You're both right - ideally the Spotify album should call it the Single Version. My argument is that the Single Version is the first original mix of Vogue that they completed and got ready for radio. Then when they heard the Bette Davis Dub, they added that intro to the Single Version to create the Edit which was used for the album. Again, I wish I remembered my source for this sorry!

I know the explanation for this but I can't remember where I read it sorry (might have been someone on here). Vogue's original mix was the single version (4:23). When the remixes were done, the intro of the Bette Davis Dub was so excellent that someone had the idea to make that the introduction to the song, and that became the album version (4:49) on I'm Breathless. So because the single mix came first, it's listed as "Vogue" in their databases, and I'm Breathless' version is the (longer) "Edit". Then they made it even longer on TIC a few months later (5:17). Someone please correct me if I have the wrong info

+1 for MusicBee, it's so much easier and its autotagging search features are fantastic. I then sync everything from MusicBee to dedicated Spotify playlists for listening on the go.

I'm a lifer, I'm not going anywhere ? It was absolutely in the plans but then I decided to leave it out and let the album have a chance to stand on its own for once. It would also lets the original book keep its mystique and value.

I debated including it, but my rationale eventually was: it was the Erotica team who created it during the middle of creating Erotica, so why not include it? Plus it's pretty forgotten and underrated for a #1 single, time to give it some love!

If one of her interns is indeed on here, for God's sake give me a call. ? @OceanBlueNo particular reason for that, it could always be amended to include both versions. But I had to make some calls on what would fit on a disc of demos - a lot of the Rain Tape demos were axed from that because of how damaged or close to the album versions they are.

For fun, and because it's a great creative exercise different to the kind of work I do as a designer full-time. Plus sometimes people don't know what they want until they see it. And concept projects like mine could be deciding factors in convincing the people responsible to produce products like this, especially once they see audience and consumer demand. We've got some of her old maxi singles on streaming now after all - anything could happen.

If it helps, since that article was published, she's clearly hired a new social media team. The captions are now in quotation marks to indicate she's not the one posting them. Instead of low-res screenshots or unflattering selfies, now there's high quality video clips, carefully selected photos of her (few and far between lately) and high quality re-posts, particularly in the Stories. There's been no disastrous content, only one that's been really attention-grabbing (because it's gorgeous) nude mirror selfie. The rest has been political and a lot of nostalgic "remember that Madonna has always stood for X Y and Z" flashback posts, the Russian concert one being a prime example. Someone's doing a very careful, professional job with her social media now, and good for her! Let's hope it has a strong impact on her public perception as the months and years go on.

Good question. Here's my thought process. This was meant to be a "think as big as possible" box set. It's unlikely that if it were made, everything I've put in it would be included, but we can dream! I also tried to think of how this could shape the re-release of her entire legacy and if each album got a big box set like this, then eventually you'd have the complete singles collection of all the new CD maxis and 7" coloured vinyls, and the complete tours collection etc. It would all come out after the big money is made from buying the lavish everything-and-the-kitchen-sink sets. That was my thinking anyway!
