Re-Invention World Tour was filmed in its entirety in Paris, as far as I’m concerned. It was filmed by Jonas Åkerlund and parts of it were interspersed in I’m Going To Tell You A Secret. A DVD release was actually scheduled but eventually cancelled.

And honestly there are so many rumours about Blond Ambition filming its become a conspiracy at this point. I read an interview with someone working on the tour who said David Fincher shot the Japan shows in their entirety, Paris was also filmed and I personally believe the footage still exists because Madonna herself said she would release Blond Ambition when she found the film reels, which makes me think she also knows it’s still there. But it’s all speculation.

I think Lisbon was the one to be used in the RIT DVD. There was this legal battle later that prevented it from being released. It never will be released and neither will bat, it would have happened by now then.

I think the Lisbon dates will be safe from cancellations because I have a strong feeling she will want to have the shows professionally filmed for the concert film. I’d love it if we got a nice simple recording with backstage footage interspersed.

She would have to film multible angles/nights

Merry Christmas and may you find Peace within! :)

Same to you, oh wait I already said happy holidays to you didn't I? Obsessive people tend to forget details when talking to rude people. Anyway, thank you for your very sincere advice.

Yes. The way tickets were sold by a lottery system was a disaster, ticket prices rise and decrease sharply and randomly, shows are cancelled or rescheduled quite often, Madonna appearing quite late without any regards to fans and their timings.

It seems like she overestimated her ability to carry on shows on such a tight schedule and they overestimated the show’s ability to sell out that fast that they added so many days in like 7 cities and none of which is remotely close to selling out. This could’ve easily been an epic stadium or arena tour that had one or two dates per city according to demands and at least given a show that lives up to the quality of her past shows. I’d trade this “intimate experience” for better production value and a well planned schedule, in a heartbeat.

Hope she doesnt do this theater tour thing again.

I don't know the size, but I really hope it will be filmed at Grand Rex Theatre, if it will be filmed.

    It looks so beautiful.

I think that the set used as a backdrop in the part of the theater where the audience sits  fits perfectly with the scenography of the Madame X show.

Looks like the perfect place to film

    Try again.

The specs for the BAM stage are 37.3' deep by 49-75' wide, depending on how it's set up.

The specs for the Chicago stage are 30' deep and 60' wide.

So the specs are essentially the same.  NO drastic differences and, I would assume, most theaters have the same specs because, let's face it, there are TONS of traveling shows that need to have a typical dimension.  It's in the best interest of theaters to all have similar sizes because it makes it easier for shows to load in and load out.

So, no.  Try another excuse because this one doesn't hold water.

Do you know the size of the lisbon venue and paris venue? I am just wondering were she will most likely film the show

And at the end of day, what is done is done.  Madonna is hardly an act that is known for canceling her shows, especially if you compare her to other artists.  It's unfortunate for those who travel and have additional expenses.  Though, everyone knows that buying tickets so far in advance, issues can arise either by the artist or the ticket holder.  I hardly believe she sat down purposely and thought; "let's see how many fans I can piss off, by cancelling/rescheduling some dates".  I'm betting it was out of her hands as well.  I'm sure she's not very happy about it either. It's easy for fans to conclude that her team should have better planned, but we really don't know the issue here, and sometimes things don't pan out even when carefully  "planned". I agree that probably it's all a timing issue of when the set is able to be set up  Just because she might have 4 days between the next city, doesn't mean she has the theater secured those days beforehand.  The theater has other acts scheduled.  And it's not like she's cancelling these shows all together. She's also offering refunds to those who can't make the new date added.  Both of these cancellations came several weeks in advance, so it's not like travel and lodging plans can't  be changed.  I realize some still will lose out, but I don't believe for one second Madonna set out to disappoint.

No of course she didn't. I don't think anyone thinks so. It is more a failure in pre-planning or something we don't know but it is what it is. On we go.

I mean... keep going on about things you have no actual idea about, but like I said, the actual set pieces like the stairs move around a LOT in various ways and not manually.  I don't know if it's the actual reason for the delay, but the set isn't as simplistic as people keep trying to make it out to be.

One thought, and I am being serious, is it possible that the delay is really due to changes in technology, I mean she did say in the first concert that it wasnt finished? Just a thought

The October 15th date of the Madame X Tour at the Chicago Theater has been rescheduled on ther 28th, becoming the last date in the 7 show run in the city. No changes to the rest of the dates have been made.

    Also San Francisco delayed?

I know I will get replies like "we are expressing our opinions" etc but dear LORD this is a depressing thread. It's the only place where I am seeing soooo much negativity re the tour. Can we not just lighten the mood even just a little? The lateness talk is soooo repetitive and it's been going on for centuries. She's NOT going to change so either accept it or...just carry on.

We are expressing our opinions.... Kidding ??

Don't get me wrong, I adore her, not just love her. But it breaks my heart seeing her become like this. From what I've been hearing, everything seems quote low-budget and messy or flat out unfinished and cheap, which is very sad since Madonna was always an artist who sold out stadiums and arenas from 25,000-80,000 people and the concerts being the best party ever and now you've got this messy state that is neither a properly well-made theater show nor a high-budget stadium/arena world tour. It's some awkward place that doesn't excel at either and she sounds like she's not really into the whole thing and I don't know how she's gonna finish 92 shows like this.

They did also mention that she said she wasn't making a dime from this tour, so I thought maybe that's the reason? I don't know. Like they said she said that on the first or second shows and that this tour was just her fulfilling a contract, which makes me wonder what's next and whom will she sign with after this and how much budget will she get for future works, because this could be the end of seeing Madonna in proper production, especially with how the album wasn't selling very much despite every promo effort.

Isnt this tour part of her LN contract? If so she will make alot of money. How can she state she isnt making a dime of this tour?

I don't know what the hell her management is thinking. Are they blind or is she too stubborn to listen? because she's literally killing her career and shitting on whatever good memory is left of it. First of all, the show itself is mediocre, her outfits are a terribly low effort compared to whatever she's done before, the setlist is a mess and this is coming from someone whose happy that she's singing more Madame X songs, but she raised all the wrong expectations through Instagram, that this is some sort of a hardcore fan intimate gig where she sings forgotten gems..etc., the songs barely fit with each other and so many moments of awkwardness out there, and this is further confirmed by other members posts about it here on this forum.

All that aside, her lateness is becoming too much, and stans continue to insist on moronic statements like "well don't go" or "you should know by know that she's always late" or "if you can't stand her attitude, leave" or "she doesn't owe you" or "you're entitled" and other crap like that. Well no shit, no one said she "owes" anyone, but at least put on a show like a normal person. Treat your paying audience with basic human decency to continue to have a career. Being rich and famous is no excuse because there are many younger and older and similar-aged artists and figures like her who are way more respectful and grateful to the people who got them where they are or at least those speaking to them or paid to see their shows. Before going to complain on Instagram about people sneaking phones against the rules, you obey your own show's rules by appearing on time. In addition to that, the polaroid moment which stans say "well it's for charity" well yeah fuck charity if it means shutting people down like that. Besides, there's zero proof beside her word once that it's for charity. And I don't care anyway, because people are there for a polaroid that looks like all the other polaroids and doesn't even feature the paying fan or her autograph, for anywhere from $1500 to $5000, and on top of that, she goes on to disrespect low bidders..etc. The way she treated that Canadian girl as the other user described is repulsive.

She's earned all this backlash against her because she's no different than any artist or reporter or comedian who gets called out for saying a hateful word or disrespecting an audience member or a group.

And the terrible jokes, the bad singing, the high school worthy props and costumes. Setlist and arrangements are uninspiring and boring. Even Medellín seems like funeral hymn. I truly believe she is NOT into this intimate interaction with fans, she is just faking it to be able to travel less and collect ALOT more money by doing theaters. Im sure she can't stand talking to her fans. She is not really the "intimate" type.

Honestly, I feel like she's had it coming. You can't go on with your tantrums on Instagram and live in front of a paying audience, being rude to low bidders like the photo is made out of gold or diamonds or something, and continue with bitchy remarks without people talking back. People have dignity too, and you may say "well don't go", well yeah, we can refuse to go but when people pay for a ticket to see a concert, disrespect shouldn't really come with the package, there's basic human decency and people would've reacted negatively to a comedian they don't even watch if he/she made some rude remarks, so Madonna is no exception.

The Polaroid part is very humiliating to her image and to fans, especially  the way she handles it and it's quite hypocritical from someone who sang "Killers Who Are Partying" where she pretends to feel for the poor and every group of human beings, when in reality, she acts like she's above them.

I'm very glad people called her out, because it's about time she realizes that she's still on Earth like all of us and not above other human beings and these people deserve just as much respect as blind stans claim that she does.

Those blind stans still keep on surprising me. She's completely not into doing this theater thing. The way she mistreats her fans, talking shit to them. She's giving zero fucks to anything she has ever done. It seems she has no respect for her career and what she has achieved for all these years.

i think she loved the intimacy with fans who genuinely are big fans of her and i think thats why the ticket prices are so high so she is just sharing a theatre with her biggest fans not some casual fan who is a fan of vogue lol but it seems some have managed to get in for eg the ones who are leaving after a few songs etc etc or shouting " you suck " but yeah i was unsure of the heckling when she first announced it etc ...i think once shes out of the usa and touring europe things will get better for her

I suspect more the opposite in Europe. They are more likely to be blunt.

  15. I have a feeling that after 90 plus of these shows she will be very tired of the intimate thing. She wanted to do something different and good for her but I think she will progressivly get pissed off with people shouting or speaking loadly and leaving early, it is much worsh in such s small venue than an arena. And when people are shouting "you suck" in a theater, it is annoying. Deep down I dont think she is the "loving the intimacy with fans" type of person. I do think its great she is doing something different but she is much more of an arena artist.

At this rate, why doesn't she use all footage available, slap a few quick cuts/Instagram filters and cleaned up vocals and release it.

Cleaning up the vocals is easier said then done on such an old recording. Also everyone has the inhouse Nice leak so not much point in releasing it on DVD. It was filmed on video not film and no way to remaster it to HD... So. I have no idea about the Japan show as that show was NOT part of pioneers laser disc only contract, it was even released on VHS. It was taped in very good quality but I have no idea why a DVD was never released.
