  1. I will say Get Together just purely because of how often it shows up in playlists or remixes I listen to. But I love Runaway Lover a lot too, one of the finer songs on Music.
  2. I wasn't entirely sure, I was on the "borderline" about it, lol.
  3. And Crazy for You, I just realized that it was missing aswell.
  4. So I had this brilliant idea for something of a ballad compilation that draws from all her works, as opposed to simply the next half after Something to Remember. But anything compilation wise for Madonna really ought to have a twist or something interesting. So for my idea (tentatively called Messiah) I was thinking of two disks. The Two disks coincide with each other and either played first. The thing that separates them is the tone of the ballads on them. The first disk being filled with light, airy, and happy ballads while the second of filled with darker, mysterious, and sadder ballads. Light vs Darkness. So I'm looking for opinions on these tracks, whether they fit the bill as ballad or not. Disk One (Light) Disk Two (Darkness) 1.Borderline 1. Love Don't Live Here Anymore 2. Shoo-Bee-Doo 2. Live to Tell 3. True Blue 3. Look of Love 4. Cherish 4. Oh Father 5. Something to Remember 5. Bad Girl 6. Rain 6. Love Tried to Welcome Me 7. I'll Remember 7. Frozen 8. Take A Bow 8. I Deserve It 9. One More Chance 9. Nothing Fails 10. Little Star 10. Forbidden Love 11. Time Stood Still 11. Miles Away 12. What It Feels Like For A girl 12. Devil Wouldn't Recognize 13. Love Profusion 13. Falling Free 14. Masterpiece 14. I F*cked Up 15. Living For Love (Demo 3) 15. Best Night 16. Joan of Arc (Demo 1) 16. Wash All Over Me (Demo 3) 17. Ghosttown 17. Messiah (Demo 5) 18. Messiah (Demo 4)
  5. So this is where I ended up. 1. Bad Girl 2. Rain 3. I'll Remember 4. Take a Bow 5. Bedtime Story (has always been a soothing and dreamy song to myself, but also bridges Take a Bow with I Want You well!) 6. I Want You 7. One More Chance 8. You'll See 9. You Must Love Me 10. Drowned World 11. Frozen 12. Power of Goodbye 13. To Have Not to Hold (IMO, too good to omit. It completes the trio with its two predecessors on Ray of Light, and here.) 14. Time Stood Still (Not a single but flowed well in the mix) 15. What It Feels Like for a Girl (I feel like this single was always overlooked.) 16. Paradise (While not my favorite and usually never give the time of day, I kept it here for you and honestly it works! Perfect closing song for this kind of set up!)
  6. Well I'll shoot away with a top 10 (in no particular order)of my favorite ballads: 1. Ghosttown 2. Love Profusion 3. Frozen 4. I Deserve It 5. Miles Away 6. Get Together (?) or Love Tried to Welcome Me 7. Living for Love (?) or Something to Remember 8. To Have Not to Hold 9. I F*cked Up 10. Crazy for You
  7. Yes! It was completed by HeartBreak City. I do agree about that... I don't even want to think about that remix.. I try forgetting about that one.
  8. Before I post mine, can anyone like definitively tell me what qualifies a song as a ballad?
  9. Just relistened to it... It's not as bad as I remember, but I give praise to LDLHA over it.
  10. I give it up to Rebel Heart, American Life, and Ray of Light as the strongest lyrically. They contained cut-deep lyrics and perspective-shattering moments! Devil Pray, American Life, and Swim (and so many more). I really only have one album to ever complain about, that being Like A Virgin. It was 80s and singles were what made or broke an album, not the rest fo the tracks. ANd while I love all the singles (Dress You Up In My Love the most!), the lyrics were... meh. They were either lovey-dovey or too doily (Shoo Bee DOo Bee, not even trying to get that one right).
  11. I would even be keen on making another album that was mixed like Confessions. To be honest I'm not really into anything thats on the radio this year. So maybe she can just stay away from mainstream. Rebel Heart's conception was organic but was almost pretty much how she described Hard Candy, a juxtaposition of two opposites. The Rebel was generally out done by the Heart unfortunately. I'd like to see some rock and industrial sounds, give some darkness to it. Maybe its time for the Black Madonna?
  12. The beginning gets me everytime! "I'm talking to the lighting!"
  13. Iconic and its intro had it all! But Madonna Brit Awards performance had more impact than anything. Falling, getting up, and singing live still.
  14. Madonna: Luckstar, Borderline, Burning Up Like A Virgin: Like A Virgin, Material Girl, Dress You Up True Blue: Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita, Live to Tell Like A Prayer: Like A Prayer, Express Yourself, Oh Father I'm Breathless: Vogue, Hanky Panky, Back In Business Erotica: Erotica, Deeper & Deeper, Waiting Bedtime Story: Secret, Human Nature, Bedtime Story Ray of Light: Nothing Really Matters, Frozen, Power of Goodbye Music: Music, Impressive Instance, Runaway Lover American Life: Hollywood, Nothing Fails, Die Another Day Confessions: Hung Up, Sorry, Like It or Not Hard Candy: 4 Minutes, Heart Beat, Miles Away MDNA: Girl Gone Wild, I'm Addicted, Give Me All Your Luvin Rebel Heart: Living for Love, Devil Pray, B*tch I'm Madonna
  15. White Heat, wish it didn't have the narrative bits but it's still awesome. One of the first songs I liked from her early stuff.
  16. I know! When heard the music from MDNA Tour (the crowd included) during her angel scene, I was like "Who chose this? They couldn't even at least do the studio version???"
  17. Done! Was waiting to do it until I had gone through all the demos again!
  18. So I just feel like new music is around the corner, maybe closer to beginning of next year but still, I can't wait! But just in the spirit of new music, what sounds do you all think would work? She played with a smidge of reggae in Unapologetic B*tch, which was fresh and worked. I'm hesitant to suggest trap, as I've heard some good and bad remixes of her songs in Trap style. I also feel that'd land her back in the desperate seat. I'm not sure what underground style are going on right now that could use her brilliance to drag them into the limelight. I also feel that politics (for better or worse) may become the meat of some of the songs, but I think she needs to pull a page from Rhianna and simply do some dance songs that will be basic enough to be relate-able to but with some Madonna character and new twists.
  19. I mean it would make sense. Nothing, except maybe Bedtime Stories (song) would have fit what she was going for.
  20. So, I was gonna make a remix album (not my own remixes) from those remixes released with Ray of Light's singles. I once heard that some of the remixes sound really experimental and may have been meant for the remix album. However, would it have just Ray of Light remixes or would it have been more You Can Dance, collecting songs up the current album and stringing them together in a dance medley? Tell me what you think would have been on it and what era range.
  21. I'm just so curious about it. I like the song, but its so Hard Candy but the vocals sound so Rebel Heart. Would y'all include it in a Rebel Heart playlist? If so then where? I know Rebel Heart is quite the scattered messed and even the best reorganization still leaves some wanting, but if there any two songs Take A Day should fit between, what would they be?
  22. Turn Up the Radio is easily the one song I always skip on MDNA. I love the majority of that album except TUTR and maybe even Gang Bang (just depends on my mood). But I could listen to Dress You Up anytime! My favorite Like A Virgin song!
