I’ve never understood why this picture was used as the first look of the tour or why people liked it! It’s so obviously edited in the face, it’s all smooth and blurry and out of proportion and doesn’t really look like her to me... But there were plenty of other stunning photos Ricardo took.

She’s looking fun here and facially looking a bit more like herself which is nice to see. But her butt makes me so sad. I just can’t see how she thinks it looks good, when the camera pulls out briefly when she’s dancing. It looks so unnatural, and it must be damaging for her body carrying that weight around.

I just want to hear her genuine proper voice again, her natural register, doing some more downtempo songs. Because the odd time we hear it she still sounds great.

This is so well said. I think it’s very naive to just assume this film will be a smash like rocketman and bohemian rhapsody. The general public doesn’t like her right now. They’re gonna have to put some work in to reinvent her again as not some eccentric, out of touch, pop star of years gone by like people think she’s become due to recent appearances. I guess it’s down to her whether she can let that happen, let her guard down a bit and be more personable. And the thing is she could! We all know how funny and infectious and poignant she can be. I just hope she’s not too stubborn to let the world see that side of her again.

I think this would honestly have the single biggest impact on her public image and how we all feel about her. As weird as it sounds to say as a fan of an artist, I want to see LESS of her! You’ve got stars out there like Adele and Beyoncé who post something on social media and it’s treated as important because it doesn’t happen often; we don’t often get to peak behind the curtain, so when we get a glimpse it’s special. And when creative projects arrive and get announced it’s exciting! She is literally the queen of pop and should no doubt have this respected and untouchable presence about her, like she did earlier in her career, but it’s different when she’s showing her and her whole family’s life daily like she’s a Kardashian. There’s no mystery any more. I wish she had a proper digital marketing team handling all of her social channels putting some work into her public image, going through the archives and creating some nostalgic love for her, every now and then creating some actual content with her - Q&As, interviews etc, not just Ricardo filming her parties and witchcraft... I feel like the social era of showing everyone what you’re doing all the time is over, it’s about curation and quality over quantity now. Sorry bit of a ramble...

Yeah super pale. And yes! I have wondered that before whether what keeps throwing me off is her lack of eye make up. We’re so used to seeing her with lashes and liner and eyeshadow etc, they’re obviously going to look smaller without all that. That’s what I’m trying to tell myself anyway, rather than believing she’s just disfiguring her beautiful face... I know it’s her face and her choice, but there are plenty of women her age or older that look absolutely stunning with just a minimal bit of work done, I wish someone would properly talk to her and make her realise she doesn’t need to go these extremes, that we’d all love her regardless.

That new post of her and Malik makes me so sad, her face looks the strangest yet. I’m really hoping it’s just an unflattering one and not how she really looks. Her eyes are disappearing and her cheekbones are getting wider and wider. I’m so worried she’s going to end up looking unrecognisable like Pete Burns and be a laughing stock when she next comes back in the public eye. Sorry for being negative, just had to get it out.

What an odd thing to release. Apart from the tour recording the MX era has been long dead... The most offensive thing is the bottle though! So basic, and just that brand’s standard bottle with a MX logo slapped on. I wouldn’t be against a MX perfume if it felt creative, a cool X shaped bottle etc. Weird.

Hooooly crap this is stunning. Such a good job. Makes me sad though! Wish we would get stuff like this. Every time I see ABBA’s repackaged/expanded/deluxe album reissues it makes me think of all the brilliant M things we could have if her people would put some effort in!

Yeah I agree this is how my brain expects her to look! And those photos of her with the fan (resting bitch face) were only from a few days ago and she looked bizarre and not herself there. So I’m pretty sure whenever we see her looking odd like that it’s because of Ricardo’s bad editing... Because these new photos she looks like herself again, not all stretched and distorted.

Found this edit of the Levitating video on twitter using the Crave video to include Madonna, works pretty well! Wonder if we’ll ever find out what happened with the video, the plan obviously must have been to include her.

I’ve thought this a few times recently (like with the photo with her boobs out etc) but seeing these yesterday posted at the same time she posted the video (singing levitating) I think what’s mostly to blame is Ricardo’s photo editing. Because in the video she looks normal and like herself, but these photos taken at the exact same time she looks warped and bizarre and not herself. So it’s pretty clear to me now that he just goes too far editing his photos of her and that’s what looks weird. Which is pretty annoying because then everyone just thinks she’s had more and more work done and ruined her face when she hasn’t. I wish he’d just tone it down a bit, she looks absolutely fine in the videos with no retouching!

So so disappointed she’s not anywhere win the video, what a wasted opportunity to be showcased to millions of younger audiences. And I really just wanted to see her having fun and serving a look Makes it sting the fact that Missy is in it, wouldn’t have been so bad if neither of them were.

Oh my god. I was so sure the rumours of a Dua collab were all BS. And with missy too, this is genuinely insane! She’ll actually get played on Radio 1 in the UK ahaha.

Her body looks incredible, I just worry her face doesn’t look much like her face there... hopefully it’s just the photo/editing. But her eyes look really different.

I’m actually really proud of her for doing this and literally walking the walk when it comes to her talking about equality. Even on crutches, out with the public, she didn’t have to be doing that but she did because she genuinely cares, and I really respect that. I only wish she had a mask on. Even if she thinks she’s had it and is now immune (which there’s no proof of it working like that) I’d still rather she didn’t risk it. I just want her to be safe. London has actually been quite far ahead of the rest of the country in terms of infections and the rates have dropped really low as of a couple of weeks ago, we had a bit of a head start with it here. But even still, with all these hundreds of people gathering I’d rather she was extra cautious.

Makes me quite sad she would put herself (and others) at risk like this ? And knowing full well it’s being documented and people will find out and further perpetuate the notion tabloids are running with of her being so out of touch with reality. Mostly I just want her to stay safe. Just because she says she has antibodies doesn’t mean she’s suddenly immune to it. There’s a lot we still don’t know about it.

The amount of people that comment disgusting conspiracy theory things on her posts and wish death upon her is terrifying, what is wrong with these people?! I know she always gets trump idiots bashing her but this seems even more so. Seems to be tonnes of anti-Gates comments, about him trying to depopulate the world and using vaccines to kill us all But some of the people saying these things even seem to be people who are M fans (if you go on their profile, they have posts about her etc) but they comment saying like ‘that’s it after 30 years I can no longer support you’. Are people really this idiotic?! So troubling.

So last night was my second and final Madame X show (first one was a couple of weeks ago, a shorter show) and I have to say, apologies to anyone who has only seen the shorter show, but the full thing with the first section last night blew me away. Even though I think Vogue does work well as an opener, the reveal of her standing there behind the American flag during God Control was just insane and gave me shivers. Dark Ballet and Human Nature were brilliant too, and the on stage outfit change section is a better ‘first chat’ with M in my opinion in comparison to the Polaroid segment being the first time you properly hear from her. This time I was row B in the stalls as well compared to halfway back in the stalls previously, I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes at times. Especially during God Control, Crazy, Medellin, the fado song... there were moments she was literally 2 metres in front of me. It was so surreal, almost like an outer-body experience! Also generally I think her energy and spirit was on another level compared to two weeks ago. Maybe it was just it being the first of two shows as opposed to the second, or maybe her physio etc is working well now, but she had such vitality in her movements compared to before. In God Control when she stomps up those steps for ’a new democracy!’ she was really going for it, her injuries were almost unnoticeable at times. She was also just generally quite smiley and laughing a lot with the dancers etc. One funny moment I can remember was just after the typewriter intro before Medellin, she got up as Medellin was about to start and the chair fell backwards off the little platform and onto the floor. She looked down at it then back at the audience and shrugged But yeah she was on spectacular form last night. And seemed genuinely happy and grateful to be there. During the fado club section when she’s sat in the piano about to do the ‘one two cha cha cha’ slide off the piano, she was about to do it then got the band to pause while she ’cheers’ed to London and it being the second to last show and how there’s nowhere else she’d rather be etc. Was a cute moment. Sorry for the long post!

Wow, sounds like a show to remember! Jealous of the DCFMA moment would love to hear her singing that. Can’t she permanently replace the beer bitch section with it

Forgot to mention in my post about Sunday’s show - she mentioned the fact that it was Super Bowl Sunday a few times, like when drinking the beer etc and talking about American culture. And one of the times she said along the lines of ‘who saw my Super Bowl show?’ and obviously everyone cheered, and then she was like ‘mine was still the best one right?’ and everyone cheered even louder. Was a nice moment

Yeah I totally get you. There was a couple in the row in front of me in the stalls who were so drunk and loud and annoying. I just kept thinking, you must have paid so much for these tickets are you’re not even paying attention! People getting up to use the toilet too. Wish everyone would just sit down and concentrate

Was really hoping the beginning wouldn’t get cut last night, but alas it did. However I still really enjoyed it, my first Madame X show. I’ve got tickets to one more show, which is the first of a two consecutive show run this time (rather than the second) so if she is alternating hopefully I’ll get the full show next time. Saying that, I still absolutely loved the show. She was genuinely funny and seemed in good spirits and didn’t seem too badly affected by the injuries (apart from having dancers in hand to assist her up and down stairs - why such a large percentage of the songs still have stairs built into the choreography is beyond me!! They’re really not needed for the most part). As many people have said, Frozen is spectacular. Her vocals really shine though, as they did in the Fado song and Like A Prayer also. Hopefully I’ll get to see God Control and Dark Ballet next time. Towards the end of the show in one of her chats about James Baldwin she actually said along the lines of “as I quote... well, sometimes quote... at the beginning of my show” and looked kind of awkward/embarrassed in a funny way. She’s definitely aware of the situation, it must be for a reason that it’s getting cut for some shows.
