    13. In This Life
    14. Did You Do It

In This Life is probably one of my least fav Madonna songs ever.  I appreciate the subject & whatnot, just ALWAYS skip it.  DYDI is fun but def a skipper.

  1. Madonna can absolutely produce a track on her own.  All she needs to do is order engineers around.  She co-produces everything already.

That being said, Hold Tight sounds very much like a Ryan Tedder production.

I doubt he wanted to be disassociated with it because he had a similar song with Gwen months or a year before he did HT. Why would he produce it in the first place?

I think it was more along the lines of the album being such a mess with the leaks & her switching which versions etc etc for the final tracklist.  The initial credits for the album took forever to come out and haven't they even been revised since?  I don't trust those credits, this song being the glaring example.

    1. Beautiful Killer
    2. Girl Gone Wild
    3. Love Spent
    4. I Don’t Give A
    5. Turn Up The Radio
    6. I’m a Sinner
    7. Masterpiece
    8. I'm Addicted
    9. Gang Bang
    10. Give Me All Your Luvin’
    11. Falling Free
    12. Best Friend
    13. Some Girls
    14. I Fucked Up
    15. Superstar
    16. B-Day Song

One of her more flawed albums, but I agree its underrated.

  2. Because you like a lot of the more recent stuff (post 2005), I'd say listen to Confessions On A Dancefloor.  Then try the Like a Prayer album cuz you'll feel closer to God .

My experience in getting into older music that I've just been causal about is to just find an album you can get into & soak it in for a few weeks/couple months/however long you need,  then find a track that grabs you from elsewhere in the discography--maybe its the next chronological album maybe its just another one of the more celebrated albums--but then delve into that album.  Her debut album is a fucking classic if you ask me but I didn't get into it until i was a fan for like 15 years. But take your time & enjoy the journey.

I've been getting into Fleetwood Mac & Queen myself lately after being a VERY casual listener for years & I'm turning 42 this month (and I've been a Madonna fan since I was 12 so OMFG I've been Madonna fan for 30 years this year!!!!).  There's ALWAYS music to get into no matter what age you are if you truly love music.

As for Madonna though, Erotica you should def give another shot at some point.  And from the songs you say you like, I'd say you'd might be inclined toward Bedtime Stories.

ALSO, when you listen to a Madonna album, WATCH THE VIDEOS from that album. That may help you "get it" more, but I'm a visual person & I'm sure plenty of fans may disagree.

    Happy Listening!

  3. Guy always gets blamed for everything, but maybe its not always Guy.  Maybe Madonna just makes a lot of her own choices & tells him no to a lot of his ideas that could be good. And maybe some of the reverse, or a bit of both.

-Someone got her to do more 80's hits on the RHT.

-Writing camps on RH were fruitful if not complicated & messy.  Got some great songs out of it.  But glad she's tried it and is moving on back to her typical way of making records.

-She promoted the HELL out of RH.

Its hard to figure out what she does that is her own choice vs what Guy tries getting her to do.

  4. My least fave is the RIT version, not that I dislike it. I remember were so excited to hear it live after 14 years it was so magical to experience at MSG that night.

I liked the MDNA version as it was closest to the original remix version/BAT version.

  5. Its time for Angel & an uptempo version of Open Your Heart.

Also Express Yourself needs to come back and make up for the MDNA Tour number.

    ALSO, how about Rain?

Then there Physical Attraction, Sorry, Give It 2 Me, Frozen, Causing A Commotion, Live To Tell, Oh Father, Don't Tell Me.......now I can't stop.

Edit: I love the EY/BTW mashup, just didn't like the actual number & costume.
