  1. I'm sorry, but I still see this album as her: "I'm sorry, I've been a bad girl. Now I'm good girl again. Forgive me." It's not a bad album (for me one of her worst). It has three or four amazing songs and the first Madonna's track that I hate: "Human Nature" (I love the lyrics, I really hate the music). Thanks God for "Ray of Light" years later. It was boring to be a fan during the "Bedtime Stories" era. Of course, this is my opinion, not a fact...
  2. Really? Well, using the random play: Click image to make it bigger
  3. Yes, but we still have the same problem, these masters are not the original, these master were made for vinyl. They can sound almost the japanese pressings but the problems are still there (Surface noise, high frequencies a little distorted, the tracking goes and going...) Anyway, with the japanese EQ the tracks sounds really OK: Open Your Heart (Dub) [With JP EQ]: [Hidden Content] Causing A Commotion (Yellow CD) [With JP EQ] [Hidden Content]
  4. As awful they sound, they are my best treasure. Like it or not, the yellow CDs replicate the original 12'' vinyls. And if you have a good audio software, it's very easy to create a new wav that sounds almost identical to the japanese EP (except for "Who's That Girl"). I did a video comparing CDs (The finished result is unpolished because this is just a test): https://mega.nz/file/g0lXSAiJ#2P3yNyROw2XUrjTNQ5CZH4FeQ8rv4kTp-I1cXA2YSzg (59 seconds) The star re-issues sound better. But the japanese EPs have the best quality sound.
  5. The original german 12'' quality is amazing. I think that the problem with the yellow CD was the mastering. They didn't use the original masters. They used the masters created specifically for vinyl pressings. You can't record on vinyl the original signal, you need to filter it, and I'm sure they didn't restored properly the original signal for the CD pressings. Only after Like A Prayer the mastering is right on the yellow CDs (because the masters for CD pressings were created previously in 1989). PS: "Who's that Girl" is the worst CD created ever. Even the speed is wrong...
  6. But only two or three tracks are only available on those German CDs.The rest is available on japanese CDs or similar with good quality. Don't worry.
  7. if my memory serves me well, they are the same, with same running time (4:07) but I need to check them. In the 80s, many B-sides on 7'' are regular versions with early fades. Anyway, don't forget this: Many running times on labels are wrong.
  8. No, they are not the same. The Edit of the Spanish single is just the regular album version with early Fade Out.
  9. What will happen with these B-Sides? US 7'': Papa don't Preach/Pretender UK 7'': Papa don't Preach/Ain't No Big Deal US 7'': True Blue/Ain't No Big Deal UK 7'': True Blue (Remix Edit)/Holiday (Edit)
  10. The "Original Version" was always named "Single Version" on labels since day 1. So this is not the problem with Spotify.
  11. Mmmm Hung Up... Well... I'm agree (But I should be "Express Yourself" or "Live To Tell").
  12. Change "La Isla Bonita (Remix Instrumental Edit)" for the "Remix Edit" and "Fever (Edit One)" for "Edit Two" and would be the perfect singles compilation.
  13. I don't know in other countries, but in Spain, the radio stations replaced all the "single versions" with "Immaculate versions". Only because the Immaculate Collection was available on CD and the original singles on vinyl. Now with the streaming of old singles in digital format, maybe the original singles will be play again.
  14. So all my compilations are sacrilegious. What can I say? I'm a sinner and I like it that way.
  15. I only want a box set with all her singles from the 80s on CD with all remixes & edits created on that decade. But now the CD is almost dead, so my dream box set will never come true.
  16. I knew the album version before the single version. I loved it. But I remember the first time I heard the single version intro in the radio. It's was like a slap in your face to leave everything and start to dance. As far as I know this is Madonna's only song with two really different intros converging in the same "album" mix (obviously, I'm not talking about extended versions, remixes, or regular edits). I love both intros.
  17. When I say "Basic Upscale" doesn't mean "Just a pixel resize without any filter". I mean I don't see the same type of AI upscale like other videos.
  18. Well, they are not real HD, but many of them looks good in 1080p. Express Yourself looks like a basic upscale. They didn't change the title with the word "HD" like they did with another videos.
  19. Maybe because it's just a simple upscale. No AI used to create a fake but credible HD like other videos (Erotica, Frozen, etc, etc).
  20. The last one upscaled has the original audio. I can't hear any reconstruction.
  21. Yes, the video was filmed with the album version (or 7'' remix) in mind. But Madonna loved the house version and she premiered the video using the "Remix Edit with Local Mix intro" (4:59).
  22. No, this last one upscale is the original one sent to TV stations. And the Celebration Version is almost identical to the one sent to TV stations, but it has a "Zipper Sound" at the beginning. The immaculate version doesn't have the album version audio. It has the 7'' Remix audio (using the Local mix intro). So Express Yourself have three video versions: - Original Version (the one sent to TV Stations) (4:59) - Original Version with Zipper Sound (Celebration DVD) (5:01) - Alternate Short Version (The Immaculate Video Collection) (4:24) This version was aired after the premiere by a music channel in 1989 in US, but I'm not from US so I can't confirm this. I think this version was made to remove the sex scenes at the end and to sound more like the album version. I've read people claiming that an "Alternate Short Version with Zipper Sound" exist, but I've never seen any proof of this in 30 years.
  23. Yes, it is. I've said it in another post. They have upscaled the original master/video send to TV stations in 1989. Not the Celebration one, neither the alternate short version available on The Immaculate Video Collection.
