Live to tell it´s supreme, but for me, I really have to be in the mood in order to enjoy it at its fullest dimention. Oh, I also love The look of love a lot.

For me Madonna always excells at ballads, and she is a masterful performer of them, a thing she tends to be underated at. Live to tell is special, of course, but Drowned world has a special place in my heart, as I became hooked with it all time on the radios summer 1998. For me it´s like a meditation, more than a big ballad, and what an opener for her Magnus Opus, ROL. The video is masterful too, and each time she did it live, amazing too. I think it´s a favourite of hers. The demo is lovely, but William Orbit really took it there, a good choice as a producer, without a doubt. Said, Frozen, Power of goodbye, Mer girl or To have and not hold are gems in my heart, not less loved by me. But, after ROL ballads, and even prior with You´ll see or I´ll remember, there´s falling free, forbiden love, Ghostown, easy ride, Miles away, Devil wouldn´t recgonise you, or another special in my heart, Gone, that she did live and it´s one of my top ten favourite Madonna tour performances. So many golden moments, I hope she recovers that style on the next tour, even though we know she is the queen of dancing and big shows.

There was that 1995 interview speaking about ST2, it was a written interview, and it was amazing: she had literally no filter, commenting on Courtney Love, having been raped when she was young, on Mariah and Whitney, being cruxified like Jesus Christ...

I like the fact the she was dared though all the interview LOL she gets better when she has to face criticism and explain things and contradictions. It´s boring when they are playing easy and lovely. I feel she was much more interesting, deep and thoughtful than all the things she says from Madame x till the start of this year.

The marilia one from 1998, with that brazilian journalist: she was super bad mannered but it was fun seeing Madonna answering with faces and trying to make sense and answer with dignitiy lol I love every minute of it.

I agree so much with this post. Sadly for me the Madame x era till last years was full of things like that. Till Rebel heart everything was been done amazingly beautiful, succesful or not. But, on a shiner note, I think she is been trying to recover that magic for that forthcoming tour, the perfeccionist is returning with her face of always. I feel it.

The concept was all wrong too for the Eurovision theme, people were expecting a superbowl kind of thing from her and she came singing badly and doing strange songs and cryptical and dark things. The conclusion: she didn´t changed the world but everybody was what the fuck? And how does she sounds like that being the best selling female ever?

I love her but that performance hurt her reputation a lot.
