says there are other doors that lead directly to the backstage area directly. Whether she wants to engage with staff or not, it's simple to walk to A to B without needing people to turn around. You are human after all and that's why the whole "treat others as you want to be treated" thing she constantly promotes is hollow because of things like this. There's privacy and safety issues of course but she's always surrounded by her security so I find it hard to believe there's some deeper reason other than a star thinking mentality. If they can do, they'll do it. She's not the only celeb that has this before shows.

I love her dearly and always will ( like I know you do and everyone here), but this "elitism" thing with most (not all) celebrities is a turn off. At the same time, I think they are scared of someone hurting them or their family especially in such a violent age. So, they put up a lot of walls and security. Even still, that's no excuse for showing love for everyone and treating everyone like you'd want to be treated.

None of this is remotely surprising, but it’s interesting.

Shame about the staff having to turn their backs, that’s one way respect and it’s a false prophecy, and as for the toilet seat? Erm... Late finishes aside though it sounds like the staff had an overall great experience, and it’s not the kinda artist  imagine you’d think you’d get to see working in a theatre!

I seen the show in ny. I didn’t like it. It was boring. But thats my opinion.  Some people liked it and some didnt. But I can’t take most of yall serious. Don’t come here with that bullsht ‘the people that are negative about the tour havent even seen it’.  That statement is tired through and old now.

So according to you, I shouldn’t have been hyped for Drowned World, Re-Invention and Confessions Tour back when I only saw even less than what was shown from this one on Instagram? Because you can’t have it both ways.
Also what does Rolling Stones have to do with my take? Where did I tell anyone not to enjoy or have an opinion about it? It is you and those like you who do some mental gymnastics to invalidate any criticism which is quite pathetic because you’re not winning any points for acting all positive and your opinion doesn’t really hold any more wait than anyone else’s just because a critic agrees with you
Also I didn’t say I’m superior nor did I intend to make anyone feel inferior, so that really is your insecurity speaking here. Either way, what I’ve see so far looks pretty cheap, and I do have enough to know that too much is badly auto tuned, her outfits on her instagram look uninspired and the set is simplistic and doesn’t light a candle to the wonders she’s done before. No matter how many reviews you throw at me isn’t gonna make the outfits I saw or the set seem any more exciting than it already is. But if you wanna waste time convincing people they are wrong for seeing it as mediocre, feel free to waste your time.

Good that it was praised. Just because it was praised doesn’t mean it can’t be criticized. It’s art, there’s no objective truth about it. Can you enjoy it? Sure. Can you love it for it is? Yes. Can you dislike it? Absolutely. Is it as Hugh budget as MDNA Tour? Objectively not.

Oxana is a scammer and a thief and we shouldn't be promoting her.  It's well known now that she printed fake tickets to try to get to the front in many shows, now this is a polaroid photo of Rosie's polaroid, and she's trying to sell it for $2k on auction sites.  And we won't go into her "documentary" and how she's exploiting fans who are ignorant of her antics...

My thoughts exactly. I don’t think $10m is anything to be proud of especially how every show had tickets for sale up until the last minute. NYC is the longest run for the tour, and Chicago even has front row seats for sale until now, not to mention the discounts.
Madonna has achieved far more than this before and she should’ve really stuck with arenas and stadiums, because that’s where the money is especially that she always puts on the best shows.

"First 16 shows for Madonna's Madame X tour grossed a total of 9.6 million ....
Average per show was about $600 k .....
While OF COURSE they are small theaters with insane prices , insiders say the shows were designed and originally priced to gross $1 million or higher per show .... but with repriced tickets and tons of unsold tickets, that didn’t happen ....
Other cities will be lower ...."
