  1. yes, Open Your Heart (Extended & Dub) sounds a little strange (in my opinion)... The album version sounds flawless.
  2. Well, the "master" quality is far away to be a real master (at least talking about the Madonna's catalog). But they have the same quality as others FLAC sources or commercial CDs. For me, Tidal is the best site for music right now (because I can download the songs without losing quality).
  3. Ok, I've got my "master" version from TIDAL. And "Where's The Party" and "Love Makes The World Go Round" are fucked at the beginning... And the songs are compressed (Loudness War). But I like the sound quality in general at this moment (I need to play the full album).
  4. We calling it "Remix Edit" because is a "Remix - Edit of Extended Version". There is not other reason. But again, you are right. "Remix Edit" is not the official name.
  5. You are right. The only official names are "Open Your Heart (Edit of Extended Version)" on US promo 7'', "Open Your Heart (Remix)" on UK commercial 7'' and "It's That Girl Cassette", and just "Open Your Heart" (without the Remix) in European 7'' vinyls.
  6. For many of us, it's the version that we knew and loved in 1986. It's was the version available on the 7'' vinyl in Europe. And it's an edit of the extended version but using the structure of the album version (like the singles of "True Blue", "La Isla Bonita", "Like A Prayer", "Express Yourself", "Cherish" and the promotional 7'' version of "Keep It Together"). Even in the US promo is written "Edit of Extended Version": https://www.discogs.com/Madonna-Open-Your-Heart/release/12758286
  7. Don't worry. I'm sure that these tracks are new digital transfers.
  8. No. They were available on CD before (but "Open Your Heart (Dub)" had a problem with the sound quality).
  9. I was talking in general (not only Madonna's fans) as I've said two post later. You are not the only one who repeat the "unhappy" mantra. But if you want to take my comments like an attack to you, no problem. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you when I was speaking in general.
  10. I mean it's a problem in general, not only with Madonna's videos and songs. I spent years wanting to buy FLAC or WAV files, but people are happy with 192 mp3s. The same with films and tv series. People in general are happy with DVD and doesn't care about Blu-rays or UHD. That is the reason why I've told you is a losing battle, because people doesn't care about the quality in audio/video files. And if you complain about the quality, then you are "a sad person who cannot enjoy anything".
  11. You will always lose in this fight because some fans doesn't care about her legacy preserved in the best quality. If you complain about this problem, then your are not "happy" never...
  12. I've always thought that the combo "Holiday"-"Like A Virgin" was the fuel to start her meteoric career.
  13. Warner only need to release 2 cd (a remaster without the loudness war, with the 7'' & 12'' versions) plus a DVD with four videos. That is not expensive at all. What's the problem? Sometimes I can't understand this woman.
  14. No, no. "Spanish Eyes" was released as promotional single in 1990 almost at the same time of "Keep It Together". "Express Yourself" was a huge hit in Spain in the summer of 1989 so Wea Spain didn't need another single. Even Cherish sold well in Spain. I think that it was the "flop" of "Dear Jessie" the reason why Wea released "Spanish Eyes" weeks later (many radio stations played the song from the album before to be an official spanish single). --- PS: A little story with "Like a Prayer" album: In my town, in 1989, for many people a "CD" was something strange, rare. So a record store gave some CDs to the local radio stations to promote the new format. "Like A Prayer" was one of this "promotional" CDs. So usually the radio stations of my town played different songs from those CDs consecutively (three or four different tracks after the lunch time) while they promoted the quality of the CDs discs available to buy on that record store. I hated that because they played the album versions instead the single versions (and after "The Immaculate Collection" they never aired the original 7'' vinyls again).
  15. In my experience, even in the 70s, many singles were album edits (and many times the album versions were extended singles). I think that it was a mutual pact between labels and radio stations. If the songs were shorter, more different songs were aired in a limited period of time (and more songs were promoted for the labels). 7'' vinyls doesn't have problems with longer songs, but to keep the proper sound quality they need to reduce the volume, and that was bad for the radio stations (nowadays that it's not a problem because they normalize the volume with any digital filter). Anyway, I remember (I can be wrong) in the 70s, and even the 80s, labels selling more singles than full albums. This changed in the 80s, and the 7'' started to decline in sales. People wanted to buy full albums. It was a nightmare for me to find 7'' in my town after 1988, only 12'' (my town is really small).
  16. My biggest problem with "Dear Jessie" is that I feel like it was something made by Warner, and hurt the "Like A Prayer" era in Europe. I always thought that Madonna had nothing to do with this release. "Oh, Father" would had worked better in Europe. But that is my opinion.
  17. Oh, those days playing the radio stations Burning Up and Holiday... I loved burning up and I recorded the song from the radio, but they didn't say who was the singer or the title. Years playing that cassette until I bought "The first album" in 1987 and I discovered that "Burning Up" was a Madonna' song. I was so happy... Sadly It wasn't the same version played by the radio stations... Oh, I really miss those days loving Madonna without to be a fan... (Express Yourself changed that...)
  18. Oh, I like that cover too. But it was like Warner took a random funny photo (and the picture CD had a photo from the cherish video-clip). It has no sense. And I've always loved the "Oh, Father" cover. Why "Dear Jessie" in Europe and not "Oh, Father"? I have never understood that.
  19. @EgoRod I know it. I just talking about my experience with that song. And I knowed the song promoted as part of "Barcelona Gold". And later, with the videoclip, as part of "A league of my own". Local radios doesn't work like national radios. And in 1992 internet was something prehistoric to find info. My only info when the song was premiered was a local radio station in Africa (Melilla).
  20. I have a clear memory. I was in Melilla that summer. The radio stations started to play song every hour-non stop (al least in the biggest Melilla Radio Station) and they only promoted the song talking about "Barcelona Gold". And I ran to the record store to buy the CD (and I still have my copy near mint). Until the video-clip I didn't know it was part of the OST of "A league of their own". Of course Freddy's Barcelona was promoted, but more in adult radio stations.
  21. In Europe (except in France) "Oh Father" wasn't released. I would have kill for a 12'' with the original cover. Instead we got "Dear Jessie" with Madonna using the Mickey Mouse ears as cover... Why?
