Last night I had a private party seeing one more time the MDNA tour dvd and wow, what a performer. I can´t believe at that age she managed to be the centre of such a complex and physical performance, not so long ago she still was on fire as a live performer, and I had the luck to be there with her on Barcelona!! I want to rewatch Confessions tour and many more when I have time. The thing is that she has changed so much since that, not just physically, but even artistically. It´s like now there´s that empty place cause she is not there and nobody else is either. Can she return to be a little like the person she was till 2016? I hope so, cause she was one of a kind. I did not liked Madame x as a record or an era, but even back in 2019, she still had many feautures on her videos and live performances that remind me of that old M. These two last years are the really strange ones. C´mon Madonna: I know you´re still there somewhere, we need your light.

The thing is: Frozen was such a Masterpiece, lirically, vocally, musically, the recording, the video, the album, the era, the momentum, such a peak and epic moment for her. And many of us, lived it and still remember it, so anything new is going to be like a zero next to that legendary moment. It´s a pity but oh, the old good times never will return. I don´t care for this remix, but really, so much work put on it, so much time and now we have this? I´ll wait to see the video, but, well, the music industry is really worse than before, in all the sides of it, no matter how you look at it.

Two questions: Had Madonna started her evita voice coaching prior to recording the 1995 ballads that were new for Something to remember? She really sounds fuller and richer and spectacular, specially on You´ll see. One more question: When was the time she had her first voice lesson?

One of the problems is that she is not collaborating with enough good musicians: ROL. LAP, True blue, all of them done with great musicians: I was listening LAP, great melodies and orchestral arrangements, where are they? Now it´s all urban and cheaper. And autotuned.

I don´t think so, but she has definetely lost her touch with the general audience and does not know how to reconnect again, with all the major changes, the industry herself...and I think she has been a bit depressed. I mean, her position was being the coolest and the queen, and now she is not with the new works, at least. As she has been depressed, I think she shows that rebellious side all the time showing, hidding her insecurities. And as she has been depressed (she admited it on as interview on 2019), you can see she has not the drive to train like crazy, doing vocal exercises, trying to sing her best, etc...she is like: accept it, like or not this is who i am state of mind, whereas before she was a pro who worked as a maniac. I don´t think this Madonna can return easily. It is true it´s been 3 years since the last record and she is working on old remixes, but we don´t know if she is recording demos of great new songs she has hidden in her pocket. We´ll see.

I remember her in 2012 fighting against this beast on her russian concerts, major balls. Now this is a Madonna I deeply admire above it all.

I don´t see a tour a la MDNA tour happening again, not only she has lost a lot of her appeal as a pop star to the general audience, she is far from that pop star she once was, who danced amazingly, with an amazing physic, unlimited stamin, a pro who did care for every aspect of the show...All the work she would have to do ir order to do something that could do justice to her iconic carreer, I don´t think she wants to do it: training again, working on her voice, having a concept, doing promo: I don´t think she is going to do it, and face the fact it´s is harder and harder for her. She is super rich and will prefer doing vulgar instagram pictures showing a nipple or her ass and anoouncing soon the release of some product, as we know. Of Course, she could do an acoustic intimate tour singing songs with a band and it would be a sold out. But, is she going to take care of her voice, do it seriously, working on a concept with forgotten gems or anything like that? I bet the answer is no. If she did, would it be a Madonna concert as the original poster mentioned? I think no.

One question about that era: those like a prayer vocals from the superbowl performance were from 2012? I mean, she sounds amazing on this, but I don´t think the studio vocals were those original from the 89 record. They are more polished and mature but still fresh and shiny. I do love if she had sung more like this one recent recordings if she still can. I think the music vocals were the 2000 original ones.

Yes but at the same time she was releasing iconic music, record breaking tours, redefining fashio, women position, the way of doing concerts for a pop star, changing pop culture, performing like a goddess and selling millions of records. I would not mind her nasty pictures of instagram had she continued this level of hard work and great art.

She was not like this in the true blue era or even erotica, I can tell you.

Yes on the one hand. On the other, I remember when I started liking her and being interested, it seemed like she was super private and everything she was cooking was super secret and exciting and magical, that is after ROL. And to me she was super classy. With each new release, I felt everything was carefully planned, she looked amazing, the live performances were carefully done, rehearsed and you saw she was into them, vocally, physically..oh the good old times. Now, to tell you the truth, I don´t care if she records new music or makes a movie or whatever, I feel I won´t like the product anyway as much as I liked them in the past. So, it´s waiting till death but waiting for products that are not so good as in the past. A tik tok remix of Frozen that takes months to be completed when she released such iconic, brave, innovative and influecial records in the past? And it´s not ageism, cause I do believe totally she could be very good again if she had it as a goal. I think she has been amazing almost till Madame x, although not all her eras have been so classy and beautiful. But it´s lately that to me she has lost the magical aura she had, and the feautures I associaded with her persona are not there anymore: truly well thoughts remarks, high stamina like noone else, well done and well focused planning, a super trained physic, and very well trained voice, intelligent messages, great music, awesome videos. I really thing she has been very depressed at some point and stopped the fighting, a thing I can understad totally, but it feels like the Madonna I loved it´s not there anymore. I only hope at least she is happy privately..anyway her legacy will always be in my heart for the rest of my life.

I liked her number but I agree, between the lypsinching and the correctness it was quite stiff and not visceral and real, as her Express Yourself live 89 at the MTV was, that is pure Madonna, for example. But you can´t say it was not a highlight for her.

She would not have the carreer she has had, without him. The thing is he has always give her strong and catchy melodies where she could add amazing lyrics and sing with emotion so they created masterpieces. One of the problems of Rebel Heart, Madame x and even Confessions or Hard Candy is the lack of intense melodies where she can express her humanity, so she sometimes sings like a robot with uptempo music that does not sound emotional and do not reach audience´s heart, as it happened with Frozen, LAP, La isla bonita, Live to tell and many others.

Yeah, Play me a thousand times Bitch I´m a loca or Medellin before The power of goodbye or Substitute for love, LOL.

. Do you think that by Hollywood, second single, they wanted to rescue the album doing a quite neutral videoclip with M looking glamorous and returning to blonde? Interesting. Anyway, I lived intesely the American life era and it is one of my favourites ever, but, decades past, I really don´t understand the message behind the video american life: the war theme, the american dream, the material and the fashion world, the fame obsesion, all mixed? It´s not a little sort of an extravangza? What´s the connection between Madonna adressing her past ambition to be rich and famous mixed with the children of Irak? Sometimes I think the criticism was not well done at all and that was really the problem. And that it did not worked out fine cause it was not credible to start with, as Madonna was the face of overthetop stuff, fashionism, obsession with the body and yes, materialism, and still is, when this album is all forgoten.

I was never crazy about Erotica as an album, but for many fans it seems it´s one of her best. Not for me. The confessions era was amazing, but the album was not that masterpiece on the league of ROL or other albums of hers. The interscope albums and Hard Candy were not as bad as many fans are always trying to say.

Agreeing Best Friend for example is very good. It´s just Birthday song is freaky and bad, but it´s in in the extra edition, does not count the same. I like Rebel Heart, even If I don´t love it, but I agree: too messy, too many songs, some are good, somo not so good, as a whole it´s not a masterpiece. For MDNA it´s much better crafted as a whole thing.

One last thing, probably very controversial: I like Superstar in all its glory full of corniness. It´s the same Madonna of True Blue, Dear Jessie, Spanish lesson and many more, and I prefer it a thousan times better than all this artists are here to disturb the peace stuff she is so so doing lately.

One more thing to say about: MDNA had rave reviews when it came. So for those who trash the whole thing, ok, but it´s your opinion or your taste of your view. Oh, and what´s more: I disagree she was not involved and she recorded external demos very little related to If it was the case, she then changed then in order to fit the living moment at the time, as it features very personal songs that tell you the whole trip Madonna had been since her divorce. In fact, to me it is one of her most personal albums ever, and it feautures a journey and an emotional arc, with the start, the middle, and the end: making peace with the guy, in her mind. Give me MDNA any time before Erotica. Her soprano voice is at its most beautiful on Falling free.

I don´t know, never liked Lady Gaga to tell the truth...I could speak about thousand artists I would play before lady gaga, and it has nothing to do with the Madonna feud. Madonna is so above this, and she sould have know it better..

Am I the only one that does not think Born this way it´s very like Express Yourself? I mean, for me they are very alike. I always wondered about that subject. I think Madonna was wrong about this, like she was fearing she was losing her place and spoke badly and in public about another artist, I think I don´t think she usually does, as she has always been quite classy about this kind of things, if you ask me.

Give me Madonna any day over Celine Dion, but one must recognise she is very good at what she does: easy listening and pop music with powerful vocals and great live performances and she takes care of her instrument and her shows, showing her respect for her audiences, and never speaks a bad word about anyone, including Madonna, who she respects highly, as she has expressed many times. I think the good thing is having different styles of artists and not everbybody doing and singing the same things, or acting the same. Madonna is, was, like no other, but she could be better than she is currently if she would care more about it.

My prefered Madonna music would be ROL, You´ll see, Like a prayer, those acoustic mirwais songs on American Life, some great disco songs as Dress you up or Into the groove...none of those songs feautured a rapper ever. Said that, I love that colaboration in I´d rather be your lover, I think it´s with a woman, but it´s very very sexy...
