did anybody even find out if you can get a refund if the show is late ...i mean id take that digitalnycwhatshisface word for it but i will pass on that lol ...i know you can apply for a refund but lets say somebody walks out while her band are performing before she comes on etc isnt that part of the show

I don’t believe for a moment ticketmaster will be giving refunds out that easily. Im pretty sure it would have to be agreed to by Live Nation as they will be the ones copping the bill. I’m not saying they won’t do it but the last thing they’d want is for word to get out that it’s a given thing. It’s very rare for any event to offer that without extreme circumstances, it’s basically a last resort. They’d sooner invite you back to a second show, maybe a VIP upgrade or extra merch if you really push for it. Something that won’t cost them much.

Im not saying people are lying, I’m sure they were given a number to call but that doesn’t mean much. It means you’ve got a phone number to call and complain to someone about it ?

As an adult , I'd be questioning the mentality of a fully grown man that seriously refers to a singer as 'The Queen' with any degree of actual seriousness, and would probably question their self respect if they thought it was okay to have their time wasted by a singer who simply cant be arsed to do what more or less every other artist in the touring game does... which is get on stage on time.

There are loads of people that have waited days in the cold to see her. Or travelled across continents. Or spent thousands on her. I don’t know what ticket you had but some people would probably question your mentality for paying the price you did for a ticket. Or for discussing her on forums day in day out. Its really a personal choice what you think she’s worth or how much time/money you want to dedicate.

I do find it strange that people defend her so blindly, it is hard to defend these late starts as she really has no excuse. I doubt they truly mean what they’re saying and are just blinded by their fandom. As I’ve said I’m not personally effected by it but I do empathize with casual fans especially because if I went to see some other show and it started that late I’d be very irritated and impatient. I am just glad this show isn’t general admission because that would be tedious not being able to leave your spot.

Interesting although Frozen and Give It 2 Me bits are wrong - those are NOT samples. :)

Interesting because I can hear in Frozen they may have used some of those sounds but If it’s the case I think he’s changed it too much for it to be considered a sample.

Give it 2 Me... I believe that was the song the Marvin Gaye estate sued Pharrell for Blurred Lines and that song does have a similar sound to it. But it’s not a sample, he has actually copied it which is why it was regarded as plagiarism. Give It 2 Me had a similar sound but that’s the only connection there.

The last track of Like A Prayer is not Keep It Together, but it's Act Of Contrition. I never considered this as a real song, and when I was a kid I was very scared when I listened to it.

Given this, and considering  that I don't think about this track as a real song, for me the last Like A Prayer song is Spanish Eyes, and I vote this even if it's not on the list.

I felt the same about Act of Contrition as a kid but I actually love it now. I think its funny. And a great way to close the album as it mirrors the opening song Like a Prayer.

Madonna would not have had any say how it looked or sounded if she was leaving the record label.

If you’re talking about Celebration that is simply not true. Guy was even quizzing fans about what songs and which versions to include on social media. I’m not sure what her involvement was but she recorded new songs for the project so I’d say she was pretty involved in track list, cover art etc.

I don’t drink, and I’m not very big on making friends. I can appreciate socializing but it’s definitely not something I’d do for 2-3 hours. Maybe you feel differently about it, but I’m just me, that’s all I can be.

Fair enough. While I wait for Madonna I will be working the room flirting with cute French guys. I hope 3 hours is enough time... That’s just me ?

I wouldn't wanna meet most of the people here ddddddddd

Yeah, her being late is horrible. If the time on the tickets were 10, she would come out at midnight. It's a power move, maybe? To get people hyped, in some weird rockstar fantasy? Make them crave you more and all that?

I met one of my good friends on a Madonna forum. I’ve also met new people at concerts and had lots of fun. Not all Madonna fans are weirdos ?

Madonna clearly knows these late starts are an issue for a lot of people and has made it clear she doesn’t care. She is a night owl these days and this is what suits her. She’s always been arrogant in a lot of ways so it’s not that surprising to me she’s getting worse with age as she becomes more eccentric. She’s in a position where she can do whatever she wants and everyone has to suck it up unfortunately. It doesn’t really effect me personally so I’m not too bothered about it. I do empathize with those who are but there’s nothing that can be done.

That I don’t mind. Like what I want is for them to allow phones so we can pass the time with something, if she’s only late, I will still go. Of course I wish she was on time, but I doubt that’s ever gonna happen, until she’s no longer surrounded by yes-people and elastic rules and timeframes.

Can't you drink and socialize? What a wonderful time to meet other fans!

  9. I am not seeing her until Paris and I plan to be completely spoiler free. So far I have a pretty good idea of the setlist because of her teases but I stopped following her on insta before it started so I don’t know for sure what she’s performing. I’ve only heard some very vague details and accidentally saw 1 or 2 pics/boomerangs but that’s it. It honestly feels like a tour isn’t even happening, I know it’s going to make it amazing experience when I finally see her!

At the end of the day, if the rest of us turned up three hours late to work, what would the repercussion be?

Madonna isn't like the rest of us. If there were serious consequences she wouldn't do it. She clearly does not care. I'm not saying its right but its obvious it won't change.

At the end of the day she's one of the biggest music legends in history and when she's gone people will be bragging that they got to see her in a theatre.

A GH tour means Like a virgin, Material girl, La isla bonita, Like a prayer, Vogue.

Well she did all of those songs on the Rebel Heart Tour. I think for a casual audience that tour had a good balance of hits and album tracks. This theatre tour is clearly not for casual fans looking for a fun night out.

  12. She's clearly over traveling around with her children, it's not much of a life going from city to city and doing residencies gives her and her family more space to breathe and enjoy the experience.

But if this ends up being a financial success (which I'm sure it is) I would not be surprised if she just continues doing small venue residencies from now on. It doesn't have to be a theatre shows, she could do her usual style concerts in venues like Roseland Ballroom, Brixton etc. And she can also take that to other continents like Asia, SA etc. She can even do more hits and a greatest hits tour like that if she wants to.

She apparently went to LA with Michael Rosenblatt in February 1983 to drum up more money for her debut album. Ain't no Big Deal had been sold and they needed around $10K for another song. Seymour couldn't give it to them and the NY WB excecs had no interest in her. So Seymour told Michael to take her to LA. While there they met with Freddy DeMann. He the apparently went to NYC and saw her perform a track date and they made it official. So definitely 1983.

Great info, thank you so much!

  14. Not for a single, no.

If they were to do it it should be a one off live performance. Either that or some sort of obscure collaboration that isn't on an album or released as a single. Like Kylie did with Coldplay or Madonna did with Ricky Martin.

Doing a full on single would be silly, I think that moment is gone and Kylie isn't big enough outside of the UK/Australia anymore.
