  1. I'm sure Lola and Rocco think we, Madonna fans, are a pretty pathetic bunch (I have met a few myself lol). It must be weird for them to see the level of idolatry/worship and obsession that their mum inspires in so many people... worrying too, like we have no lives of our own. Even Madonna has clearly encouraged us to focus on our own lives, and also kept her distance from us—which is understanble. Truthfully, she has never been chummy with us, nor really made us feel like we owe her anything. Which doesn't mean she isn't thankful, but I'm convinced that she's the kind of person who truly believes that everything she has is mostly the result of hard work and discipline, even if MANY people (collaborators, enablers, industry members, boyfriends, lovers, friends, and fans, of course) have been instrumental for her success. But going back to the topic, Lola clearly takes after her mother in terms of "sense of humour" and bitchiness. Unlike other celebrities and their children, these bunch have no interest in even pretending to like the public. Actually, I always giggled at hardcore fans waiting to see Madonna before and after shows during the MX Tour... Seriously, the woman NEVER stopped to say hi. And they still stood there (often in the cold) anxiously waiting for her. That's what Lola refers to when accusing of having "no life". Also, seeing some fans literally celebrating the fact that she's bullying them is truly pathetic, and it does expose how ridiculous social media is (in a worrying way). I'm also not going to pretend/imagine Madonna's kids are nice at all. Especially Lola and Rocco. Mercy does look like the kindest soul, but the others... Hm.... Rocco is really just like his dad—a posh, entitled brat. Even his choice of clothing for the recent trip to Africa made me think how much his attire looked like a distasteful throwback to the British Empire. Yuck. Some trivia: I met Guy back in 2011 at an event in one of his homes in Fitzrovia (central London) and I realised how much of an upper/middle-class chauvinistic bully he was. I was only a uni student then and it was quite heartbreaking, as I only realised afterwards how clever and sophisticated his bullying had been towards me and some of my friends. Oh well, you live, you learn. But yea, these kids... Stay away people haha.
  2. Haha yes! She’s such a bitch... gaaawd! Like mother, like daughter. Entitled awful girl ?
  3. Agree! I don't know how she'll manage. It would work a lot better as a series. So much to include.
  4. She looks good + cool that she’s working on this again... BUT... I was watching tv just now and just thinking how sad is it that she couldn’t be bothered/wasn’t asked to participate at the inauguration celebration tonight. Springsteen was amazing. That’s a guy who knows how to grab the right opportunities and stay on top and powerful as a legend. M feels and looks so far removed from today’s music scene— she does her thing, of course, but kind of like in her own bubble. I’m sorry but even the MX Tour felt like an over-indulgent project for her and her hardcore fans. Like, no outsiders were invited. Then we wonder why Madonna is drifting slowly into oblivion legacy-wise... She really doesn’t put herself out there lately. It’s like she doesn’t want to do it. Especially if there isn’t a huge production backing her. An acoustic session like the one she did for Hilary in 2016 would’ve been amazing for this evening’s concert. I really do hope she has a closer relationship with this administration than she did with Obama’s. Guy Oseary posted a pic today on his IG of when he met Biden so he better pull some strings AND make Madonna do something for them in the future. He should also warn her about not trying to be “funny” or irreverent with the President— girl, it doesn’t work lol. To this day, I think it was HILARIOUS that Obama barely cared about meeting her when they finally did on Jimmy Fallon. She was all star struck as the story goes, but unfortunately, he was quite formal about it. Let’s hope Kamala or Biden add her to their Spotify playlists in the future? Obama never did. #notafan ?
  5. Even that one be exciting. Let's be honest, Madame X cannot be bothered to do a lot of things nowadays.
  6. yep #comingsoon... NOT! Even the vaccine came before this. ?
  7. I actually think she looks amazing in her new post & IG story as a blonde. Can’t believe she’s still editing the fucking MX tour video, though. Ffs.
  8. Yesss. The Re-Invention Tour photo shoot had amazing pictures like this one. She looked soooooo beautiful.
  9. You know, I sort of have. The 2 times Madonna "has been in my dreams" it has been quite frustrating. On both occasions I was either queuing, or sitting, or just standing in the audience to see her live, and in both dreams, I fail to see the show at all. In one I remember being so far away from the stage, and having so many things and people blocking my view that I started feeling quite angry and powerless in my dream that I ended up waking up. In the other, as I reach the main entrance/door of the venue, I'm told my ticket is counterfit and entry is denied to me. So I can only sort of hear the concert from outside. At some point, I see her limo leaving the venue, and I try to run after her but my feet do not respond and I fall. End of second M "dream". So, basiclaly, nightmares. Horrible, ain't it? LOL
  10. Ohh good topic! Also, very difficult... I think the main challenge for me here is to focus on the actual single releases rather than the songs... For example, "Drowned world" may be my absolute fave Madonna song, yet, its release as a single wasn't as stellar... I loved the single cover and video, but the remixes were bleh and it wasn't widely released either. Though looking back, "Drowned World" was definitely a difficult song to market, so kudos for Warner to be bold enough to give it the green light at all. Anyway, faves are (in chronological order): La Isla Bonita, Like A Prayer, Express Yourself, Vogue, Justify My Love, Rescue Me, Deeper and Deeper, Bad Girl, Rain, Don't Cry for Me Argentina, Frozen, Ray of Light, Music, Don't Tell Me, What it Feels Like for A Girl, Die Another Day, American Life, Jump, Girl Gone Wild, Crave.
  11. Who shot this? I love it soo much. I used to have the poster! :(
  12. OMG this is really hard... I love the 1995 Fall/Winter Versace campaign shot with Mario Testino. My absolute fave. My least fave has to be the Hard Candy album photo shoot AND most of what has been done for MDNA SKin. I mean, that photo that was used for the 2018 Official calendar... They retouched her face sooo much that it almost looks like a painting — very Mae West but come on, barely looks like M anymore.. awful! I keep getting the feeling M is way too comfy with Steven Klein now. Which is a shame. Not many of their recent collabs have been too interesting.
  13. Well, I’m still laughing at my housemate’s comment when I showed him the video. In his words: “Like that’s the first time she’s had something long slap her around the face... I’m surprised she even recoiled!” ? ?
  14. I just saw that wtf!!! Stupid elephant! That must’ve been a bit scary ?
  15. I don't think Rebel Heart or Madame X are the problem, either. RH is in fact quite well appreciated by younger pop fans. I even insist that it might be one of her finest and catchiest pop records, even if it is a flawed and looong ass album. That said, to me, the main problem is Madonna. And perhaps for the past decade, her management and Live Nation contract have been the main issue for everything. The fact that she's practically absent from main pop playlists both on Spotify and Apple Music is absolutely disgraceful. Also, the fact that she still has been unable to really reach out, and create a genuine impact on a new generation is obvious with these numbers. She shouldn't have to rely SO heavily on her hardcore fanbase (who also refuses to stream!) — clearly Elton and MJ don't! Even from a business perspective, these results astonish me. Haven't M and Mr Oseary realised the lack of revenue? The loss of meaningful opportunities? The increased loss of attention and even respect towards Madonna's catalogue over the years? As I said in my previous post, I do understand that an artist cannot control everything, yet there IS a lot that can be done. Madonna is NOT using new technologies to her advantage (only on the satge, and let's not get into that whole mess!) to capture new audiences, to promote her music, to reach out and interact with new generations and people that, overall, she hasn't reached to in YEARS. These days I just think she's waay more focused on Malik and her kids than her career, and that's fair, but even if that's the case, there should be a more proactive approach from her management to push her music through different channels. You simply don't hear Madonna's music as much anymore, and even when you do, people don't even realise it's her. That's unfortunately the times we live in : you basically have to put things in people's faces in order to get results. People won't do the research, won't simply just go and discover M's music because she's allegedly a legend... You have to really work/earn that through playlisting, effective social media approaches, targeted tv promo (all of which she lacks, sadly)... and I wish that just for the sake of monies and revenues she could just fake it & be approachable and fun for once! — The savvy unapologetic business woman has been asleep for way too long. Do it for the kids in Malawi, M, if that's what gets you going! lol
  16. Oops I didn't notice this thread beforehand — I may have started a topic on this in the charts section? (sorry!) I understand that she didn't really release any new music this past year etc., (did the "Levitating" remix even count?) but I find it a bit depressing tbh. Her back catalogue keeps heading deeper into obscurity (yes, I'm aware I'm being a bit dramatic), and it's sad. Just a decade ago M was still ubiquitous in popular culture... now.... nothing. I get it that she's enjoying her life, and that often artists cannot control how their music is received/appreciated by future generations, but this is ridiculous. She has one of the most diverse, fun, creative, bold and just f***ing amazing catalogue sin music history. There are things she could do to improve her popularity but as we'v seen, she's really not into that. She seems to be really digging pushing the limits of how unpopular and contrarian she can be. Plus she rarely gives interviews, performs, and when she does perform, she will only do it if there's a huge production backing her... frustrating. Soooo many missed opportinities. And yes, she's been recuperating, but come on, she's been out and about a lot. She just doesn't want to do it. Little Zoom calls with Ellen, Jimmy Fallon or Andy Cohen would've put her out there a bit but she doesn't want to. Alas... Elton, The Rolling Stones, James Taylor, Elvis, Bruce Springsteen... All these legends have WAAAY more streams than she does. Madonna, up your game damn it! LOL
  17. I hope so too. I don't like to pass so much judgement on her travels, but clearly the situation in Malawi is getting pretty bad, and the president is now facing strong criticism for meeting Madonna too, as they clearly followed no social distancing protocols. There's a new covid cases surge and four senior political figures have died from the virus in the last few days. Two articles on the matter below: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9138885/Four-political-figures-Malawi-DIE-Covid-19-just-days-Madonna-appeared-country.html https://www.voanews.com/covid-19-pandemic/malawi-president-saddened-over-coronavirus-surge
  18. We all need to chill here and hope that Madonna and her team are sticking to the current rules in place for traveling. Suddenly we’ve become enraged online trolls trying to hold celebrities (including M) accountable for things most of us have no idea about. It’s easy to hate on the rich but, let’s ask ourselves, what do we get from doing that? Absolutely nothing. A moment of self-gratification, perhaps, nothing more. Believe me, NO ONE involved - nor Madonna, nor the respective migration authorities in Malawi or Kenya are reading your comments. She even met the President of Malawi ffs! If you’re so concerned about people not following the rules, please make sure you do that yourself first and foremost. If Madonna has indeed broken any rules, believe me, we’ll hear about it. For now, don’t perpetuate the gossip and BS tabloids and Madonna haters on Twitter relish in. Stop thinking social media is everything, and maybe give her (super uber rich entitled Madonna) the benefit of the doubt. She’s doing plenty of good in Africa, I don’t believe she’s gone there to spread covid to vulnerable people. It’s so easy to be so judgmental behind the screen... I can’t speak for any of you but I’d rather put my energy (frustration, anger!) into something more productive than calling Madonna out on a Madonna FAN forum, or Twitter. Isn’t that one of Madonna’s main lessons for us to begin with? “Do something meaningful with your own life first, that’s how you can pay tribute to me”? (I recall she said something like that to an audience back in 2003 when promoting American Life in London, maybe it was at the HMV store mini concert she gave — correct me if I’m wrong?) Anyway, hope everyone is good and safe. End of rant LOL
  19. Pardon me but I thought the “talk to your mother that way, the most influential female artist of all time doesn't need your angry rants” comment was written in a cheeky/humorous way. Am I the only one who cannot see any harm in it? But most importantly, why read so much into it? Or worse, why take it literally and then start such an unpleasant exchange on here? No one deserves to be censored about this, so grow up, move on and back to the topic. Fair? We’re here to discuss Madonna ONLY, I’m afraid. Nothing else. Thanks.
  20. I think that if there is indeed an appearance coming up, it must have been pre-recorded already (vocals and video). Otherwise, I doubt it. Also, she hasn’t been walking again until recently, so I really struggle to think there has been much in the works. That said, I’m still curious about that photo with The Weeknd’s manager. It must mean something, after all.
  21. Tbf Madonna representing the voice of “God”, or “God” even was quite the homage. I thought it was a very cool concept. Overall, I also think, we, fans are probably forgetting that, at this point, Madonna really collaborates with people out of fun and/or camaraderie. There’s probably not much more to it than that. She also cannot control what those collaborators do with do with the final product —Whether they release them as singles or not, etc.
  22. Maybe M will make an appearance, after all. Maybe that photo of M with The Weeknd’s manager does indicate the recording of vocals for whatever they’re planning... but... I wouldn’t get too excited though. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up making a lame cameo appearance, and as brief as her little speech on Ariana’s “God is a woman” video. We’ll see.
  23. Exactly. Something has definitely changed. I get it that often things can go wrong on live tv, that she doesn’t dance as much as she used to, or that she probably even experienced technical difficulties at Eurovision (at least I’d like to think so). But the accumulation of bad tv moments have been a bit overwhelming, personally. For a woman that claims to be so much of a perfectionist, at this point, even she should realise her performances have been a bit weird and way below her standards. Plus, am I the only one who has felt/noticed that Madonna has become increasingly nervous/uncomfortable on stage? I notice this particularly when she performs in front of “the industry”. Of course, the opposite happens when she performs for her fans. Then she just becomes a complete tyrannical bitch LOL (she would say she’s just being funny and ironic, for sure haha).
