Well, we all know that the tour didn't change whatsoever show to show in the end. However, on opening night she clearly stated that the show was still very much work in progress and not done.
Does anyone have inside scoop on what was going on? Always felt the show came across as very...clunky.
It seems a lot likely contributed to an "unfinished" show:
- Production challenges with the venues, implying that there may have been additional staging elements removed and / or modified
- Her injury which clearly started during rehearsals
- Her ability to sing some of the songs (it was said on another forum that she couldn't do the talking part of Rescue Me on time)
As this was certainly a....unique....Madonna show, I'd kill to see what was the full concept on her end and whether or not the show actually manifested that. It seems both the Madame X Tour and Rebel Heart Tour went through similar challenges, and I've always felt like these two tours were the only "un-Madonna" feeling tours in her career.
Any scoop?
Madonna didn't really tweak much on her end... But the choreography and dancer selections changed quite a bit, mostly during the Batuka intro and Rescue Me interlude (which was 100% pre-recorded). The biggest factor that wasn't 100% thought through was that the projectors couldn't all be stationed at the same spots from theater to theater. Same thing with seating layouts.
From my understanding she very much wanted to utilize the holograph concept from the Grammys, but the only option to make it work live was to have her behind a screen the entire time, or during performances that utilized it. Theaters don't have hanging screens for viewing, and they didn't want the audience to not focus on the stage.
There was definitely some additional mixing and productions added down the road. From what I know the doc will actually show a good amount of pre-production footage.

Hey! Remember being petty af? Go ahead, stir the pot. I said I knew she was doing recording for narration...I have no clue outside of this. My comment was also referring to a Wonder Woman soundtrack title.

when you first listen the song you are not even sure it's her.
Right because she’s singing in a key that matches Dua. Her vocals aren’t engineered.

Her voice has been too much modified. It's cool to listen but to be honest I prefer the version without Madonna. The remix looks messy.
I don’t get where you think her voice has been modified. Madonna sings in very different tunes and techniques in every song. There’s little to no polish on her vocals.

I just wonder what will be left VIP Package wise once the public sale hits
These "travel packages" are ridiculous. They should have just had the option to add that as a bundle, not automatically included.

Yeah I was in the same boat. Still waiting for Chicago to come through or a public sale.

This again was when Caresse was her manager, and only managing Madonna...

Pass...I agree, Donna is amazing. Nikki...I can do without.

If the rumored 34 dates only itinerary is correct - it would make sense to be just stadiumsDidn't hear the one about stadiums, that would be the biggest change. From a North American perspective she's never really done that from The Girlie Show World Tour onwards, with the exception of a handful of shows during the Sticky & Sweet Tour and I think MDNA Tour had Mexico, Quebec City and Yankee Stadium.
-
Who knows. Been hearing she's focus on smaller venues, then I've heard this will be mainly stadiums. Strange there has been little to no rumors regarding US dates. If the rumour of Madonna opening the Quebecor Arena is true, then it opens the second week of September, and U2 is on tour until the second week of November. They also said that she was coming to Torino to the PalaAlpiTour for November 20 and 21.
-
It's going to start once Guy is done touring with U2 - going to be much smaller scale, comparable to Girlie Show.depends on how many shows she's doing in Europe and America. if she cuts down the number of shows say in Europe she might be able to take the show to Australia at least.if she's doing just as many shows as MDNA in Europe and America, then probably not.
-
Probably just like the Star Academy or BBC performances - just her and the band. But that, let's call it 'red circle stage', is not that big.I doubt she prepared something totally different because she didn't have too much time to manage it.
-
It'd be smart, that's for sure, to show how it was intended. I doubt his studio could house that stage though.Probably Living For Love and Ghosttown.I REALLY hope she will perform the same performance as she did yesterday (of course without a fall
). Yesterday show was absolutely amazing and we need to have this concept just without a blooper. Who agress with me?

Haha, I was thinking the same!Honestly can't believe they didn't use velcro.

They could have easily edited it out - assholes

She wasn't at the Red Carpet, they had a private Q&A for her. She was collaborating with someone from the UK fashion week, so this would make sense. The first initial pic looks like her, and the outfit isn't identical to the other pics.G_O_N_E confirmed that it's her.

No, the doc doesn't feature the entire show. Pretty sure a normal release of the entire show is planned though.
