  1. I wanna die... never admit it but it hurts... I suggest 5 each round (20-16, 15-11, 10-4), and the top3 on its own.
  2. Question: how were the rules? You were free to give as many 10s as you wanted?
  3. Obviously I didn't find any decent one :1f614: How strange, I would have expected many journalists and papers to comment and film that specific one!
  4. First of all... well done TIME STOOD STILL, you came from so behind and arrived so high in the chart!! A very good result for RESCUE ME... It would have fit perfectly in a RHT section about the end of the world... How strange for EXPRESS YOURSELF didn't make it; it thought it could be in the Top3 SECRET is a good song, but I'm not into "mmmm" choruses, such as Frozen LIVING FOR LOVE could have done better if the last part had been arranged better, it still lacks something, pity! LA ISLA BONITA may be overrated, but it was the FIRST song to sound Spanish, it paved the road, let's not forget that! But almost every song makes me sad... Ghosttown, Jump... but it had to happen. I hope Like a prayer wins and not Vogue!
  5. May God bless you! When we thought there was no chance anymore... I am collecting all UB performances...
  6. Who was the Unapologetic Bitch yesterday?

  7. Have you seen this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddQexQzGmaQ But please any news about the UB of the evening?
  8. Thanks! I really don't get why this asshole does this In the meantime... this one should be real (Illuminati): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1kdCWEuIKs
  9. First videos coming... This one is labelled "YOU don't LEAVE anymore" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEORZRqwGv0 I don't know if it's really Edmonton because this person put "Edmonton videos" one week ago Can someone tell if it's fake?? This one is real: https://instagram.com/p/8uvAwHjZqA/?taken-by=marvingofin
  10. From Canadian press: http://edmontonjournal.com/entertainment/music/review-madonna-performs-miracles-during-first-of-two-edmonton-shows In the crowd: Mostly fortysomething (and older) women and men who grew up during the Walkman era of the ’80s. (Surprisingly, very few brought their offspring — there was a noticeable lack of fans younger than 20 years old, perhaps due to Madonna’s steep ticket prices.) Hundreds of women wore Madge-inspired outfits, from Like A Virgin wedding dresses to tutus to bullfighter’s suits. Well then don't ask ypurself why she's performing Who's that girl and True blue... No offspring? Maybe because almost everyone's gay? http://madonnaunderground.com/edmonton-sun-strong-show-from-the-material-girl/ As for her voice, it’s been joked that Madonna makes a good case in favour of lip-syncing, but while there seemed to be a ton of processing and doubling on the lead vocals, there were lots of moments where she appeared to actually be singing. Imagine. But who comes to a Madonna concert to hear Madonna sing? Of course not. We come for the twerking nuns. If I were Madonna, who always wants to be considered a professionist, I would feel ashamed to be considered someone who can't sing and I would take singing lessons and not only dance and gym classes. But I'd add to the person who wrote the article, well F*** YOU!
  11. Seeing them all together makes you realize that the third song is not very strong! I voted Causing a commotion because it is one of the most original. But then I didn't notice GANG BANG which is a story inside the story, it stands out on its own, so I deleted the previous one and voted this one, although it is so violent... the Nineties violence compared to the XXI century violence...
  12. Virgin Tour is very simple, but M was very young, it wasn't a world tour, probably it was less expensive. It is just Madonna singing in front of a live audience. It's kind of a preparation. I need to defend Who's That Girl. In the Eighties it was all about rock concerts, so Madonna was changing the way a rock concert was conceived. Everyone was so shocked. Taking out her underwear during a song? Background images of Reagan and the Pope in Papa don't preach? She was making it theatrical, not just music but political messages: it is, again, an anticipation of what Blond Ambition was going to be. BA is iconic, real theatre, but to make it this way in a certain way they had to give up with live music. A lot of lipsynch and poor musical arrangements (with great exceptions). Listen back to Holiday 1987: Pat Leonard did a great job. But of course there are better tours. Girlie Show is musically very interesting: Everybody is the finest example, with all his black music citations, but also Rain and Like a virgin. I love the stripped-down finale with Madonna taking out her mask... The Circus concept gives a thematic unity to the different segments. And I love those moments with Donna and Nicky, I miss them so much. Maybe the two background girls went too far, too noticed?? DWT is so dark. I disagree, the first section is not the best. There are boring moments everywhere, and some great songs such as Frozen and La isla bonita. The cowboy still is Music's leitmotiv, so of course it's included and many fans in the audience wore cowboy hats, it was like the wannabes in the Eighties, very nice. Re-Invention: I expected more songs to be reinvented, though, as the wonderful Deeper and Deeper. Madonna tried a show with less dancing but the public didn't seem to appreciate. Pity, because she was singing live. If they did, her career could have gone to a more mature, adult-oriented direction. I appreciate the acoustic part even if it's not as spectacular; exactly as I do for Rebel Heart Tour. I think of M as something more than a disco queen: but then we had Confessions, which is perfect in its presentation (costume, music, coreography) even if I wouldn't vote it number one. S&S let me down: just a tour-de-force, where nobody cares too much about music. Even You must love me, although very emotional, was often badly sung. The new songs in the 2009 leg were awful imo (sorry, Fighter!!). The Michael Jackson tribute was soooo poor. No real singing: better Billie Jean in 1985!! Nice to have the fans request, though. But nothing compared to the setlist variations she is giving us at the moment! MDNA Tour is between my favourite because I watched it in the triangle, so it was special being so close. The stage was incredible, too many things to see... maybe too many.
  13. Is it true Don't cry for me Argentina was rehearsed??
  14. I was there in 1996 and I had the chance to listen to the whole Evita soundtrack on acetate before it was released.
  15. I like Unapologetic Bitch a lot as a song, and I like the moment in the show, but we've already seen a video with fans. And it would be very hard to edit. The best is after the song is finished. Holy Water is a little too risky... it may offend a lot of people. I like the performance, but I have to admit that the Last Supper turned into a orgy is a lot more than Like a prayer video or the Live to tell crucifixion scene! Devil pray would need a lot of improvement. The idea is nice, mixing different religions, but not everything in the staging of the song works. The idea of Angels and Devil fighting that was spoilered during rehearsals sounded much better. Rebel Heart is a fantastic song and it was so nice from M to include the fans' contributions. I'm not into that kind of artistic expression, though, some are just mere reproductions of pictures, and I prefer the originals (sorry!!) and I don't like the idea of another video lookng back at the different styles and "reinventions", as DWT Music and S&S She's not me which were excellent. That's why I voted Iconic, even if I still think that it's not M's best entrance and that outfit is not iconic enough... can't compare with BA Gaultier... no competition! The staging is a little too baroque. Japan meets Middle Age. A Joan of Arc concept would have been better imo. Some parts of the video with the Oscar costume could be interesting too. At the end of the day I'd vote for a totally new video, Turn up the radio wasn't that bad if you compare it to Get together! And I keep hoping and dreaming and wishing!
  16. Another HeartBreakRound... I knew it from the start... baby please don't hurt me So many beautiful ballads are going. But I knew. This time I was scared to read.... :rip: You'll see: the best empowerment song ever, it is paired now by Living for love. Promise to try: I think there are many beautiful songs about death of a dear one, but they always say the same things. Take one of the greatest ever, Eric Clapton's Tears in heaven for instance. Madonna's song is so original, so deep, it says so many difficult things about forgetting and remembering. It is so sincere. In a certain way I am only a little unconfortable thinking of the use made in Truth or dare movie: I fear Christopher may be right... Can you show such a intimate moment as the visit to your mother's grave in front of the cameras? Still is one of the most touching scenes in the movie. You must love me: so simple yet so perfect. The guitar rendition in S&S is simply awesome (even if sometimes it was slightly out of tune ). I've covered it many times and I can really feel it. Spanish eyes: a beautiful songs about war and desaparecidos. One of M's most mature tracks. Bad Girl: a nice ballad, fits perfectly in Erotica and gives a different side to the album. It would be nice to see it reworked acoustic and not electronic. I'm in love with... Nothing Fails: one of the most underrated singles, not to make a proper video was a crime. But Madonna made a lot of mistakes in American Life promotion, and after the video withdrawn she seemed to have lost faith in the video format.... Also Hollywood and Love profusion are not that interesting. The original AL is pure perfection  Let It Will Be: I'm still confused with the title... Deeper and Deeper: maybe Shep Pettibone was right and the Spanish break makes no sense, but it sounds so nice! And the Vogue citation is easy and cheesy but we all love it! And M knows it, so she reused the idea in Holy Water.... ooops! :Madonna053: I would have liked to hear Nothing really matters in the new tour, there were so many indiscretions about it being rehearsed... remember some posts a little too offensive? :mama010: Yet the idea of the song is better explained in Drowned World and Rebel Heart, imo...
  17. I don't like the performance that much and I wouldn't vote it, but why is Devil pray excluded?
  18. The two DEVILS are gone now... Both songs are excellent, both are very close to their first inspiration: HC's Devil reminds me a little too much of Justin's Cry me a river, while RH's Devil is really a tribute (is it intentional?) to Animals' House of the rising sun. I'm not too impressed by Impressive Instant, I don't know if it had to be single... Definitely I want you, with its magnificent video, had to: it is hard to match Marvin Gaye, but Massive Attack made a wonderful rendition out of it and Madonna gave the song a new meaning. You may all know by now that I'm a huge Evita fan (I think I have at least 20 different Evita cast cds, I've seen it in theatres at least 4 times and I saw the movie 9 times in cinemas and 4 on the same first day), however Don't cry is not the best Madonna interpretation in the musical. You can feel it was the first to be recorded. The worst song is "Rainbow high": she doesn't have enough power in her voice, although M can be very mean and powerful (see A new Argentina); she does a better job with Buenos Aires and Another suitcase, and You must love me of course. But that said Argentina is a classic and the remix is one of her best. Addicted... I still don't know why it wasn't included properly in the album, this countdown proves that fans find it a lot better than other tracks, Best night for instance (whose only merit is the fantastic line "You can call me M tonight"). However, I would have left the name "The one that got a way": I once read she wanted to avoid confusion with Katy Perry, but then there's a risk of confusion with her own MDNA track. It's a strange coincidence that on the same days Adam Lambert released Ghosttown. Easy ride is one of my favourite. I find it really inspiring. I really take the lyrics as an encouragement, they mean a lot to me. Mirwais' ending is a little bit distressing with all those stops and holes in the sound, but it is very strong and original. The final top 10?? Oh God, I don't think I'm ready!! I really hope Drowned World is in the last 3, but I don't have much hope... Some of my all time favourite are still in, as Don't tell me and Jump and You'll see . And, why not?, Living for love!! I am very happy for Nothing fails and Rescue me, too, although I think they may not make it to the top 20... If I had to select a winner I'd choose Like a prayer... I was so into Madonna at the time, and I like M as a mature artist rather than a dance artist... this song is really her legacy. Nothing wrong with Hung up, but there is no competition for me. The top 3 may include Express yourself and Vogue?
  19. Well then... BUON COMPLEANNO! I suppose the soundtrack was American Life
  20. MASTERPIECE IS STILL IN!Best night is included in the list by mistake, but we can forgive @@groovyguy because we all love his posts and his recaps and because I understand he is on tour at the moment... ;)
  21. I'm not a special fan of LAV, but it's really surprising it didn't make it in the top 20. As I said before, probably some votes were influenced by how tired some fans are of listening to certain songs. My playlist includes Gambler and Supernatural rather than Holiday, but I understand some songs are milestones in Madonna’s catalogue. LAV is more than Dress you up.I won't say anything more about NKM, it is already a knife in @@Dazedmadonna's heart...Some songs in this round are excellent, Swim perfectly defines the spirit of ROL, with its electronic sound mixed with profound lyrics. Maybe it should have stayed in the top 50 instead of Sky fits heaven. But if you take a look at what remains, it is very difficult to arrive in the final 50!Miles away is very good, probably the only fault is the repetitive chorus. It deserved a proper video maybe also using some of the beautiful backdrop ideas. Across the sky is a bit repetitive too, but it had to be included in HC, far better than Spanish Lesson for instance.I would also like to spend a word of praise for MDNA. I'm not a "dancing person", I never go to clubs, but I never got tired of this album. Everytime a M album is released, I listen to it incessantly until I get tired of it and I need another one to be released. When RH came out, I was still listening to MDNA and never got bored. Girl gone wild has that mix of sex and religion that is M's signature, and its chorus stays in your mind immediately, Turn up the radio gives me a sense of freedom and came out in a moment when I really needed to escape, I'm a sinner has a killer bridge with the list of saints (especially in the live variation), Masterpiece... is a Golden Globe masterpiece. Falling free is a little too much the same melody, but M voice is incredible and I would have loved to see it performed live. Gang Bang is pure theatre, it's incredible what they did to the original Mika song which was good too. MDNA was also accompanied by a tour that was better than Hard Candy's S&S, so even if it's not my favourite album and I hate the idea of making essential/extended versions adding tracks in a second cd with no specific order (a formula unfortunately repeated in RH) I think there is still something to save out of it.
  22. Who was the Unapologetic Bitch yesterday? I still can't find videos... BTW, you can also watch great videos from Steve Vitalidol channel:
