  1. I don’t think it ever hit the top spot. In fact she never had a #1 album in the ‘90s as far as I’m concerned.
  2. I guess she both wanted to go into a different directon from “American Life” as she hates to repeat herself, and needed to gain back her popularity. That’s why she went back to her basics and basically played to her strengths. Call me crazy but I also think Mariah’s success throughout 2005 also provoked Madonna. The Grammy drama adds to my conspiracy theory as well!
  3. What I wonder is, if it is really her writing and posting all that stuff on Instagram, recording her kids on camera etc. Or does she have a social media crew or something? For my own account, I don’t mind her side projects and her promos for them. On the other side, I love her sharing her daily life, time with kids etc. It feels much more intimate and closer to her. But I wish she looked back a little bit, celebrate her old stuff a little more. I admire her living for today, but she has a legendary catalogue and it would be nice to share her thoughts, insight, and feelings about anniversaries of her albums, singles, tours etc.
  4. Big deal. I do. Sorry for not asking for your permission. Yes, likes of LAV are massively successful SINGLES whereas CS is not, hence me calling it an “album track” and its favoritism a “hype”.
  5. Then you may use another term for it, I prefer to see it as a hype, so much for an album track. Comparing the inclusion of this song to that of mega hits just proves my point I’d say. Besides, it has been performed on three tours, shocker, the exact number of the tours she went on since 2008. Well, I also said the same thing.
  6. I heard many who do. Besides, Madonna herself has included the song in every one of her tours since its release.
  7. Love both songs, hate both videos. But I voted for ‘I’ll Remember’.
  8. I love reading those eras, @groovyguy! Especially with a cup of coffee and the vinyl of the associated album on when I am home. When I am at work and have some off time, I take a look at the articles as well. It softens the loneliness on my shoulders.
  9. The list is fine, at least in terms of the albums included. Exclusion of “American Life”, “Hard Candy”, and especially “MDNA” are totally fair though I wish I could see “Rebel Heart” on the list for the better part of it. I am also happy to see that people started to regard “I’m Breathless” more of a Madonna album rather than a soundtrack, which it isn’t. To me, “Confessions” is on top 3 considering the quality of the songs, its overall concept, and massive success. I would also rank “Music” higher whereas the first two albums should have been ranked lower. Their impact is limited and Madonna had little if not no contribution to them.
  10. Wonderful! Please bring out more!
  11. Surprised to ‘Rain’ being so unpopular and ‘Bad Girl’ so popular.
  12. At first glance, I also agree that the original military-themed video for the title track actually had nothing to do with the song’s subject matter, which was quest for fame. But with a deeper look, the song talks about “greed” and it was also the case with the US attack in Iraq in 2003. So, maybe it was not completely irrelevant after all. For the album, I wish it had more protest songs and an edgier sound. The title and the artwork of the album as well as Madonna’s overall image and attitude could have implied such an approach. I would like a rock sound better, just like on her tours, see “I’m Going to Tell You a Secret”. Also, more socially conscious lyrics would have served much more relevantly on an album called “American Life”. Anyways, not among my favorite albums, but I like all the songs except for the terrible ‘Mother and Father’. ‘Nothing Fails’ is my absolute favorite!
  13. Love ‘Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You’ aka ‘Cry Me a River’-Madonna Remix, and I also love ‘Voices’, but the rest is just okay. I don’t hate the album, but the quality of the final product was not really what I had been expecting from those collaborations, especially with Timbaland. Don’t really get the hype for ‘Candy Shop’ (though it makes me smile when she refers to Turkish delight) and I wish ‘Across the Sky’ was also included. Still, I listen to it every now and then.
  14. Where exactly does your concept of ageism start? Just because I pointed out she acted like an adolescent? Well, she does!
  15. Great great great! I’ve read all of this listening to “Something to Remember” LP with a cup of coffee. Lovely way to spend the evening doing.
  16. I went with ‘Don’t Tell Me’. Love Madonna’s look, the dance, handsome cowboys, and the song of course!
  17. 'Ghosttown'! So cinematic, cool, and lovely to watch!
  18. I went with 'Music' due to its fun nature, 'Don't Tell Me' due to her cool style and the handsome cowboys, and 'Jump' due to its energy and my love for the song.
  19. I’ll say I am happy that it remained an album track. If there had to be another single off “Bedtime Storiesâ€, which I love, it should have been ‘Survival’, ‘Forbidden Love’, or ‘Sanctuary’.
  20. Objectively speaking, I can only stand two songs (‘Girl Gone Wild’ and ‘Gang Bang’) and only like other two songs (‘Love Spent’ and ‘Falling Free’, and I would appreciate a different production for both.). The rest does not exist to me. Dance music has always been Madonna’s strongest suit, and I like dance music as well. But I really can’t like any kind of up-tempo music just because it is from a certain artist. There is good music and bad music; and to me this album symbolizes the latter.
  21. Only for her stans apparently. And thanks for letting us know!
  22. “MDNA†above “Music†and “I’m Breathlessâ€, let alone the first two albums and “Hard Candyâ€? The world can come to an end now. Anyway, I am mostly satisfied with the results. My top two are the same, but I would place “Like a Prayer†on third place. I am also happy to see “Rebel Heart†finally gaining its rightful place, though I would place “Music†and “Bedtime Stories†before it.
  23. Wait, no ‘Express Yourself’ or ‘Frozen’?
  24. Hahahah genius clickbait. Anyway, I voted for ‘Bad Girl’. I love the song, but the video is my absolute favorite. A true masterpiece indeed. I believe it was the only movie-like video throughout her career. Maybe WIFLFAG as well, a little bit.
