Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones
topic replied to steady75's RUADJAI in Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones
I mean the cool thing is that when you have a new remix of a track like Hung Up and then you hear the Classic kick / clap beat of Into The Groove in the background starting to show itself in the mix it's still hairs on end because these are the vibe that make Madonnas music electric. The Horn Stabs in Vogue, The Cowbell In Express Yourself, The Congas In Causing A Commotion, The drum fills in Frozen, The syn bass and bell line in Open Your Heart. Some bits of a mix needs to be maintained to hark back to the original and bring those goosebump elements to life. I think this has been the problem with many of her recent reinventions on tour. The originals were often either completely duplicated to boredom (Holiday Rebel Heart) or completely eviscerated. Stuart knew what new to bring but preserved the magic and essence of what made you fall in love with original. Not everyone has that skill. If this collection turns into a muscle circuit gay tops off mindless looped affair you can miss me on that one for sure. -

It’s also not out of the realms of reality that there will be a 4 cd box set. 3 CD’s with edits of the historic mixes and a fourth disc of .120 minute DJ mix. This seems more realistic than 50 mixed tracks. -

Everybody , Dress You Up and Rescue Me will really be missed here. Three of her best dancefloor songs for me but hey. They don’t meet the brief. -

Yes like I said it could just be part of the process..but I do this procedure myself and you really need to get messy first and play with the tracks to see what works. You don’t just chose them and press go. Honey may well be there for this part of the journey though to hear or help make the selections with a DJ ear. It’s just … 50 tracks!!! That’s a bloody mamouth task. Be nice if it is a DJ segued mix …as long as there’s a confessions unmixed style version too. We’ll see I spose eh. @LUKESAVANTwould defo have some insights too. -

I don’t think it’s a megamix guys the tracks are not over laped. That would be a different set up workstation wise. there are clear gaps between tracks on the screenshot. Eg the silence between tracks. but who knows this may just be part of the process but I don’t see it for 50 tracks. -

I’d hope it’s not a case of over compression. I can’t place the plug in on the left but mastering can just be a case of amending EQ levels across different tracks and general volume levels to make a balanced sound across the selection of different remixes by different remixers across 4 decades. it doesn’t mean they’re all gonna lose dynamic range and get brick walled. It’s just a way of making it found a bit more of a cohesive listening experience rather than jumping around like some of the remix eps we’ve already had. it’s a good thing ….. hopefully. -

Ok so this is a screenshot of mikes computer. The way the tracks are arranged is looks very much to me like this is an eq mastering situation like I said earlier. I can’t see any over lap with the tracks and he’s using an Oxford EQ plug in which would add up. -

Mike is probably just remastering for consistency in volume levels tbh -
She wants you to just stream and raise her numbers little Madum Xers. Get your Spotify on peeps. Aint no Olivia Newton Johns up in here.

Honey have you seen the album charts recently? It is littered with straight up represses of historical releases. I think rethought collection of some widely unavailable tunes is a hell of lot more exciting than a Like A Virgin coloured vinyl or whatever Golden Oldie album is clogging up the charts. -

Actually the more I think about this I reckon it will be a Digital Only release. The M.O. in recent years seems to be to increase her streaming presence...and It's working. Do we really think there'd be much of a market for a physical CD of her greatest remixes? Maybe 15 years ago but she late as hell on this one, We'll see I suppose. I can see maybe a couple of super deluxe formats for fans. Forget a vinyl for 50 songs ladies. Maybe an expensive CD boxset but as for standard triple CD release of straight remixes...I think we probably have to let that one go. Has Madame X live even been released on physicals yet? As in Blu Ray and Cd? Also... for the record...The best Ray Of Light remix is Sasha Twilo Mix. The levels, the Journey, the scape. The Ultraviolet mix is essentially a loop from start to finish. Twilo wins...Hands down above and away.....and that's that on that. -

UNITED STATES OF MADONNA “Her 50 US billboard dance charts number 1’s” Would actually be B sweet if she released the God Control remixes and bagged a 51st. -

Though it’s clear she is listening through all the songs so maybe she is “personally curating” as per the Warner’s Statement. This is never good for fans . Look at GHV2. -

The single versions of You Can Dance remix album (Spotlight / where’s the party and Into The The Groove / Over & Over) were the promos sent out to Dj’s no? Spotlight being the leading song for that compilation and being released in territories would surely make it the most obvious choice for inclusion? Dunno. -

I know I’m just saying she has six children. Prince sadly didn’t have that pillar of duty to balance his thoughts and actions. I concur with a lot of what you said re his passing and as such is just doesn’t correlate to Madonna’s experience with a painful hip. I didn’t mean she was smarter than Prince I meant she’s smarter than letting herself develop a drug dependency at this stage in her career especially with 6 kids. Especially with the levels of substance abuse she has been surrounded with by her family and peers. Sorry for confusion. -

Me : Yay Spotlight on a Madonna bits compilation. also me: i want it remixed and segued but also want an unmixed version available :/ As I said elsewhere I think this will be done as a fun quirky mixtape a bit like Club Future Nostalgia. Some hits will probably just have a few lines and there may even be some cute famous spoken Madonna quotes. “I wanna rule the world” ”I am an artist and this is how I choose to express myself” ”artist are here to disturb the peace” ”do something else do my eyebrows” etc -

I don’t think she likes drugs or will fall to them. She has six kids she is not Prince. She’s smarter than all that’s been said. She knows what makes her look edgy and likely says it to “piss people off”. it’s dumb PR but most of it has been since Liz left tbh. but she’ll be fine. Also can we stop laying this at her boyfriends door. He’s a hard working ambitious dancer with a mind for art and politics, that worked to the top of his game, not some low life leacher. Sean allegedly beat her up and Guy supposedly ignored her and was mentally cruel. I don’t remember anyone being Happy with anyone she’s been with tbh. She’s the one who’s hard work we know this. I’d need weed to be in a relationship with her. -
Don’t forget the remixes of Hung Up Future Lovers we heard at that live club appearance she did with Honey Dijon etc. I imagine those were clues too.

Madonna's 50 Dance Club Songs No. 1s 1983, "Holiday"/"Lucky Star" (five weeks at No. 1) 1984, "Like a Virgin" (three) 1985, "Material Girl" 1985, "Angel"/"Into the Groove" 1987, "Open Your Heart" 1987, "Causing a Commotion (Remix)" 1988, "You Can Dance (LP Cuts)" 1989, "Like a Prayer" (two) 1989, "Express Yourself" (three) 1990, "Keep It Together" 1990, "Vogue" (two) 1991, "Justify My Love" (two) 1992, "Erotica" 1993, "Deeper and Deeper" 1993, "Fever" 1994, "Secret" (two) 1995, "Bedtime Story" 1997, "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" 1998, "Frozen" (two) 1998, "Ray of Light" (four) 1999, "Nothing Really Matters" (two) 1999, "Beautiful Stranger" (two) 2000, "American Pie" 2000, "Music" (five) 2001, "Don't Tell Me" 2001, "What It Feels Like for a Girl" 2001, "Impressive Instant" (two) 2002, "Die Another Day" (two) 2003, "American Life" 2003, "Hollywood" 2003, "Me Against the Music," Britney Spears featuring Madonna (two) 2004, "Nothing Fails" 2004, "Love Profusion" 2005, "Hung Up" (four) 2006, "Sorry" (two) 2006, "Get Together" 2006, "Jump" (two) 2008, "4 Minutes," Madonna featuring Justin Timberlake & Timbaland (two) 2008, "Give It 2 Me" 2009, "Celebration" 2012, "Give Me All Your Luvin'," Madonna featuring Nicki Minaj & M.I.A. 2012, "Girl Gone Wild" 2012, "Turn Up the Radio" 2015, "Living for Love" 2015, "Ghosttown" 2015, "B**** I'm Madonna," Madonna featuring Nicki Minaj 2019, "Medellín," Madonna & Maluma 2019, "I Rise" 2019, "Crave," Madonna & Swae Lee 2020, "I Don't Search I Find" it’s actually a bit of an odd list that’s really quite light on her more renowned 80’s stuff but love that there’s some odd ones on there. And there actually more than 50 songs if you count the double As and You Can Dance tracks. Like… It’d be cool to have Angel Causing A Commotion Spotlight Keep It Together Fever Nothing Really Matters American Pie Impressive Instant American Life Nothing Fails Love Profusion Nobody Knows Me Get Together Jump Give It 2 Me and the interscope singles on a Madonna compilation cause they wouldn’t stand a chance on a traditional two disc greatest hits and never have.

50 of them though? how? Thats like 3 cd’s worth of remixes. Do I believe that’s gonna happen? I don’t see it for us. Maybe a double CD but like a segued megamix like You Can Dance. A bit like the Dua Lipa / Blessed Madonna version of Future Nostalgia with some new features and stuff. Probably the new Swae version of Frozen too. Imagine if all this time she’s been secretly getting people to remix and feature on her old tracks as guests. Like all those Weeknd rumours from a while back? Who else has she been linked to in the last year or two? either way I’m here for it big time.

Keep It Together or bust this month. Make it happen mom. I need that single edit in my playlist.
