I didn’t read that much into it at the time. It was the 20th Anniversary of the Like a Virgin MTV performance and so they came up with an idea of Bride and Groom and it got people talking. Madonna had been accused of doing things to get attention long before she had a low-selling album.

Anything to put Madonna down, but lift other artists up, right? 😉 Why is this so common around here? On a MADONNA fan forum, of all places. That’s attention desperation.

But he wasn’t accurate. Madonna was playing the groom and the Disney Kids were Madonna’s brides. The Bride and Groom kiss. I like how people try to make it about more than that, though.
