Kylies New Greatest Hits has been a stellar success....but she promoted it. Madonna ain’t really here for hits promo. I think a Greatest Hits Tour, a collection and some festival appearances would nail it for her. nothing has done as well as the Immaculate Collection because she hasn’t really put herself behind any collection without a grudge.

Hmmm I’m feeling a hashtag justice for Rescue Me moment after the first night of the tour coming on.

Yeah it’s pretty miserable.

We have footage of her reciting the lyrics to Rescue Me and the entire cast of batukaderas singing the gospel bits. It is not an interlude.

You can forget hits this time round. It's going to be 80% Madame X as she said even before the tour started and then the rest we'll get more like Tears Of A Clown. This is her deal closing tour with LiveNation. She's purposely left off the hits so she can secure a better deal with whoever signs her on the back of a a promise to do a Greatest Hits based tour. She's not stupid.

Ultimately her lack of chart relevance will only serve to make her even more creative. Madame X already shows some of that liberation.

Not a chance with something she does on her own. Her casual fan base is too old and have most likely disengaged from new music playing and buying. A Posthumous Whitney x Kygo thing could work or a new artist using one of her already famous hits as a hook could do it.

In truth I think the only missed singles are Physical Attraction Wheres The Party Spotlight (full release) Sooner Or Later Gone Time Stood Still Mother & Father Forbidden Love (05) Beat Goes On Love Spent Rebel Heart

oops The second Turn Up The Radio was Masterpiece in the original doc. Cheers. The Look Of Love was a top ten hit in the UK and sold about the same as Lucky Star. It was performed on the Who's That Girl Tour. It's generally brilliant and underrated too. It's also one of Pat Leonards favourite compositions. Had the film not flopped and the Poison Penn back lash started it would have done much better for her.

I still like the roman numerals that match her initials idea personally A 4 disc retrospective with each disc spanning er whole career chronologically and each with one new song M.L.V.C. Great way to balance her output. I'd personally leave Evita and some of the lesser singles off.

Guy O really took his eye off the ball for the whole of the last decade and has managed her output very, very poorly. Content is everything to a fanbase and some instagram vids of your kids playing soccer, some moisturiser, gyms, a clothing line and some retro record store day coloured vinyl releases ain't gonna cut it. They've been asleep at the wheel commercially. I have no doubt the album will be spectacular but there's no one to blame here but her own team.

No. That part is over for her. If teaming up with streaming giant Maluma doesn't get her a hit she's done. An Ari, Taylor, Beyonce, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone duet is her only hope. This wont dent the charts at all. Sad because it deserves to.

I think we'll defo get Die Another Day and Mother & Father. I actually think we'll get Who's That Girl because of the Madame X multiple characters theme. It's Spanish flavoured too. Most likely a new video interlude because she doesn't seem to like performing it. I think we'll likely get an American Life refrain ala Papa Don't Preach reinvention but not the whole song. Ray Of Light for definate this time Hung Up done in a Mirwais style Old songs I'd like to see Angel & Cherish done in the singalong section Like A Prayer is pretty obvious because of the 30th anniversary so maybe a couple of other Like A Prayer tracks. Maybe Keep It Together fado version with images of her kids..a new generation. Bitch I'm Madonna / Loco seems like an obvious mash up. Nothing else from Rebel Heart. GMAYL original version would be great. I bet it goes off live That's 11 songs plus the usual 8-9 from the new record. Plus a cover version and an interlude and we're probably there. Rescue Me would be amazing but it's never gonna happen. There'll probably be another Medley in there too but hopefully its better than the last shit one on Rebel Heart.

It’s about a 60 year old woman looking back on her life and youth and the direction she took and decisions she made. It’s super emotional and nostalgic. Plus her voice is syrup. Just go watch the you tube reaction videos. People are hyped ready to do thier drag queen YASSS routine and then she starts to sing and they just stop and get quite emotional. She sounds like an angel. This song has real heart. It’s honestly one of the most authentic Madonna songs I’ve heard in years. She’s somehow woven through every second of this even though Maluma is a large presence. Honestly I’m sure the song will eventually click for you. I wasn’t too sure at first either but when the preconceived notions of what she should be delivering disappear the beauty of the song just shines through. It’s a classic. Hung Up is amazing because it’s mixes that commercial sound with “giving the gays everything they want”, but this has sooo much more heart and feels like Madonna just being for a change rather than being the Madonna we expect her to. “Forgave myself for being me” is so damn powerful and one of the most beautiful things she’s ever said. The power that has etc..... I hope you come around to the song in the end mate. It’s a beautiful trip.

I’m a pretty unbiased superfan who calls the shit out when I see it. I can’t see how anyone thinks this is trash. It’s so much light hearted fun. Hopefully the slightly try hard at times Madonna of the last decade is behind us and she’s found her true rhythm again. This hits all the right notes for me. It sounds commercial and experimental at the same time. One thing is for sure. Madonna’s team need to sort her streaming presence out big time. Her entire back catalogue should be sprawled over every relevant playlist. She really needs to bring her older fan base to streaming platforms by making some content available only on Spotify. You have to play to the biggest market. She’s so behind the curve here. Target exclusive and physicals and all are great for collectors but streaming is king and will only increase in coming years until downloads and physicals make up a minuscule percentage of sales. So far this campaign seems designed more to help Malumas profile than Madonna’s. She’s .....nowhere to be seen anyway on Spotify. Hopefully this is remedied tomorrow.

A top ten U.K. / U.S. iTunes sales chart will not a hit make. We need those little Maluma fans to stream the song.
