The album is fantastic! Lot of similar intro's yea, lots of country influence, yes.  Really different for Kylie, but it definitely all works and this will go down as one of her better albums if not one of her best. 

Listened to a few tracks - they sound a bit the same to me ? same guitar and beat and i dont like her high pitched voice either ? will listen to the rest of it later :))

Remixes are important for promotional purposes. Some remixes are even hits on their own. But hers have been really basic lately. Hope they improve or splurge some on some big names. I mean why the fuck didn't they let Diplo remix tracks or even include his BIM remix on the release which was by far the best....

The whole remix industry is almost non event since maxi singles market dead.
so remixes only matter for billboard club play chart which is more joke than something real.

She's pandering to the lowest common denominator and likely doesn't give af about remixes for pennies. Its a shame what the circuit community has done to her club legacy imho all these flashes in the pan. Despite all that new tech, "club culture" is very stubborn and refuses to change which is kinda ironic.

Like a lot of her albums(erotica, im breathless) this didnt really grab me very much at the time(being a fan since 1987 i was excited though ! ) - a lot of the songs weren't very catchy but i loved the ambient sound of it - i think drowned world is the song that has stuck with me the most over the years and it still is one of my favourite tracks of her - i love the way it starts off very quiet and then gradually builds - i love songs like that - i also love the japan bonus track "has to be" way more than songs like skin(which i hate - sorry) it was a special time and its the first time i can remember her being not only critically successful but also commercially - imo the singles didn't do very well probably because they werent really "radio" friendly especially NRM, DW & POG -  Frozen only did well because it was the lead off single i think - rol was a hit mainly because of its video - i remember watching the mtv awards where she won big and all i can think is why didnt she get this many awards for far better videos like vogue,open your heart, bad girl, take a bow, rain ? again it just shows mtv care more about popularity than actual artistic merit - sure rol is a good video but i think she has done way better videos than this - i actually preferred garbages' video of push it more at the time and think they should have won?

The fact that it wasn't released as a single is because she didn't want to be a covers singer for a long time. In the 80s, such covers were regarded as "bonus" or b-side material, not original enough (indeed) for a young artist. In the 90s, times had changed and covers were trendy again, hence Fever, the remix single version of LDLHA and American Pie.
