  1. True, female artists easily get to their "True Blue" era but they're not able to succeed past it quality-wise.
  2. +1 She has an outstanding body of work. We just have to look at the material she's able to come up with in her 4th (!!) decade: Ghosttown, Living for Love, Messiah, Inside Out, WAOM, Veni Vidi Vici, Joan of Arc, Love Spent, Falling Free, I'm Addicted....and I could go on and on. She is LIFE, queen!
  3. Yes, I like this interpretation, it could be right, some songs can have different meanings Such an interesting and unique track in her catalog it's not a coincidence LAP and AOC are the first and last track respectively, they both mix religion with something else, LAP with sex and AOC with irony, pointing out the circular structure of the album.
  4. Erotica is one of her best albums and the era itself is a career and culture defining moment. An amazing era lyrically, musically, visually and vocally (she was on fire, some of the best vocals of her career). Erotica was more than music, it was a concept, a project, you had an album, a book, a movie, a tour, an alter ego. Simply groundbreaking, she made history. As for the albums you mentioned, It is absolutely on the same level as LAP and ROL while COADF, on the other hand, gets way too much credit, the credit You Can Dance deserves.
  5. ST is such a gem, love that she's also had hits as a songwriter for others (while still singing the chorus though ). Sidewalk Talk, Each time you break my heart, Love won't wait, Like a Flower are all well known hits that prove her lyrical and musical talent even more, love them.
  6. She sure deserves it tbh. She doesn't "need" it as her legacy is already legendary but how great would it be?
  7. Totally forgot about this. Great track. Her contribution here is minimal but it's always lovely to hear her voice. Another great background vocalist moment from 1988 is the extended version of Nick Kamen's Tell Me.
  8. Woah! Such an underrated track from fans and Madonna herself. Good job P!nk
  9. True, that photoshop intrusion wasn't needed, she's fabulous Queen of eternal youth.
  10. 1 March 2018 Official Charts Flashback 1998: Madonna - Frozen Plus there were new entries from Leanne Rimes, Robyn and more in the UK Top 40 20 years ago this week. Frozen was Madonna's first single to debut at Number 1 in the UK, shifting 196,604 copies in its opening week. It's total combined sales to date stand at 582,353, split between 560,000 physical sales/downloads and 2.2 million streams. It's her ninth bestseller in the UK http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/official-charts-flashback-1998-madonna-frozen__22005/
  11. Celebration re-enters the UK albums chart at #187
  12. MDNA Tour Blond Ambition Tour Confessions Tour Virgin Tour Girlie Show Tour Rebel Heart Tour Drowned World Tour Who's That Girl Tour Sticky & Sweet Tour Re-Invention Tour They're all amazing shows though, I love them
  13. Live to tell CT, absolutely. La Vie en Rose is a close second though, love her vocals. Another favorite of mine is Crazy For You at the Virgin Tour.
  14. Mmmmm not really a fan of that article. We still haven't listened to a single note of her new music and that writer is making assumptions based on nothing. Also, people forget HC was a very cohesive album written and produced with a restricted number of people, so the "songwriting camp" thing is invalid. As for RH, she said it herself back in 2015 that she did not like the "on and off the train" process but still, she loved working with Avicii/Toby/Mozella and Diplo and the album is full of wonderful tracks that I still fail to see how they were chasing trends, the album is simply Madonna being Madonna. The dismissive tone towards her "since 2008"/most recent output is the most annoying thing of Madonnaland together with the "Madonna can't sing" myth people made up back in 1985. They both need to end
  15. Yes yesterday it was working. The cover is actually really nice, Lana didn't "add" anything to it but she still did a good job. Madonna's version remains unmatched. I love Lana and own every album of hers but apart from Blue Velvet/Once Upon a Dream and The Other Woman (which are REALLY beautiful) I feel covers are not where she shines.
  16. Madonna: Think of Me Like a Virgin: Stay True Blue: Where's The Party/White Heat (the smash hits that never were) Like a Prayer: Love Song/Spanish Eyes Erotica: Words Bedtime Stories: Forbidden Love Ray of Light: Sky Fits Heaven Music: Impressive Instant American Life: Hollywood Confessions on a dance floor: Future Lovers/Forbidden Love Hard Candy: Beat Goes On MDNA: I'm Addicted/Love Spent/Masterpiece/Gang Bang Rebel Heart: So many fantastic tracks, I can't choose
  17. American Life. Simply the worst song of her career in my opinion...also the video with the flags didn't make things any better (LOVE the original one though). I don't know what people at Warner were thinking when they chose it as the lead single when they had Hollywood ready to set the charts on fire.
  18. While Instagram is not my favorite Madonna "expression", I have to agree. And I have to admit that many times she shares very beautiful pictures, some of them are even better than her photoshoots TBH.
